This was an intense, quick read that I absolutely loved! Creepy to think of the things that can happen the further we advance in technology and this was such a fun play on that thought!!

OMG, this short story is wild! I love Gardner's sharp and snappy writing style. Eve In Overdrive is my 4th story by the author and is part of the Jolvix series that are all standalone stories. I wish the ending wasn't as rushed, but other than that it was quick and entertaining. Check it out if you enjoy light sci-fi psycho thrillers. You better buckle up and hold on tight for this one!

This was my first book by this author and it definitely won't be my last. Why did I wait so long to read her books. This was so unique, so different from the usual thrillers I read and I am here for it !

This is the 5th installment in the Jolvix episodes and it's a novella. They can all be read in any order. I truly loved the near future aspect of these, how crazy technology is evolving and how scary it's becoming. This book was very unique and I loved it. This is a one sitting bingeable read that you will not want to put down. It's small but packs a great punch.

I went in completely blind and loved my experience, I would recommend everyone to do the same. I was honestly on the edge of my seat through it all to see what the outcome would be.

I loved Gardner's writing style it was so engaging, addictive and easy flowing. This story was fast paced and never let up. I am definitely picking up the others in this series.

If you're looking for a short action packed thriller do yourself a favor and pick up this little gem!

A self driving car! What the! A quick and not so easy read. Part sci fi part physcological thriller. A nice little twist.

I am a fan of The Jolvix Episodes, and this book was a LOT of action packed into a 98-page novella! The self-driving car concept made me think of "The Passengers" by John Marrs (which I absolutely loved!)

I don't want to say too much, but I will say that this is an awesome addition to The Jolvix Episodes franchise! (The Jolvix Episodes books can be read in any order!)

Be ready to go on an adventure with a crazy stalker that has control of a self-driving car.

Eve in Overdrive will keep you entertained and you will not be able to stop until you have finished the book, wanting more. Eve has brought a self driving car taken over someone that she has not said nice things about.

If you love suspense, drama, sci fic & drama - this is the book for you.

Eve is an online journalist who’s become a sensation after devoting her writing to calling out trolls! (You go, girl!) But after a recent bomb scare, her company may have no taste for this kind of heat.

Hey Eve, how about a nice quiet, leisurely drive in your brand new Jolvix car to explore new horizons…so to speak. 😉

Big problem though. The last troll Eve just outed happens to be the same Jolvix engineer who programmed her car! (oh oh!).

If this were a movie, we’d be shouting at the screen, “Don’t do it Eve!"

Once again, Faith Gardner has given us a peek into the future with Jolvix and their latest Sunray solar powered, self-driving luxury car! What an imagination! It’s got just enough sci-fi to scare me silly. But realistic enough to know this indeed may be part of our future. (Not for this gal!)

Amen Maxine remains my favorite of this series. But this latest novella is definitely a close second!

This is the second book I have read of Faith Gardner after ‘Amen Maxine’ and this has a technology & AI backdrop as well. This is a fairly short, easy to read and very entertaining story.

Eve is a journalist with the Said magazine, who has a popular column “What’s Your Problem, Bro?” which calls out online trolls. She does not directly identify them, but posts details of their behaviour. A flashback tells us that Eve was always the bold person – once calling out abusive behaviour on a bus when nobody else was willing to do so or even support her. She receives threats frequently for what she writes. While her column might end soon she has a good book advance, and buys herself a new solar powered, automatic AI powered self-driving car – a Sunray from the company Jolvix. A short while after she takes possession of the car, she is stunned when the car stops responding to her instructions and she hears a voice – Henry, an engineer with Jolvix, one of the people she has written about in her column. A wild ride is to follow.

This is a very entertaining story which sticks to a minimal set of characters and a simple plot. The interactions between Eve and Henry make for interesting reading but fall short of being imaginative. I liked the story for its simplicity, but the novelty element in the storyline wore off past half-way.

A quick light read!

Vroom! Vroom! Eve finds herself on quite a road trip in this latest Jolvix episode. Part of the fun is discovering all the plot details as Faith Gardner chooses to reveal them, so I will keep this short. My favorite thing in this book was the solar-powered car. No need to plug in or stop for fuel. A very cool feature. I was not a big fan of Eve as a character and did not feel like she learned a bloomin' thing from her experience. Trigger warning: social media bullying/cancelling. This book comes out tomorrow, March 23, 2023.

The format of this novella was perfect for Eve's fast paced trip across the country in her new, over-the-top, self-driving Sunray. The only problem? It's a trip Eve hadn't planned on.

Faith Gardner is wonderful at capturing her character's thought processes, be they human or technological. In Eve in Overdrive, she's thought of everything. We get to hear Eve's thoughts and feel her physical discomfort. We are in the driver's seat (or passenger seat, because you know...it's self-driving) and we see everything through Eve's eyes. I don't want to give away spoilers, but I definitely caught myself wondering what I would do if I was in her situation..

FYI, I would not have bought this book if I saw the cover, but as a fan of Faith Gardner's other works (read them!) I took a chance and had an entertaining two hour read!

Eve in Overdrive, The Jolvix Episodes #5, is a crazy, wild ride and great way for me to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon. I couldn't and didn't want to stop reading. This is the second book I've read in this series and both have delivered a very different and unique 'near-future' experience.

I don't want to say too much though, as it's best to go in as blind as possible with this whip-fast novella. Do yourself a favor, don't read the synopsis, instead go directly to a book site to download this little gem on your favorite device. Then.Go.Read.It. You can thank me later.

Thank you NetGalley and Mirror House Press for the copy of Eve In Overdrive. I have enjoyed other Jolvix Episodes so I was really looking forward to this book and it didn’t disappoint me. The novella format was perfect and kept the book short and snappy. It was easy to picture Eve and what she was going through and really made me ponder what she had done that led to it. I loved how she kept trying different things to get out of her predicament. The car was a great futuristic ‘character’. If you’re new to this series, this is a great book to start with. If you have read others this is a worthy follow on!

I loved this book. this book has so much twist and turns it will keep you on the edge of your seat. There is danger, action, suspense, and romance. I highly recommend this one.

I will say reading the entire series and loving it, this one fell flat. I liked the idea of Eve trying to confront keyboard warriors aka trolls in both the physical and computer aspects and applaud her for that. That concept worked for me, however my pet peeve is rude people and have been in her position(do you say something or be silent), but the idea of Henry and his plight just didn't work for me. I can't put my finger on it but something was amiss for me, maybe because it was a novella. I love this series but if I had to rank this is the lowest out of them all.

At the end the author said she had a crossover character. Can you all help me on that one as I somehow missed. it.

This one has teeth.

Faith Gardner does it again with her fourth edition in her Jolvix Series. Gardner has a windstorm of creativity circulating in all the corners and niches in her mind. She can come up with a stellar idea in the time it takes the average individual to replace the cap on the toothpaste tube. Done. Delivered. Top notch.

Eve Alexopoulos arrives at her office building running late and out of breath as usual. There's a load of police vehicles surrounding thebuilding including EMS at the ready. A bomb scare this time. Oh, and the party that flipped the switch on this one begins with a capital "E".

Eve is an investigative journalist at the digital Said Magazine. She sniffs out trolls like a dog with a bone. And she makes these bottom feeders pay with outing their identity to the public. "What's Your Problem, Bro?" is a massive success until the blowback is no longer profiting the magazine. The Troll Nation doesn't like to be outed and they respond with making Eve's life miserable. From exploding dog poop on her frontstep to......well, yeah, bomb scares......they've cornered her.

Add to that the fact that that cup of coffee her boss took her out for had a big price tag. She's fired. Speaking of big price tags, Eve signed on the dotted line for a brand new Sunray solar powered car. And here's where the story starts to bite back. Eve will be the next best thing to a hood ornament on that sleek bolt of lightning on four wheels.

If you haven't had the pleasure of reading a Faith Gardner novel, get crackin'. They all read as standalones. My favorite is Amen Maxine. Gardner is a force. She's the gift that keeps on giving. Grab one immediately if not sooner.
