I absolutely love memoirs and Born into Crisis by Kenneth Nixon Jr. did not disappoint. This book touches on the authors journey with his relationship with his mother and her battle with mental illness. This book demonstrated how a parents mental illness affects not only the parent but the loved ones as well. The raw emotions in which the story is told will bring tears, cheers and jeers. The encouragement he offers in spite of what he has been through is a testament to the power of resilience and faith. #BornIntoCrisis #NetGalley

Born Into Crisis is well worth reading, and many thanks to author Kenneth Nixon for sharing honesty and openly. The story is both personal and a look at change that can be made on a systematic level. A powerful and important read.

A highly recommended book. The story of mental illness, family and children was very special to me. The relationship between a caregiver and the mother of a mentally ill person was so touching, inspiring and the story touched so strongly on the reality of life.

An important element of this story was how mental health sufferers went through their daily lives not only in terms of treatment but also a personal and holistic approach in order to touch and entered to feel how they struggle to achieve happiness in their lives.
