This is the third book in the series set in Jersey and it was lovely to be back. Our focus this time is Jax and Phoebe.

Jax has been one of my favourite characters so far, so it was lovely to have a book featuring him. He comes across as such a lovely, kindhearted and loyal man, and with wee Seamus by his side what more could you want. Pheobe is the quiet friend of the annoying Fliss and it was great getting to know her.

The author writes such warm and relatable characters and the focus on family life and community spirit just shines through. It's lovely to have cameo appearances from characters in the other 2 books. The book is set over the festive period and although there is plenty love and laughter there is also sadness and drama.

Another lovely read and I do hope there will be more to come.

Another visit to the Island but this time in Winter and at Christmas although it isn't heavy on the Christmas theme so can be read at any time of year.
This time the story centres on Jax and Phoebe who we met in the 2nd book. They start out as friends but both start to wonder if they can become more
A lovely easy read

I didn't realise this was book 3 in a series, it did deflect a bit as I didn't have some of the back story but there were snippets so didn't spoil the story too much, lovely characters, it does touch on christmas but not enough to make it a christmas book, its a really easy read when round the pool.

I was really looking forward to the third installment of this series and I wasn't disappointed. Jax is such a lovely character and so deserving of a happy ending so I was intrigued as to how that would work out after the events of the last book. The end result was definitely worth the wait and so very romantic. It was also great to catch up with some of the other characters and of course the lovely Jersey island especially with such a festive arc to the story. Already looking forward to the next book.

THE BLURB:
Jax Hudson doesn’t mind the cold. He’s still wearing shorts and walking barefoot on the beach. He’s looking forward to spending the season with his girlfriend until she unexpectedly calls time on their relationship.

Alone and feeling very sorry for himself, Jax accepts an invitation to a Christmas Eve party and bumps into Phoebe Bishop who is still mortified about kissing him in the previous summer.

As the first snow flurries delight the party guests, the festive joy soon turns to disaster when a snowstorm knocks out the island's power. Panic ensues as people realise their holiday plans may have to be cancelled.

Phoebe is reluctantly enlisted by Jax to help transport the partygoers to the comforts of their own homes. As Jax and Phoebe spend time together they realise they have more in common than either had imagined…

Could this be a holiday season full of magic, mistletoe and happy-ever-afters?

MY REVIEW:
A super quick, easy read, finished in under an hour. Although set at Christmas, this book can be read at any point throughout the year as it is not too festive. If you are after an all round feel good book, with no angst or depth, give this book a go.

RATING:
3.5/5

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I really enjoyed reading this book.

Whilst at a party, theirs is a power cut, so Jax and Phoebe help to get those at the party to their homes or a better place where they can rest. In doing so, they get to know each other better.

I loved the characters, and the storyline. I read it in one sitting.

I recommend this book.

It’s been wonderful to be back on Jersey again for this the third in the Sunshine Island series. Georgina Troy writes such relatable characters and having met him in a previous story, I must admit to having a soft spot for Jax. Getting to know him better in this story has been brilliant and the community around him are so supportive. I’ve loved the ease at which Phoebe was able to feel at home both in the guest house and with Jax’s family and could immediately understand why she felt at home right away. With the beautiful beaches described so vividly I could almost imagine being with Jax at the beach hut watching the waves.

It was lovely to be reading another Georgina Troy book. Which are always so uplifting, romantic and fun.

In this book we meet Phoebe who is a lovely, kind hearted soul. It was also lovely to catch up again with Floss and Jax. This is a Christmas book but can be read at any time of year. It is quick and very readable. Offering lovely escapism.

A lovely story between two people who at the start always seem to be saying or interpreting each others words or actions in the wrong way, as the book unfolds they settle down and become more in tuned to each other, both helpful in their interaction with other people who live on the island. Not very strong on romance but Jax comes through in the end, perfect romantic makeover of his beach hut hideout.

I really enjoyed this book! Phoebe and Ajax were such fresh characters. I enjoyed seeing them interact especially after their awkward run in last summer. A power outage ensues and tasked with getting the partygoers to a safe space they spend time together and they find out it may not be so awkward to be together after all! I loved the storyline, characters, dialogue and banter, it was a great refreshing read and I found myself flying through it in just a few sittings, I will definitely be checking out more books from Georginai the future, I know our readers will live her books as well and I am so excited to incorporate them into our collection

Great to be back in Jersey . Can read as a stand alone. This was a very intense love story told between two characters. Jax and Phoebe. It was told in chapters one Jax and one Phoebe. I loved all the family part. I have to be honest I did not like Phoebe. But the story was lovely and a good happy ending.

A very cute and cozy read. Everyone (except for nasty Fliss) was so nice and helpful to others which was lovely to read about. Loved the younger kids helping out the older neighbors etc. my one gripe would be characters recalling things from other books, the details don’t need to be there.

This book was sweet and I believe it was part of a series.

Characters - The two main characters kept fighting and then kissing. It was quite an immature relationship and very little communication. They both weren't even fully sure if they would fit into each other's lives throughout the book.

Plot - I just feel like a lot of the plot was simply following the characters in their daily lives - for example, there was a snow storm and an elderly person fell down and they'd help them. Then there was a dog that got stuck and they'd help them. We read about their Christmas Eve and Christmas lunch, but nothing monumental happens. Not tooo much of a plot. But an easy read.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for an ARC. All reviews are my own.

I have started this book but when speaking to the author, I need to read the first two as I thought I'd be able to read as a standalone. I do plan to read all three books then post the reviews to my website, Laura's Book Euphorium

It was fabulous to finally get to know Jax a lot better, and for him to have a real love interest.

Phoebe hadn't really been on my radar from the previous books, so I thoroughly enjoyed learning all about her. And she is so different from her trouble making best friend Fliss. Phoebe is very kind hearted and when the snow falls on Christmas Eve, seeing her and Jax team up to check everyone is ok is heartwarming to see.

They do seem to keep rubbing each other up the wrong way, and thus nothing is quite as simple as it seems.

The book is set at Christmas but can easily be read at any time of the year, it isn't overly festive, rather using is as a backdrop to a winter based story on the island. It was also great to catch up with characters from the previous books.

I found this a really quick book to read which I read over the course of a day. It was such a pleasure to enjoy these words and the escapism this story provides, especially given the various dramatic happenings.

Another winner is this really entertaining series.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher and the author. Looking for romance…family and friends. The protagonist is likable as are some of the other characters. Chasing dreams…even the title is intriguing. Enjoy this quick read by a talented author.
