Even though I am normally not a fan of the fake relationship trope, this book was really nice to read. The way Andi ended up in Sara and Noas house was a little far fetched but aside from that all the interactions felt real. I liked how Andi and Sara were just regular people in regular jobs trying to make the best out of life and raising a child. The budding relationship between Noa and Andi was very sweet to read so this book made sure I had a heartwarming weekend.

I really enjoyed this novel. This is a new author for me and you never know if you take a chance on a different author whether you'll be pleased when you've finished the book. What drew me to this book were the fake girl-friend trope and that one of the main characters had a child. I loved Sarah. I loved Andi. Her childhood story was heartbreaking. I loved loved loved Noa. Noa is such a smart sensitive and wonderful child. I loved Sarah and Andi as a couple. I adored the relationship that develops between Andi and Noa. Her hero worship of Andi is just precious. Imitating her mannerisms and wanting to be her apprentice was so special to witness. Her bargaining and negotiating for her salary is hilarious. The grandmother who is unhappy with the distant relationship with her daughter thinks she has a second chance with the granddaughter but wants to raise her the exact same way she raised her daughter and thinks this time she will have a close relationship is the exact definition of insanity. How she thinks there will be closeness when she so cold and never seems to want to spend time with Noa. I'm not a crier but the scene where Andi is telling Noa that no one besides Noa has ever told her they loved her and then Noa jumps in Andi's arms to give her a hug was so touching I almost cried. So I definitely recommend this novel, especially if you love children and give it 5 stars.

I am not a huge fan of fake dating tropes, but the characters Cheyenne Blue created in this story are some of my favorites. The slow burn really made this an easy read I found hard to put down.

Andi, Sarah and Noa are the main characters in the book. Sarah and Noa are mother and daughter, Andi is Sarah's friend. Sarah's ex in laws are having a problem with Sarah raising Noa by herself. When they show up and want Noa to live with them, Andi steps in and says that she is helping raise Noa. The start of the fake relationship. However, as with all fake relationships, there comes the realization that the more time you spend with someone you will find common ground and then possibly more. Andi does not want the responsibility of a child, but there is something about Noa that is making her change her mind.
I would recommend.

This was my first book by this author. The reasoning behind one of the characters moving in with the other felt quite far fetched but nevertheless the two leads had chemistry and the build up to their relationship felt believable. What struck me the most was Andi’s relationship with Sarah’s child Noa, which was really sweet. Overall it was a well written and engaging book that I enjoyed reading.

Sarah's in laws decide to pay her an unexpected visit to see their granddaughter and casually mention that she is not up for the task of taking care of Noa, their daughter's biological child and Sarah's ex-wife. In a whim of trying to protect Sarah from this unpleasant visit, Andi tells them Sarah is not alone, in fact they are dating.

This story was interesting and at times furiating when Sarah had to deal with her ex in laws. The audacity of some people thinking they would be better parents just because they have more money really irked me.

The author did an amazing job in writing the characters. There is depth in their storylines and I was really interested in all of it. My only disappointment was that there wasn't enough of Kristin and pizza nights.

The love story between Sarah and Andi develops gradually but both did make it harder on themselves than it should have been.

An ARC was provided to me via Netgalley in return of an honest review.

Beautiful story with some amazing characters that the author took the time to really develop. Slow burn romances can be frustrating because you’re waiting for something to happen, but this story kept me engrossed with them getting to know each other through angst, humor, grief, happiness and everything in between. Well written and delightful to the very end. Thank you to the author, Ylva publishers, and NetGalley for the advance read in exchange for an honest review.

This was a delightful story about two folks figuring out some things about themselves while falling together. I didn't always love Sarah or Andi, but I was always rooting for them to find happiness (and beat out Sarah's heinous former in-laws). As someone who has complicated relationships with my kiddo's grandparents sometimes, this book was actually hard to read at certain points. But I am glad I came back to it for the reward of seeing the HEA for Sarah and Andi. Also, Sarah's kiddo Noa was a true delight and might have been my favorite character out of the whole cast (as a lesbian mom myself).

Sarah, a single Mum to sweet seven year old Noa, gets a surprise visit from her ex-wife's parents who begin to show an interest in looking after Noa. However, Andi having had an horrible childhood (and that's putting it lightly), decides to step in and announce that she's Sarah's partner in the attempt to help Sarah out.

However, what Andi thought was a harmless lie turns out to slowly backfire. Andi goes from wanting nothing to do with kids to living with one as Sarah's fake partner.

While I am still cautious about the single parent with a young child trope, I have started to enjoy it more and more.

Blue does an excellent job of portraying the characters and their individualities. All three (Andi, Sarah & Noa) characters are loveable and as I progressed through the book I really wanted the best for each of them.

I loved the bond Andi had with Noa. While in the beginning, Andi may have not known how to treat Noa, throughout the story we see the slow progress of their relationship and Blue makes it as realistic as possible.

Unfortunately beside those great points, I felt that the book fell flat for me. I've come to know what to expect of Blue's book but I really couldn't feel the spark between the two MCs in this one. Even when the two shared their first kiss, I was left wondering if it was a dream or it really happened and it felt a little premature. I always felt as though certain characters could have played a bigger role in the story. Kristin's character wasn't utilised as much which was a shame as they seemed to share quite a close bond with both MCs so it would have been nice to see Kristin's relationships with them.

Overall though, it was a decent and quick weekend read.

This was a truly outstanding book by Cheyenne Blue that pulled at my heartstrings and taught me that bad experiences in childhood can be healed if you are open to love. The book chronicles the fear of getting into a relationship with the mother of a young child, even initially in a fake relationship scenario. 4.5 stars

This has been a false relationship book with a girl included that usually would have been to my liking but this time it has not fully met my expectations. Andi's reluctance has been based on too simple reasons. I understand her childhood traumas, but she has taken too long to appreciate the charms of Sarah and her daughter Noa. Really too much. And Sarah has been too correct and understanding, perhaps at some point she should have gotten more firm with Andi. I believe that my lack of general assessment has been due to the reiteration in the denial and for it being based on reasons that could be overcome with a little reflection.

And of course, my displeasure has been caused entirely and completely by Rosalind.

I must admit that in the end, as was also expected, the story has improved a lot and has ended up being acceptable.

But Rosalind has been too much.

The premise of this book is that Sarah and Andi start a fake relationship, because Rosaland (Sarah's MIL) want's to sue for full custody of her grand-daughter. We all know where this is going to end, but it's how the story takes us there that counts.

Rosalind - a walking red flag with flashing lights. I found the parts from her perspective interesting because, normally you'd expect that to give you a deeper backstory that humanises the character a bit. This one didn't. We're shown she's as selfish and self-absorbed as we already expected. Her pov just makes seem her incredibly delusional to think she's actually doing the right thing. Usually this character is infuriating to read, but I found her hilarious because it was so ridiculous to think she could even.

Andi/Noa (child) - I enjoyed how their relationship grew throughout the story. As someone who is childfree, it felt natural and realistic. Not wanting children doesn't equal not liking them. Of course, she grew to love Noa and to want that step-parent relationship, but that's not always a given and her process to get there flowed well.

Sarah - irked me a lot of the time. She took too long to stand up for herself. While I appreciate the initial shock that would have come with the surprise, I found it odd that she assumed it would be that easy for Rosalind to take Noa. Admittedly, I don't know how child laws work in Australia, but given her ex's relationship with Rosalind, plus that Noa was clearly happy and safe with Sarah (if slightly undisciplined), it just didn't make sense to me that she wouldn't give a better fighting impression.
I personally don't think the fake relationship was necessary in this situation, but I enjoy the interactions they had together. It felt more like a nice touch, as opposed to an important plot device.

On the whole, I enjoyed this. It didn't have the tension I'm more used to with these stories, but I appreciated that in this case. It was like the lighter version and made for an easier read.

I was able to read a copy thanks to Netgalley and the publisher!

Andi doesn’t want children due to her past but one day while drinking with her friends she pretends to be Sarah’s partner after her ex parent in laws ambush her with a lawsuit to gain custody of their granddaughter Noa. While it doesn’t seem right pretending, Andi witnesses the honestly cruelty the mother in law is putting Sarah threw and continues the facade seeing how much Sarah loves Noa.

I really enjoyed the book and how it explores dating as a parent and dating as someone who doesn’t want kids. The characters were adorable and you are able to love them all so quickly.

I highly recommend reading this book!!

Sarah is single mom to a daughter Noa when her ex in laws show up unannounced asking to spend time with Noa they think more so the grandmother Rosalind she isn’t fit to raise their granddaughter and decides to sue for custody. Andi is Sarah friend thinking she helping she tells them she Sarah girlfriend thinks that’ll be the end of it but it’s wasn’t now they both have pretend they are in relationship. Sarah who trying to do right by her daughter and herself tries not to fall for Andi who hasn’t had a great upbringing doesn’t do relationships especially with children even though I think that was a cop out because I thinks that’s what would make a great relationship because you know what not to do even if sometimes you do do something wrong. This was a great read I enjoy the characters the slow burn of romance with Sarah and Andi.

Where do I start? Not For a Moment was giving fake dating from the blurb. When Sarah’s mother in law shows up threatening to claim custody of her daughter Noa, her friend Andi impulsively helps out be appearing as Sarah’s stable and consistent partner in their lives to show the mother in law that Noa lived a rounded life. At first, I assumed this would take similar progression as any other romantic comedy with the fake dating trope. I was wrong and I’m happy about that. It was a very contemporary read that focused on the two main characters and the daughter in a way that felt… real(?) to me.

Sarah: I like how, normal(?) she feels on the pages. She works a decent paying job with decent hours with a shitty boss like many of us do. She love’s her kid to the moon and back and would do anything to keep her in her care.

Andi: The way her attachment issues were handled and discussed… I’m still processing that but I like how we go on this journey with her as she plays partner and step parent almost for a child when we’re introduced to her as the child free single friend who enjoys being alone. The way she falls for Sarah also feels … real. I liked that she fell for the daughter before she realizes how much she also loves the mother. To me it felt like a big step up as a character.

Rosalind: the mother in law and antagonist. I honestly did not and still do not understand why she tried to take a child from their mother because she felt like she provided her own kid with a poor home life growing up only to take the exact same approach?? Yes, she was only doing this to make herself look good and to fit in with all her other friends who were active grandparents. But Rosalind wasn’t that and it just made her a walking red flag and I liked how Andi was able to see that immediately upon meeting her.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story. Its pacing was nice and smooth. The conflict was realistic for the most part and same were the characters. The daughter was a delight to read and her interactions with Andi really makes you smile.

I very much enjoyed this relationship of convenience and budding love story between Sarah and Andi.

A good amount of tense interactions were derived from Sarah’s ex In-laws with their battle for custody of her daughter Noa. Mostly spearheaded by her mother-in-law. Sarah’s anxieties over loosing her daughter were palpable. While Rosalind’s intentions leaned towards reliving a heathy relationship through her granddaughter she refuses to except what how her selfish actions affect Sarah and Noa.

The sexual tension between Sarah and Andi was quite enjoyable. Stolen glances and lingering hands helped draw the lovers closer to their true feelings.

Andi, despite her best efforts, attempts to stay out of the fray. And then finds herself slowly falling for the warmth of the familial home Sarah and Noa have built.

The misgivings both Sarah and Andi held over taking their fake relationship into a loving one was realistic. Cheyenne Blue beautiful captures the fear and hesitation the two woman harbor. And brings the story into a satisfying conclusion.

Sarah is being hassled by her ex in-laws as they try to get custody of their grand-daughter Noa. Their reasoning being that as a single working parent she can’t give Noa the attention she needs. When this is first broached a friend, Andi, steps in and says she is Srah’s partner so Noa has two parents and the grand-parents needn’t worry. Needless to say this doesn’t resolve the situation. This is the story of Sarah and Andi and Andi and Noa getting to know each other, defining the parameters of their “relationship” and dealing with the escalating custody battle. Sarah’s ex is a doctor working in a place not easily reachable by phone etc. so Sarah is unable contact her to clarify if she is in agreement with what is happening. Andi’s upbringing was not the happiest so there is a bit of angst (not a lot mainly some wee sad feeling bits) when Sarah and Andi are trying to decide how they really feel about each other.
I think this a well written book that kept my attention throughout.
