I just finished reading and listening to this book. While it was a very interesting premise and the storyline was engaging, I felt that it could have used a bit more backstory and detail. There were a number of times early in the book that some detail would be presented to the reader as if it was a general and known fact, when in fact it had never been mentioned or even hinted at previously. Unfortunately, I do not have exact examples of this, but I do recall that some had to with with weapons or capabilities of the Andrones, some of the backstory for Paxton, and other details surrounding the world that Paxton lived in.

At first, I thought maybe the book was being mysterious or purposefully thin on details and that it would all be brought together later in the book, but that never seemed to happen. Overall, the story made sense and the read was enjoyable; I just felt that there was some lacking detail that could have made this book go from good to great.

All that said, I will still be looking for the next in the series as I believe the author and the story have a ton of potential!

Pretty good. This is a decent story, and includes interesting characters. I stayed mostly engaged and like the author's writing style.

I am a newer fan for SciFi and have been trying out different authors and different genres, while I enjoyed this book I feel like our patrons would love it more!

Dwain Worrell has a great writing style for a scifi novel, it had everything that I wanted from the genre. I enjoyed how terrifying the Ninety-Nine event was and that I enjoyed going through this with the characters. It overall worked and I enjoyed what I read.

I think this was a bit too militari-y for my taste. I got to a point where I had to search army rankings in order to understand the relevance of what was happening because I kept getting lost in who was who.
This was well written but not really my jam, I think.

Sargeant Paxton controls a semi-automated fighting machine. He doesn't know who he is fighting or where they are fighting. It's an interesting novel.

A hard core military adventure that is sometimes hard to follow, but over all good for those that like the genre.

This was my first military science fiction book and while I ultimately don't think the subgenre is for me, this was an interesting look into the possibilities of it. I also always appreciate any book that questions the purpose of war and seeing the effects of it on those on the front lines. There were a few twists and turns in here too that I thought made sense and worked well.

Overall, Androne will please most military sci-fi readers, I imagine, and get a few more into the subgenre.
