Perfect as standalone, but fourth in the Beacon Bakeshop series where Lindsey Bakewell left Wall Street to rehab a Michigan lighthouse into living quarters and a bakery. Halloween is on the horizon and a number of pranks have turned up around the bakery. It's only when a prank turns real that it starts to get dangerous. Peopled with an array of engaging and interesting characters, the book has red herrings and suspects galore. Great addition to the series.

It is Halloween in Beacon Harbor, Michigan and fun events are planned, including a pumpkin carving contest to be hosted by Lindsey and the Beacon Bakeshop, a costume parade, and even a podcast by Lindsey's best friend Kennedy and a group of ghost hunters to see what they might find in the haunted lighthouse that is Lindsey's home and her bakery. When things get scary in the lightroom of the lighthouse, all the ghosthunters run out of the lighthouse afraid, only to find a body hanging from the oak in the backyard. I enjoyed seeing the characters of the small town again and the mystery was multilayered with plenty of suspects and the author did a great job throwing red herrings to keep me guessing the identity of the person who killed the popular teacher found hanging. This is another good addition to the series and is filled with yummy sounding foods with pumpkin in the ingredients. I received a copy for the purpose of an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.

I adored this whodunit. I was so sure I had the ending figured out and then BOOM! WRONG (best kind of ending). I love Kennedy and her need to bedazzle things, although this time I am glad it wasn't to the same extreme as Clara the goat. Halloween in Beacon Harbor sounds like a delight and the Beacon Bakeshop would definitely be on my list to visit. All desserts pumpkin delight readers in this book, along with Lindsey and her adorbs Newfie, Welly. Spooky pranks, a ghost hunt and of course a murder round out this delightful addition to the Beacon series. MORE PLEASE!!

My hearty thanks to Kensington Cozies and Netgalley for this ARC. My opinions are my own.

Halloween brings out the best in Beacon Harbor. A little harassment from the local kids provides some angst for Lindsey and the bakery. They keep hanging dummies in the oak tree by the lighthouse. When Kennedy and the Ghost Guys play up the ghost in the lighthouse on Halloween night everyone gets a frightening experience. An actual body is hanging in the oak tree. Lindsey gets involved when the dog of the teacher killed is missing. A long ago story, an author who needs a good book, a professor who betrays a trust and more leads you on a merry chase to discover the killer. It's always good to return to this little community. The characters are funny, quirky and enjoyable. The story keeps you guessing and the dogs again save the day! Great read!
I was given a copy of this book by netgalley in exchange for a review.

Is it me or is Ken getting worse? I love all the side characters and the mystery was fun. However our MC and her sidekick bestow kinda irked me l; lots of speculating and it was whiplash with all their suspects. And Ken was just kind of crazy in a not good way.

With Halloween approaching, Lindsey reluctantly allows her friend Kennedy, along with the professional team of a ghost hunting show to investigate the lighthouse. When Kennedy and the team are spooked by happenings in the lighthouse, they run out, only to encounter a dead body hanging from a tree.
Who had reason to kill the high school teacher? What role does Lindsey's lighthouse play?
Fourth in the series - enjoyed catching up with Lindsey and friends.

Lindsay reluctantly agrees with her BFF Kennedy's plan to do a podcast at the lighthouse - with ghost hunters-but Captain Willy isn't that worried they'll fund him. And then there's a body. A body hanging in a tree and all bets are off. Lindsay, Kennedy, Rory, and Officer Tuck (along with the Captain and Wellington the dog) must figure out the identity of the victim, the reason for the murder, and the identity of the villain. It's kinda classic paranormal cozy stuff with a zippy plot, characters who like one another, and a fun setting. Even though it's the latest in a series, it should be fine as a standalone. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. Oh- and recipes!

From the adorable atmospheric cover to the yummy recipes at the end, Murder At The Pumpkin Patch is the perfect autumnal read! Darci Hannah has outdone herself with this installment of the Beacon Bakeshop mysteries.
Lindsey's lighthouse is all decorated for autumn since Halloween is right around the corner, but it is not her favorite holiday. The locals are convinced the lighthouse is haunted---even her bestie, Kennedy, insists on filming her live ghost-hunting investigation there. Pranks and tricks plague Lindsey as the holiday draws near and culminates with a murder! The hunt for the murderer takes off on a twisted path at a quick clip.
I am drawn to this series by the friendships, the marvelous setting, and interesting plots. Of course, the recipes are a wonderful bonus! I recommend this fun series to those who enjoy cozy mysteries, close-knit small town settings, and fun story lines,

This was a fun Halloween cozy murder mystery that I thoroughly enjoyed. I know, I always say the same thing for book reviews. 🤣🤣 There's only so many ways to say you liked a book! This was great. Fall and Halloween are my favorite and this has all the vibes. The mystery was a nice pace and I was questioning my thoughts about who the killer could be.

Lindsey Bakewell has a Lighthouse Bakery in Beacon Harbor, MI. It's Halloween and her Bakery is being pranked by local HS tricksters! She decides to hold a pumpkin carving party to try to distract them. Her friend Kennedy decides to also do a podcast at the "Haunted lighthouse". Well things get a little crazy…..and when everyone is freaking out , Kennedy finds a dead body which only adds to the chaos. Now the murder mystery begins. Very entertaining!!
Also, recipes are included. That's always a plus! Lol
Out July 25.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the gifted copy. All opinions are my own. My review will be posted on Instagram, Bookbub, Goodreads, and Amazon once it publishes.

It's Halloween in Beacon Harbor, Michigan. Lindsey Bakewell's Lighthouse Bakery is getting pranked by some high school kids and she's not happy about it. Thinking out of the box, she and the favorite high school teacher come up with a plan to stop the pranks without pointing fingers. They plan an elaborate pumpkin carving party and this seems to work as the kids now think of Lindsay as a friend.

Lindsay's best friend Kennedy has her own ideas for Halloween. She plans a podcast centered around the Haunted Lighthouse and has invited some Ghostbusters to participate.

The pumpkin carving party is a great success. The podcast, not so much since the lighthouse began glowing green and everyone ran screaming from the building. Kennedy ran into a dead body hanging from a tree which made the screaming increase and gave Lindsey her next crime to solve.

This is a great series and I've enjoyed every book. Looking forward to more!

Since Lindsay is a baker, several of her recipes are included

This is a fun Halloween themed cozy mystery. The mystery portion was strong. Even though I guessed the killer's identity, I was second guessing myself until the end. I enjoyed this spooky holiday read.

I enjoyed reading Murder at the Pumpkin Pageant. It’s summer as this book comes out and I’m drawn to the idea of cool fall days and pumpkin laced treats.
Lindsey Bakewell and her team at the Beacon Lighthouse Bakery are turning out some delicious sounding pastries and other baking delights as they prepare for the Halloween festivities.
Lindsey’s lighthouse is haunted and that gets highlighted in this book.
I like Rory, her boyfriend, and Welly, her large dog. Like Rory I am not a big fan of Kennedy, Lindsey’s friend who is living with her. Kennedy is pretty shallow and creates many of the issues Lindsey faces in the books.
There are some interesting suspects in the case of who killed beloved teacher Leslie.
I enjoy visiting Lake Michigan and Beacon Harbor. It’s a town with a lot of characters.
I recommend giving Murder at the Pumpkin Pageant a try.
Thanks to Netgalley and Kensington Cozies for the opportunity to review the book.

This is the 4th installment in Beacon Bakeshop series. Lindsey Bakewell is preparing for Halloween and her lighthouse is getting pranked by some teenagers and in hopes of ending it, she hosts a pumpkin carving contest and meets Leslie Adams and instantly wants to become friends. Lindsey’s social media friend Kennedy decides to host a live podcast on Halloween about the haunted lighthouse and invites a tv ghost hunter show. Kennedy embellished her experiences with the lighthouses first keeper Captain Willy so she expects this be a “show” and did not expect for the lighthouses green “ghost” lights to appear or to hear the voice of Captain Willy warning of danger. The ghost hunters and Kennedy rush out of the lighthouse and they go one way and Kennedy rushes out the back and right into the dead body of Leslie Adams hanging from the oak tree with her Halloween contest. Now Lindsey, Rory (her boyfriend), Kennedy, Tuck (police officer and Kennedy’s boyfriend) are trying to solve the mystery. Add in a famous author wanting to write a book about the lighthouse makes for an interesting and entertaining mystery. This is a great series and you will be entertained and guessing as to who could have done this terrible crime. Recommend.

This was the 4th installment in the Beacon Bakeshop mysteries series, and my first foray into the series. It's set right at Halloween, and seemed to be the perfect fit for my Summerween reading plans!

Lindsey, owner of the Beacon Bakeshop, set in a historic lighthouse in Michigan, finds herself with her hands full. From baking treats for Halloween, stopping pranksters at her lighthouse home, greedy treasure-hunters on the prowl, and dealing with ghost hunters intent on proving the lighthouse is haunted, a murder is just about the last thing she needs. However, murder comes calling, and Lindsey finds herself battling wits with a killer intent on proving just how they will stop at nothing to get what they really want.

This was an OK cozy mystery...I enjoyed the aspects of lore about the lighthouse and bits of information about Michigan. Being a native Michigander, that was a highlight for me. However, I did find the constant use of terms of endearment to be off-putting. It felt like every other sentence contained either "hun, honey, sweetie, darling, and babe," not to mention the nicknames of Linds and Ken (for Kennedy), Lindsey's best friend. There were also several instances that the author felt the need to make age jokes, which totally fell flat. And just as aside to everyone...contrary to what is written in the book NOT everyone in Michigan has a gun in their bedroom. Sheesh.

I enjoyed another visit to the Beacon Bakeshop. All of our regulars are present and it's Halloween. What could go wrong in a haunted lighthouse at Halloween? While Lindsey loves fall and all it's wonderful baking and coffee options, I am craving a pumpkin scone, she is not so excited about people adding scary items to her outside decorations, someone hanging bodies from the oak tree out her windows, and Kennedy inviting Ghost Hunters for a live ghost hunt on Halloween. When the live broadcast blows up and a dead body is found you know Lindsey and company are going to try to make things right!

Murder At The Pumpkin.Pageant is definitely a Halloween mystery with pumpkins, costumes, pranks, food, and murder. The characters are likable and the mystery kept me guessing. Lindsey Bakewell owns a haunted lighthouse and bakery. Her boyfriend Rory and her best friend Kennedy help her find clues and.solve the.mystery. People in town are hanging scary stuff from Lindsey's tree and she wants to put a stop to it. On top of that Kennedy has invited a group of Ghost Hunters to investigate the lighthouse ghost and Kennedy will do her podcast live. Unfortunately things take a terrifying turn and Kennedy runs into a dead body hanging from Lindsey's tree. That part is a bit un-cozy and is mentioned a lot! Other than that it is a good book. There are basically only 4 suspects and of course they.move up and down Lindsay's suspect list as clues and secrets are revealed. I have read all the books in this series and I have enjoyed the other three more than this one. #MurderAtThePumpkinPageant #NetGalley. #BeaconBakeshop. #KensingtonCozies

Murder at the Pumpkin Pageant by Darci Hannah is a cute Halloween themed cozy mystery. We return to Beacon Harbor, Michigan where Lindsey works and lives with her Newfoundland, Wellington. It is October and the town is decked out for Halloween (my favorite holiday). Lindsey has been experiencing trouble with pranksters this year. It seems they want to add a touch of spookiness to the lighthouse décor. In addition, Lindsey has ghost hunters wanting to shoot an episode inside her haunted lighthouse thanks to her friend and podcaster, Kennedy. I like the diverse cast of characters that the author has created for this series. Beacon Harbor is a charming, welcoming town. I would love to live there (I would want to own the lighthouse, but I would turn it into a bookstore). The pastries sound delectable as well as the food Lindsey prepares. The mystery was fun to solve. Lindsey is upset when a teacher she recently met is murdered and left hanging in a tree outside the lighthouse. Lindsey is not about to let the culprit get away with the crime. She asks questions and searches for clues. There are red herrings to misdirect readers from the true culprit. The mystery can be solved if you pay attention to the clues. Wellington turns out to be a big help. I just love Wellington despite his drool. He is a big, lovable dog. Murder at the Pumpkin Pageant is the fourth A Beacon Bakeshop Mystery. It can be read as a standalone for those new to the series. However, reading the series in order will allow you to get to know the characters. I like the banter between Lindsey and her group of friends. You can tell that they are close and know each other well. I enjoyed the spooky atmosphere in this tale. Murder at the Pumpkin Pageant is a book that will put you in the mood for Halloween (has me wanting to dig out my Halloween decorations). Murder at the Pumpkin Pageant is a spooky story with perturbing pranks, a drooling dog, murdered educator, ghost hunters, tasty pastries, firm friends, and a wild ride.

Murder at the Pumpkin Pageant is the fourth mystery in the Beacon Bakeshop series. Lindsey, owner of the Beacon Bakeshop housed in an old lighthouse, has a tendency to stumble into murder investigations. When it happens yet again, Lindsey, with her friends, Kennedy and Rory, searches for clues until she can piece together the mystery.

I have loved this series from the beginning and this latest book was no different. I love the characters in the series and the haunted lighthouse setting. This mystery was set during Halloween and that added so much to it for me since I am a big fan of Halloween themed cozy mysteries. The mysteries in this series are engaging and have you guessing until the very end. I can’t wait to see what is next for Lindsey and the gang!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book!

Murder at the Pumpkin Pageant is the 4th book in the Beacon Bakeshop series by Darci Hannah and is easily read as a standalone if you're like me and haven't read any of the previous books.

The main character, Lindsey, runs a bakery out of her converted lighthouse which is also rumoured to be haunted. When ghost hunters find the body of a local woman in Lindsey's backyard while livestreaming a video podcast on Halloween night, Lindsey feels compelled to assist in investigating the murder. Not only is there a murder to solve, but the murder seems to be tied to sunken treasure, and Lindsey and her friend Kennedy are determined to find out if the rumors about the treasure are true and how it ties to the murder.

Murder at the Pumpkin Pageant has the usual small town setting with lots of fun characters not least of whom is the ghost of Captain Willy, a former lighthouse keeper who tends to show up in the nick of time on several occasions. The characters were all interesting, with several who appeared to be suspicious, so the story kept me guessing who the culprit was and what their motive may have been.

This was a fun read, and being set in the fall and in a bakery, had mentions of all the fall pumpkin treats that you can imagine. There are even recipes at the end of the book, including one for easy Pumpkin Spice Latte. (I want to try the Pumpkin Scones with Maple Glaze, personally.)

I enjoyed reading Murder at the Pumpkin Pageant, and recommend it, especially if you curl up with a Pumpkin Pie Martini (another recipe from the book), while you read. I'll probably go back and check out earlier books in this series.

Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the advanced copy of this book to review. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
