I have to say that Snow Fairy is one of those manga covers that I fell in love with immediately and that's why I grabbed it. It's adorable and a little dreamy. The romantic note is also well taken here. For me it definitely makes me curious about the content.

Narumi and Haruki's story is told very sweetly and sensitively. They meet by chance and have a great time together, becoming closer. Very romantic and well drawn. I really like the drawing style and I also found the story and pacing very enjoyable. I have nothing to complain about other than that there could have been a few more pages. If you like romantic gay love stories, you'll love this one.

Snow Fairy is a sweet BL manga with lovely art, a cute story and interesting characters. Those combined made the winter season feel almost magical!

Narumi and Haruki are completely different people but they work so well together. Narumi is from the big city, is a wildlife photographer and has been travelling around the world for his work. Haruki lives alone and is relatively recluse, but very kind. The pair are perfect foils and they just fit together so well. I loved watching them learn about each other and grow.

The art style is lovely for this manga. The cover looks dreamy and the inside art had crisp lines and good shading. The story itself was relatively slow paced but sweet and a really nice, cozy read.

This is a one and done manga so there isn’t a book two. If you’re looking for a sweet BL manga I’d definitely recommend this!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

If I was tagging this on AO3 the first one I’d use is tooth rotting fluff, in the best way possible.

Haruki stumbles upon nature photographer, Narumi, and invites him to stay until it warms up and he gets his shot. Haruki is guarded due to the loss of his parents, and Narumi is the warmest person alive. They spend most of the volume as pining friends, but I think that adds to what’s great about this volume. There is no rush, no clouding the pure love they share with jealousy or sex. The language they use is so romantic and idealistic, that it makes you want to believe in this happening for yourself. We do get sweet or comedic moments where you think it’s about to happen. This helps to not make it so entirely heavy.
The title is perfect and shows how adorable Haruki truly is. I loved how photography is a love language in this manga. The art is as whimsical as the story. I’ll be re reading this a lot. There is something about this story that makes you want to find the mangaka's whole backlog. I hope they have a long one.

Snow Fairy is short and sweet. Two men meet cutely and get to know each other in a small town during winter and they both help each other grow bit by bit. This BL is fairly tame, there's no explicit content, so this could be a good title for those that are more into the emotional side of a relationship. I certainly don't regret my time with it. It was a nice little pallet cleanser.

I found this manga very sweet: the characters are endearing and cute, I like how their relationship progresses over the pages and how they manage to trust each other in the end. The drawings are nice, the story is light and perfect when you don't want to think too much.
The negative point for me is that I would have liked to see more character development, and for the difficult subjects (death, loss of a loved one) to be dealt with in more depth.

Allow me to begin this review in a somewhat strange way.

m/m, fluff, slight angst, countryboy/cityboy , oneshot,

Ok, goth that out of my system. It was just really giving off the vibes.

This was such a cute story. BLs can be very hit or miss in terms of story but this one was great. I really liked the characters and found the view of photography to be amazing. With that there was a slap several amazing pages of animals that are a sight to behold and really reminded me why nature photography is such a cool thing.

Would recommend, nice cozy winter time read.

A cute, delightful BL (without ANY sex scenes, be warned) about grief, animal life, photography, friends and family. A warning reading for a winter day. Thanks to Netgalley and to the publisher for allowing me to read it !

Adorably sweet and romantic!

This manga is the perfect oneshot read that you wish had ten more volumes! The message within this story of Haruki and Narumi finding a home within one another when they come from very different walks of life is so perfectly paced. They have a very gentle love that blooms over time and you can really see their shared experiences bring them together. I found this incredibly enjoyable and will be waiting for the pub date to add this to my collection!

Snow Fairy surprised me by being very down-to-earth and cutely mundane. The manga is more about the characters, their relationship and life than just being BL. Narumi is a famous photographer, who comes to Hokkaido to take wildlife photos. He ends up in a snow storm, but gets rescued by Haruki, who lives there. They spend the winter together, Narumi teaching Haruki to photograph and all. There's no plot as such, but just their everyday lives and falling for one another. I really liked that. There's no sex in the manga, which was a good call. So, this is more like shounen ai basically. The atmosphere is tranquil and the rhythm is nice and slow. This was so refreshing!

The art is really nice and detailed. The characters have facial expressions and all in all the manga is lively. If you want heartwarming cuteness, then this is surely for you. I'm very much pleased we get BL like this in English, since it can be something like this too - small and tender.

“Photos have the heart of the taker reflected in them too. They’re like a mirror.”

This was such a sweet manga. It was cute, fluffy and gay, but it also brought up the important topics of grieving and loss.

Akihito and Haruki own my heart and I loved their dynamic. Haruki was a closed off and quiet country boy, and it was great to see him reacting to his new extroverted city boy housemate. It’s a sweet slow burn story, where both characters were equally oblivious to the other’s feelings as well as their own. I loved seeing them figuring it all out.

I also loved how the story touched upon loss and grief. I especially loved the quote: “The longer you spend with someone, the more you end up touching their scars.” It was such a nice way of expressing how, as people get to know and care for each other, they learn and grow.

Snow Fairy comes out April 11th. Thanks to Netgalley and Independent Publishers Group for letting me read this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved Snow Fairy! The story was sweet and heartwarming and the art was gorgeous and cinematic. I highly recommend it! It feels like a warm hug on a cold snowy day! A perfect winter read!

Oh the way I absolutely ADORED "Snow Fairy" by Tomo Serizawa. Wildlife photographer Narumi finds himself in Hokkaido for the long winter season during his search for "Snow Fairies". Luckily, local farmer Haruki takes Narumi in and allows him to stay the winter. The pacing of this one volume manga was fabulous. A sweet, gentle, warm, and romantic read to get you through the winter months. Couldn't have dreamed up better fluff myself!

So excited that there was more manga on Netgalley in Feb/March! I was a bit worried about this one though, before this one I tried reading another yaoi manga, but it just left me feeling icky and not happy. I was hoping that this one would be more adult, more mature, have people talk, nothing forced. And it was! It was very sweet.

😍 That we got to see from both sides. We see Haruki and we see Narumi and I just adored that. How they both think about the situation (Narumi staying with Haruki), but also about other topics.
😍 How they got closer and closer. At first it seems it is mostly Narumi who wants to take the initiative and wants to see if Haruki is interested, but at times we also see how Haruki is feeling about things, and I loved that. I did feel for Narumi, he really has to hold himself in, he just wants to hold Haruki's hand, or just give him a hug, but Haruki is not into that/still not open enough for that. I loved that Narumi respected that, though he did give us some adorable faces as he pouted.
😍 How much photography ran as a thread through the story. Not just Narumi, as he is a photographer, but also see what it means to Haruki when he finds some old equipment of his dads and how that changes his perspective and all that. Plus, I loved the photographs from Haruki's
😍 How deep it got and I loved that both of them thought about the other, and not just in the OMG I love him, but also thought about things deeper. I love it when a yaoi is just more mature, more adult, more about thoughts and building a relationship instead of what yaoi still often is. Forced proximity, rape, forcefulness. I just love it when yaoi go like this one, or My Policeman, or Restart duology by Cocomi. Adult men, talking, thinking about each other, taking it slow, respecting the others wishes. And then figuring out that HECK yes, we have feelings for each other!
😍 I just loved how they discovered their feelings and how they let the other party know. Narumi's was just so sweet, that fitted so well with him, and I was so proud of Haruki when he dared to open up. That must have been tough for him, so I was just excited!
😍 Plus, that they didn't go further! I mean, they share a bed and a kiss, but nothing more and that made me happy. So many yaoi just speed up or go way too fast, but it fits so much better with these two to take it slow.
😍 Haruki's backstory just broke my heart. I mean, we knew he lost his parents, but to read how? 😭 And that is also is connected with why he never left his town. And how people would love it for Narumi to try to get Haruki to open up and take him outside. Away from it all.
😍 The art was just so fun, and I love the style! It is cute, fun, playful, and definitely shows the chemistry between the characters.
😍 Grandma and her cat Pooh deserve a mention. I just loved grandma and Pooh was adorable~
😍 THAT COVER! OMG. So pretty!
😍 An epilogue? UM YES PLEASE!

All in all, this was a sweet, wonderful, adorable, mature and adult, manga! Featuring guys who talk, take things easy, and gorgeous art and scenery. RECOMMNENDED.

Thank you to NetGalley, Independent Publishers Group, Tokyopop, LOVE x LOVE, and Tomo Serizawa for the opportunity to read this manga in exchange for an honest review.

What an adorable BL manga! Narumi is a famous wildlife photographer who comes to Hokkaido in search of a "snow fairy." After being stranded in a snowstorm, local resident Haruki invites Narumi to stay with him until the season is over.

Bonding, Narumi is a social butterfly who conversates and makes friends with ease, and he even teached Haruki aspects of the art of photography!

When the season enars its end, it is inevitable. The two have fallen in love. What will they do with these feelings and how will they approach the time to part ways?

A super adorable single-volume manga that tells a wholesome story of friendship-to-lovers. With gorgeous art and a unique story in its relation to hotography, this is a must-read for Boy Love fans!

What immediately caught my eye was the artwork – absolutely beautiful and delicate as the story itself.
Haruki and Narumi are so cute and I adored how utterly believable the development of their relationship is, though I would have loved to get to know them more in-depth.

If you're looking for a slow-burn BL read, don't miss Snow Fairy!

Thank you, LOVE x LOVE and Netgalley, for the ARC.

"Snow Fairy" By: Tomo Serizawa follows Narumi, a wildlife photographer and Haruki, a local farmer. Haruki finds Narumi camping on the side of the road while taking pictures of birds and offers to let Narumi stay with him. This begins their friendship, which turns into a budding love.

This was cute. I liked both characters and the relationship was cute however the plot was somewhat lacking. It felt very meh. I was happy in the end to see them get together however for most of the book I was bored.

4.5 🌟
This bl manga is one of the cutest manga I have ever readddd!!!!!
Narumi, a nature photographer and Haruki a farmer love story is the cutest! This manga is completed and it's a fast read. Haruki has a hard time because of the death of his parents and Narumi brings life to him through the photographs he takes. Haruki takes a step forward and learns photography from Narumi and the tension becomes a spark and a spark leads them to fall in love. The art in this manga is so good and pretty!!!

The art is gorgeous - from the little details on Haru’s and Aki’s faces to the scenery and wildlife, it felt immersive. Because of the snowy landscape, the usual black-and-white manga felt that much more fitting. There’s also a really good use of space and framing - how Aki fills almost every frame he’s in but Haru is often shown with much more negative space - it’s a subtle but clever way to show their mindsets - and when Haru starts filling the pages more and more as the story progresses, it feels right.

The small-town feel was also really great. Having the two best friends who have known Haru practically since birth, the elderly neighbors whose driveways Haru would plow for them, the sense of space and quiet but also everyone knowing everyone.

I feel like there’s a lot that happens off-page during the long gaps between chapters. With Aki staying in town for months and then leaving for more months, it felt like we didn’t really get to see a lot of the day-to-day but I realized by the end that I didn’t really need it. We got the sense of the characters and their emotions and how they changed without needing to see it.

This was so adorable. I loved it from beginning to end. It’s super soft and fluffy and innocent. This is about two boys from two different worlds who are both longing for companionship. One is a city boy who comes to the country side to take pictures and a country boy who lets him stay at his farm while he’s in town. I loved both of them and they were so stinking cute. There was a bit of grumpyxsunshine with their conflicting personalities. Not gonna give too much away but it was deff worth the read.

What a lovely new title by TOKYOPOP!!! It’s all very soft and full of love: love for each other, for photography, for those around the MC, wildlife,…
It’s a slow romance with 0 sex, just kissing (I think most of the TOKYOPOP BL manga I’ve read had sex scenes so that was kind of surprising)
I loved the artist style and the emotions behind the story.
Would definitely recommend!
