This is a good book. The two main characters are Phoebe and Jax. They have known each other for awhile. They both at a party, an attraction hits both of them at once. They start dating. They start finding out one another. They each have issues but together they work them out and fall in love.

This book is about Jax Hudson, a benevolent character always ready to help others. He eagerly anticipates spending Christmas with his girlfriend, only to be blindsided when she abruptly ends their relationship. In comes Phoebe Bishop, a character with unresolved matters with Jax from the previous summer. Their paths cross once more at a Christmas Eve party where, due to a sudden storm and power outage, they're thrust into a situation requiring them to lead the community to safety. This unexpected event leads to them spending more time together, leaving them to question whether there are deeper feelings at play, or if it's better for them to remain just friends.

The tale of Jax and Phoebe is delightful and captivating. Phoebe's character particularly enthralled me, offering more depth than initially anticipated. I find her interactions with Jax particularly compelling. Her delightful nature pairs exceptionally well with Jax, enhancing the charm of the story. Overall, I found it to be a truly enjoyable reading experience.

The love story that plays out between Phoebe and Jax comes with its own baggage, but it just goes into building a better foundation in which to grow...or at least it would if they can just come out and voice their interest to move things along!

Mother nature takes things into her own hands with a snowstorm leaving them fairly stuck, and sort of stranded, throwing them together as they work to get others home, and then tend to their own creature comforts. Now be warned, this is slow build to eventual slow burn, so put on the breaks and enjoy it for what it is...a story about a man and a woman. They knew each other as friends of friends, one developed a secret crush never to be acted upon unless the time was right, and here we are with the perfect opportunity, if they'll let go of their own insecurities to pursue their own unique happily-ever-after.

It was great getting to know these two. The kindness in their hearts was only outshined by the love in their actions. They were genuine with others and eventually each other, leading to that potential balanced coupledom we all strive for. No one was perfect, and everyone had room to grow, but in a pinch they all pitched in to get the job done, driving home once again the beauty of small town like. So take a chance on this little beauty for your next reading escape!

Chasing Dreams on Sunshine Island by Georgina Troy

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Blurb

Jax Hudson doesn’t mind the cold. He’s still wearing shorts and walking barefoot on the beach. He’s looking forward to spending the season with his girlfriend until she unexpectedly calls time on their relationship. Alone and feeling very sorry for himself, Jax accepts an invitation to a Christmas Eve party and bumps into Phoebe Bishop who is still mortified about kissing him in the previous summer. As the first snow flurries delight the party guests, the festive joy soon turns to disaster when a snowstorm knocks out the island's power. Panic ensues as people realise their holiday plans may have to be cancelled. Phoebe is reluctantly enlisted by Jax to help transport the partygoers to the comforts of their own homes. As Jax and Phoebe spend time together they realise they have more in common than either had imagined… Could this be a holiday season full of magic, mistletoe and happy-ever-afters?

My Opinion

Winter has arrived on Sunshine Island, so for this visit there isn't much sunshine. This is part of the Sunshine Island series but it would work well as a standalone. Jax is such a kind hearted character, he wants to be around for Billy even when he learns that Beth isn't ready for a new relationship - even going out of his way in a snow storm to check on them.

Another delightful read from Georgina Troy. This was a quick and easy read. Whilst set around Christmas, this book can be read at any time of year.

Rating 4/5

I enjoyed this book very much. The story was great and I loved the characters and the way the story unfolded. A sweet, easy read . My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

This is my third visit to the Sunshine Island and once again I desperately want to go there now, but perhaps not so much at Christmas time.

When I started this book I was surprised to find it was set in December. Nevertheless, I loved being back on Jersey with familiar people and this time getting to know Jax, Piper's cousin, a whole lot better. It felt like a warm hug being back in the familiar setting and there was enough going on to keep me entertained from start to end. As with the other books in this series, you really get to know the characters as the story develops and it feels as if you are right there with them. I hope we will get another trip to Sunshine Island!

Third book in the series and set in the winter but not a Christmas novel. Good characters ( it helps if you have read the previous books ) and the setting is lovely. 4 stars.

Thanks to Netgally and publisher for this ARC

My Thoughts :
This story, Chasing Dreams on Sunshine Island is the third book in the Sunshine Island series, set in Jersey and in the winter months leading upto the New Year.
It can be read as a standalone but I think its better to of read the first two books so you can familiarize yourself with the characters and the basis of the storylines.
We meet Jax Hudson, who is such a kind person and would do anything for anyone.
He is especially is looking forward to spending Christmas with his girlfriend, thats until she unexpentantly ends their relationship.
Add to the mix, Phoebe Bishop, Phoebe and Jax has unfinished business from last Summer.
When they meet up again at the Christmas Eve party, they are forced to work together as a community when there is a storm and powercut and they have to transport the people from the party to somewhere safe. This leads them to spending more time together and will they realise there is feelings there or do they think its better to stay friends!?.
Georgina Troy always writes a captivating story and this was no different as she makes you fall in love with the characters and their lives at this special time of year.
Great descriptive surroundings, that make you feel you are part of the story. Full of friendship, Love and Commuinty spirit, this is one I couldnt put down and look forward to more very soon from this Author.

Jax is a special character, he still lives with his parents, likes waking barefoot on the beach, no matter how cold it is and has the biggest heart.

Still recovering from a broken heart he accepts an invitation to a Christmas party. There he bumps into Phoebe. When there is a snowstorm, Phoebe and Jax have to work together to transport the people. And the more time they spend together, the closer they get.

It's a standalone book in the series, but I felt like it would be nice to read in order, so I would get to know all of the characters.

It is set on an island, in a small town in the winter. The romance developed slooowly, but worth the wait. It's a quick read, but worth the time.

I got the ARC, all thoughts are my own

My Review: This is an enjoyable easy to follow story told from the perspectives of Phoebe and Jax. We also meet the gorgeous Seamus and a host of other characters such as Beth and her son Billy, Piper and Alex, Fliss, Dillys, Aunt Helen and more. We have bad weather over Christmas, power cuts, kisses, love and more. A Sweet and engaging. A recommended read.

Chasing Dreams on Sunshine Island is a nice, easy breezy charming romance.

To say I was excited about Jax’s story is a bit of an understatement. I fell in love with Jax’s character right from the first time he appeared in Finding Love on Sunshine Island (the first book in this series). There was just something about his character that drew me to him. Jax comes off as this carefree and always happy guy, but I felt there was much more to his character. This was an enjoyable and fast read. It felt like it had focus and was more cohesive than the previous book. This story is set around Christmas time, but it doesn’t have a lot of holiday vibes, which I really liked. It was a lot of fun hanging out with Jax and Phoebe.

Both Jax and Phoebe have been secondary characters in the previous two books. Phoebe has had a crush on Jax right from the first book, but he hasn’t shown any interest in her until this book. Jax’s story was everything I could have hoped for. I was right; his character had a lot of depth, and I loved slowly peeling back those layers to see what lurked underneath that charming exterior. I love Phoebe’s character, which surprised me a bit. There is much more to her than I expected, and I enjoy watching her interact with Jax. She was delightful, and her character complemented Jax’s character so well. The romance in this story is sweet and charming, something I have come to expect with Georgina’s books. These two are thrown together when a snowstorm hits the island, and it is great watching their chemistry grow as they spend more time together.

Chasing Dreams on Sunshine Island is a light and fun pick-me-up read and a great next installment in the Sunshine Island series.

Thank you, Boldwood Books and Rachel Random Resources, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this book and its small town vibes. I love the Christmas setting in this book it feels so cosy, It was so easy to get lost in and i flew through the pages. The characters are so well written, with a depth to them that makes you feel everything they do. I love the slow burn relationship with Pheobe and Jax it felt so natural and I was so sad when it ended.

What a sweet book! I absolutely loved Jax and Phoebe (though I will admit that at times, Phoebe could be annoying). All of the characters in this book, minus Fliss, felt genuine. One of my favorite things that an author can do is make me want to live in the characters’ world. Troy was successful with this endeavor. I want to go live amongst this community. Everyone is so nice and so helpful. It could renew my faith in humanity! While this does take place at Christmastime, it’s really used as a backdrop and can be enjoyed any time of the year. I haven’t read the other two books in this series, but not for a moment did I feel like I was missing out on anything. This book is so enjoyable, it’s easy to fly through it! I hope that there’s more in store for Phoebe and Jax. I would love to be taken along on their journey. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a feel good, clean romance book.

It was enjoyable getting to know Jax on a deeper level and also Phoebe who I really knew nothing about as she was more of a background character in previous books. Although set at Christmas time it can really be read and enjoyed at any time of year as it's not overly festive. It's a very easy to get into book and the time flew while I was reading it, I read it in one sitting in a few hours. I loved the setting of sand and surf. If you want a beautifully written, fun, romance with community and a little bit of festivities then you can't go past Chasing Dreams on Sunshine Island.

Chasing Dreams on Sunshine Island is the third and final book in the Sunshine Island series by Georgina Troy but can easily be read as a standalone book – however, to truly get to know each of the characters really well, I would suggest reading the series. This story in the series focuses on Jax Hudson, who is looking forward to spending Christmas with his girlfriend. That is until she ends their relationship completely unexpectedly.

With all his Christmas plans ruined, Jax decides to stop feeling sorry for himself. Accepting an invite to a Christmas Eve party – the last person he expects to see there is Phoebe – who is still totally mortified about kissing Jax the previous summer. Phoebe is also shocked to see Jax at the party – thinking she had done a really good job of avoiding him as much as she possibly could.

But when the festive snowy weather turns into a freak snowstorm, it seems that both Jax and Phoebe have no choice and can’t avoid each other. Will the festive feeling bring Jax and Phoebe close together once more? Or are they truly meant to just keep avoiding each other forever more?

Chasing Dreams on Sunshine Island is such a lovely, uplifting and heartwarming story, with beautifully written characters, and even though we are in Spring, it really is the perfect festive read to curl up on a Saturday afternoon with and lose yourself for a few hours.

Book 3 in the Sunshine Island series ~ yes a standalone, but previous book characters make appearances.
It's not so sunny on Sunshine Island this time around. A big snowstorm has hit just in time to make Christmas rather interesting.

Featuring ~ dual 3rd person POV, island life, small town, slow burn, no steamage

Jax & Phoebe were super awkward with each for pretty much most of the book. Their relationship developed very slowly, almost so slowly that I wasn't sure it was going to happen at all.

Jax was the most kindhearted character I have ever met. You can count of him to drop everything if he is needed no matter the circumstances. Phoebe was really sweet and a bit of a pushover when it comes to Fliss, but luckily she finally saw the light with her.

A thing I really like with this series is the small town vibe. Everyone is always willing to help out anyone that needs it. I loved how they helped Helier, a widowed elderly gentlemen.

Overall, a quick and easy read ~ not my favorite in the series, but a good addition to it nonetheless since we've been waiting for Jax's story.

I had quite a surprise to find that this third in the series was set firmly in Winter, from December through Christmas to the New Year, but actually I soon settled into the season and enjoyed the story. Jack is a gorgeous character who is so kind and thoughtful. The whole community shines in this story and really pulls together, looking out for the more vulnerable and offering friendship.

You also have the contrast between the unselfish friendship offered to all and the self-centred behaviour of Phoebe’s so-called friend, Fliss. Similarly, family life is contrasted, with the close knit family life of Jax as opposed to Phoebe’s much more distant childhood. Phoebe may have all the material things you can imagine but lacks the genuine non- judgmental affection which Jax has experienced. Full of warmth and kindness, this is an enjoyable romance which leaves you with a smile on your face.

In short: uplifting romance with a seasonal mood

This is a lovely read, one I finished in one sitting as I just couldn’t put it down once I started it. I would just note to anyone reading the synopsis and thinking they might not want to read a Christmas book at this time, or maybe just don’t like Christmas etc, I definitely can tell you this book can be read anytime , it really isn’t too festive or focused on that.

This is the third book in the Sunshine Island series , each book focuses on a different couple, however, I think you need to read all three books personally to get the best experience, you might be able to read as a stand-alone, but I think you’ll miss out on so much and things won’t mean as much to you. I loved returning to Jersey, I’ve never been myself but I feel whenever I read Georgina Troy’s descriptions that I’m there , her writing is so beautiful and atmospheric I’m definitely going to have to visit she’s inspired me so much.

Georgina writes such wonderful and relatable characters, I live most of them but I love Jax the most, it was lovely learning so much more about him, Phoebe is wonderful too and I adore the whole supportive community on Sunshine Island, you can see why Phoebe feels at home there. The storyline is so good, I loved the humour and so much banter, it’s just so much joy to read and I highly recommend this and the full series.

Whatever the time of year
This festive read will bring good cheer.
Set on Jersey, the Sunshine Island, once more
This is a heartwarming read I totally adore.

Jax Hudson has a heart of gold,
But all his relationships - so far - have run cold.
He loves being outdoors, whatever the weather,
As for dressing up, that's almost never!

Phoebe Bishop seems his antithesis in many ways,
But maybe they have more in common these days?
When snow falls trapping revellers at a Christmas Eve do,
Together these two come to others' rescue.

Helping others then celebrating Christmas with his family,
They spend time together and start to see
That maybe they have more in common than they thought
And to give their potential romance a chance they ought!

A story where community and family at its heart
Welcoming others to join in the fun and take part.
I really enjoyed virtually visiting Jersey, once more,
And visiting parts of the island I'd like to explore.

A fun read, set over the festive time
To miss out on this should perhaps be a crime!
For my complementary copy, I say a huge thank you,
As I share with you this, my honest review.
