I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

You Can Die is the third installment in Zanetti’s Laurel Snow series. Going in, I thought this would be the final installment, but it’s not.

Laurel Snow is investigating a case where men are being stabbed to death and left with valentines candy in their mouths and throats. She is figuring out her way in her relationship with Huck, ans Abagail is still around causing trouble.

This was an easy and fun read but a little predictable. I look forward to reading the next one and hope that we begin to see Abagail get her due.

This series gets better and better. I love the twists and turns this one took. I was sucked in from the beginning and turned loose at the end. It is amazing. The villain is fantastic (as is the rest of the characters). The plot was unique and interesting packed with wows! Can't wait for the next one.

A great psychological thriller with lots of plot twists and turns. You just never know what the sisters will get up to.

Laurel Snow is an FBI agent whose job it is to hunt serial killers. Laurel has a few problems. Among them are a staff shortage, bad winter weather, and a new boyfriend named Huck. And family, did I mention family? A grifter father she hasn't met. And a long lost sister she suspects is the cause of the mysterious deaths. If only Laurel could find a way to prove her sister is involved.

I would not advise reading this at night and then trying to go to sleep. There are murders.

Romantic suspense, well drawn characters, good mystery. Extra points for Hucks search and rescue dog and Laurel's newly adopted rescue cat. I see the beginnings of a new found family.

Laurel Snow is an FBI agent who is trying to track down a serial killer while dealing with her psycho half sister. I did not figure out who the killer was until it was revealed. I also enjoyed watching her relationship with Fish and Wildlife officer Hank evolve more. I really enjoy this series and am looking forward to the next installment.

Once again this author hit all the marks for me. I have been following this series and hope to continue. First off I absolutely adore Laurel. I can also see that she has grown some, which it comes to letting out her big heart as well as her big brain. She's even gained some small ground when it comes to interpreting facial expressions and emotions.
Huck is such a great guy, not only skilled in his job but his understanding in how to interact with Laurel just keeps getting better and better. I so enjoyed the two of them both on their own and together. The romance was good.
Laurel's team had her back, with no hesitation. Laurel also cared about them and it wasn't long before so did I. She had Walter and Kate's back as much as she can. They actually are making an even better team than they were before and before they were pretty darn good.
If you're looking for evil people in this story, there are plenty of those. It caused Laurel to be ultra busy with more people in her investigations. But her main focus is on at least 3 investigations at a time on her white board.
Laurel's half sister is back causing even more headaches for Laurel. She's brilliant, twisted and knows how to use men and others. It's amazing how easily she comes across to people as vulnerable and lost especially when it came to men. She used them and then tossed them away and they still tried to come running back to her.
It was amazing to me how many people were so quick to try to sue Laurel. It was almost amusing although not something that she wasted a lot of time on.
Twists, turns and dangers make for a very full, riveting story. I like how it ended...for now. Do I want more of Laurel, her team and Huck? You betcha.
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”

I really enjoy this series! Love the mystery behind the murders, and I like Laurel’s personality. I enjoy the writing style too. An entertaining read! There was something missing a bit from this book of the series though; I felt Laurel wasn’t at her best in regards to solving the case, or how she let her manipulative sister get to her so easily. So I was a bit disappointed there, but I still just love the vibe to this series. Looking forward to more!

4.25 stars--YOU CAN DIE is the third instalment in Rebecca Zanetti’s contemporary, adult LAUREL SNOW suspense thriller focusing on FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow. YOU CAN DIE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is an ongoing plot line throughout.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from several omniscient third person perspectives including Laurel YOU CAN DIE follows FBI profiler Laurel Snow as she begins to investigate another possible serial killer, someone who is making the killings personal, leaving Valentine candy hearts in their wake but as Laurel begins to ferret out the clues, a connection to the past merges most if not all of the murder victims to a local attorney’s office. Meanwhile, Laurel Snow continues to suspect her half-sister Abigail is somehow involved in another string of murders, as her sister’s proclivities are questionable at best. As Laurel and her team, including Washington Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers, amass a list of potential suspects, sins of the past force Laurel to navigate a potential minefield of betrayal and madness.

While our heroine Laurel Snow appears to be on the autism spectrum, a woman with several degrees and doctorates who struggles with basic day to day interactions, her half-sister Dr. Abigail Cane’s degrees and doctorates hide a psychopathic and narcissistic personality, rife for manipulation and murder.

The relationship between Laurel and Captain Huck Rivers is both professional and personal. Captain Rivers is often involved in the murder investigations as the locations and sites are in his jurisdiction but after hours Huck and Laurel spend their time commiserating out the days’ events, and talking about a future together.

YOU CAN DIE is a story of dysfunctional family beliefs in opposition to Laurel’s sense of duty and honor; betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, and retribution for sins of the past. The premise is detailed, intriguing, dramatic and intense; the characters are dynamic, purposeful, questionable and lost.

How does a story that was feeding me answers a crumb at a time, leave me with so many questions in the end? That’s the wonder of Zanetti’s writing and why I consider all of her books must-reads. Whether it’s romantic suspense, paranormal romance, or thriller/mysteries such as You Can Die, I’m guaranteed a worthwhile and enjoyable experience.

A killer is targeting men, stabbing them multiple times and leaving them choking on Valentine’s candy. It makes for a macabre scene set by the author, but I was utterly fascinated. Each clue led to another question, another victim, another link, and honestly… I really was kept in the dark until the end. I had an inkling, shrugged it off, and then realized I should have trusted my instincts!

So I have questions and I’m guessing they’ll be fed to me in any book to come for this series. Dr. Abigail Caine is definitely an enigma, as well as Zeke Caine. They may be Laurel’s family (her sister and father), but she doesn’t know them. She lived her whole life without them and if it were up to her, she’d live the rest of her life the same way.

Is Abigail a killer? Is she as wicked as she seems through Laurel’s eyes? And will Zeke feature in some way in the future?

Honestly, all I really want for Laurel is some true happiness with Huck (I LOVE this man) and a semblance of peace. Is that too much to ask?

A serial killer is killing men of questionable character and leaving candy hearts in their mouths. Assigned to solve these murders is FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow, her make shift FBI team (kate, Walter,& Nester) and Laurel's handsome lover Captain Huck of Fish & Wildlife. And to make Laurel and everyone else miserable is Lauren's psychotic half sister Abigail.
I have read every one of Mrs. Zanetti's work and have never been disappointed, one of the things I love best about her books is there is always atleast one OH MY GOSH moments that you just didn't see coming, and let me tell you this story is a prime example. I also really enjoyed getting to know Laurel's new FBI teammates more in this book, their personalities really came through. If your a fan of the previous Laurel Snow books you are going to be in for an adventure and an emotional ride. If you've haven't read the series I really urge you too, especially if you like a great who done it with a nice dose of romance.

I absolutely LOVED this installment to the Laurel Snow series. In this third book in the series you just get more of everything. It felt like there was more action, more suspense and mystery, and more romance than in the previous books, which I also thoroughly enjoyed. Laurel Snow is back in Genesis Valley, her hometown, on a more permanent basis, Fresh off two serial killer cases, she gets back into town after several weeks working on the east coast, to another murder that her team is asked to help with. This quickly turns into a series of connected murders, likely another serial killer, with connections leading to her complicated family life.

During the course of working on this case, she spends more time with Huck, a Washington Fish and Wildlife Captain and her work neighbor as well as love interest, and we get to see this relationship develop even more. Everything about this story worked for me and I especially loved that I didn't at all guess the ending. I love when a mystery is able to take me by surprise. If you haven't read any of these, you should definitely start with the first one - they are absolutely worth the time!

This is one of my favorite mysteries/suspense series. As the third installment of this series you have to wonder if it will hold up to the previous two. The answer is yes, yes it does. Laurel is such a complex character, and seeing her interaction with others is fascinating. Her sister, Abigail, adds another layer to these stories. Her narcissistic personality makes her such a wonderful character to hate/love and you never know exactly how Abigail will manage to try weave her way into Laurel’s life. I have always loved the dynamics of her makeshift FBI office and crew. Huck is great as well. I really enjoyed this book and the story kept me guessing until the very end!

YOU CAN DIE (A Laurel Snow Thriller Book 3) by Rebecca Zanetti

Men are dying in the Pacific Northwest, their bodies found near churches, charities, and counselling centers—each with valentine candy hearts shoved down their throats. They’re good men with families and community ties—or so they seem until Laurel Snow and her team begin to investigate. Then the case takes a shockingly personal turn when the father she’s never met, a former pastor, is attacked in exactly the same way.
Now, besides solving the case, Laurel is on the hunt to discover where her father has been. Complicating things is Laurel’s troubled half-sister, Abigail, a brilliant sociopath determined to prove that they’ve both inherited their father’s malignant narcissism.
Assisting Laurel is Washington Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers, a dangerous loner whose reliance on gut instinct puts him at odds with Laurel’s coolly analytic approach. But the choice may be moot when the killer hones in on Huck’s own dark secrets—putting him and Laurel squarely in the crosshairs.

REVIEW

You Can Die by Rebecca Zanetti is the third book in the series Laurel Snow and you need to read the books in order to enjoy fully the story and Laurel and Huck’s journey.
FBI agent Lauren Snow and her team need to hunt a new serial killer. The timeline of the three books in the series in very fast, some members of Laurel’s team still need to recover from the previous case, and the first murder strikes near them, involving Laurel from the very beginning, and the killer’s victims grow fast.
At first the target and the connections lead to a law firm, but then the pattern change and it’s difficult to read.
I love Laurel character, she’s a total badass on the field, she has a beautiful mind, but in her private life she feels a little vulnerable with Huck and their story. She’s not a flirty girl, she never plays games and she hadn’t dated a lot in the past. But Huck can read her so well and knows how to put at easy Laurel, telling her always the truth directly- He’s also a little grumpy, smart and very protective, but he respects her role, knowing she needs to be the one to take charge in her job. He restrains himself and respect their boundaries because he knows she’s trained and very good.
Serial killers aren’t the only complication in Laurel and Huck life, there is also Laurel’s “family”.
The real thorn is Abigail, Laurel’s half-sister, more dangerous of the serial killer, creepy. She enjoys playing mind games and use people as her puppets.
The plot is engaging and intricate, the characters compelling, I only wished to read more solo time for Laurel and Huck. I laughed so hard when Huck said an exasperated “What now?” when the phone rang.
But… there are also a lot of surprises I can’t tell you, lot lot of them, so go find them!

FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow is back in the third romantic suspense novel, You Can Die by Rebecca Zanetti. Snow returns from back East when she is called to the first of many grisly murder scenes. Come see why I enjoy this series and its cast of characters.

In You Can Die, Laurel and the team learned they have approval for their satellite office. Which means ordering a proper desk and another agent. All of that will have to wait because we have a serial killer on the loose.

Someone is killing men who all seem to have ties to a law firm, but Laurel will need to dig for the motive. This was an interest case with plenty of suspects, including Snow’s sister, but the how and why isn’t clear. Someone from Snow’s past is back in town and things get complicated.

I enjoy FBI Special Agent Laurel Snows’ mind and how she operates. Some might find her cold, but Washington Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers, see her. We see some major development in the romance department, although it takes a backseat to the demanding investigations and danger.

The series arc concerning her half-sister gained some ground but also came with more questions. The woman is scary and brilliant. Snow will have to outfox her to bring her to justice.

Zanetti gave us an interesting case with plenty of suspects as she slowly gave us breadcrumbs, red herrings, and twists. I admit I did not figure out the killer, but once revealed, it all clicked into place.

Fans of murder-mystery and suspense with a dash of romance will enjoy this series. Despite each novel having a case resolved, I recommend reading them in order. There is an overall arc concerning Snow’s sister and the romantic elements will be appreciated more from the beginning.

Rebecca Zanetti writes a series with using FBI profiler Laurel Snow as her lead who struggling with her half-sister who is a sociopath and needles Laurel in hopes of being out her darker side that Abigael thinks Laurel is hiding.
Laurel good friend and male romantic interest Huck refuses to allow Laurel to trust her sister and wants to protect her from the world around her.

The story has heart and soul readers are looking for. It is part of a series, and I would recommend not reading it as a standalone novel.
Thank you Netgelly

Laurel Snow is back! I was so excited to read You Can Die. Laurel Snow is one of my favorite crime-fighters and when she is paired with Huck -- well I can't think of any other crime drama I would rather read!

In this third installment, Laurel once again has a crazy serial killer to uncover -- and her bizarro sister Abigail Crain is right in the middle of things once again. When Laurel's receptionist's ex-husband is found murdered, she must not only defend those around her from accusations of being the murderer, but also find the killer, which is where she focuses her big brain. Laurel begins an investigation into a case that has connections to her missing father, a councilman going for re-election and an entire firm of lawyers. There's lots for Laurel to unravel, and she does it brilliantly as usual. I have to say that I really love how Laurel works through the case, and although she takes some chances that could potentially get her in deep trouble in You Can Die, it's a good thing she has Huck around to give her protection. While I had a huge girl-crush on Laurel, I love it even more when she teams up with Huck and his wonderful dog.

Laurel does go up against her crazy sister Abigail in You Can Die, and her father makes a reappearance, causing quite a bit of havoc and red herrings to the case. My skin always crawls when Abigail is on the page -- she's just bad from so many different angles -- but it's a great cat-and-mouse game between the two sisters.

I devoured this book, not able to put it down until I hit the final pages. It's a great romantic suspense story and although the ending felt just a bit rushed, I loved every word of this story. I really need more of Laurel Snow and I hope there will be more to this series.

A well plotted and thought out mystery with many suspects. I enjoyed the romantic thriller angle of the book with Laurel and Hank, and having one of the murdered men the ex of one of FBI office staff was brilliant. It brought many people into the 'did they or didn't they' pool!!

Twists and turns galore and lots of 'look over here...oh wait...look over there moments. Altogether a great read for me.

This is the first Zanetti book I've ever read, even though I know she's been around a while! I was very happy with this read and when I found there were 2 previous books in the series...I purchased those as well

OMG! If you thought the last two books were exciting… you ain’t seen nothing yet!

You Can Die is an equally powerhouse of a story where a string of murders in the area are puzzling Laurel and the team. But as secrets are uncovered, everyone becomes a suspect… including Laurel.

Holy cow there’s so much going on here! Lots of excitement! Lots of danger! Lots of family drama!

Laurel’s half-sister Abigail is the epitome of a Twisted Sister, literally! In her attempts to develop a relationship with Laurel, she’s weaving webs of deceit and manipulation all the while cunning in her duplicity.

Thankfully Laurel is onto her BS, but Abigail has most of the people believing she’s a slighted sister and emotionally fragile. Boy are they in for a rude awakening. But the thing is, those who become entangled in Abigail’s web, succumb to the poison of her venom, and often fodder for her machinations.

Another crazy good story from Rebecca Zanetti! So many things happen! Secrets uncovered! Threats and challenges and surprises and a whole bunch of stuff happens! I can’t say much more without spoiling it. Read it! You’ll be glad you did!

The entire series is amazing! Highly recommend it!

I am always amazed at Rebecca Zanetti’s ability to write so many different genres, and I must say this particular genre of romantic suspense is one that I love. Murders are happening once again in the area where Laurel Snow is an FBI agent and along with her crew, and lover Huck Rivers we have a cat and mouse game as to who the killer is. There are also lots of distractions with Laurel’s half sister Abigail Caine, and her father who shows up after being gone for 5 years. Men are being brutally stabbed and left in purple tents with valentine candy stuffed in their mouth. Laurel must find out how they are all related and what the killings mean. Another fine edition to this wonderful series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Oh, this one was good! I didn't know what was coming at all. Laurel is back in her cramped office space, looking for more people and supplies from the FBI. However, she gets to share space with Huck and his crew. Her sister, Abigail, is scary and manipulative. Dead men are popping up with definite serial killer vibes. I very much enjoyed this high-stakes mystery with a delightful romantic subplot.

I look forward to reading more books in this exciting series.
