I'm not going to claim that this book will teach you chemistry. Or even that you'll walk away with an understanding of the particular elements mentioned in the text. It would be best used to reinforce a chemistry lesson. A kid who is struggling to grasp how the elements are used in the real world might find this one useful.

My first thought when I opened this book was, why wasn't this around 30 years ago when I had to learn the periodic table! I definitely would have remember it.

Each page had dedicated to a unicorn names after an element. There are facts about each of the elements, with fantastic illustrations.

The book was fun and enjoyable to look at and flick through. I'm sure as they work their way through, my kids will retain slot of info with out realising they are studying.

I will admit that when I picked up this book for the first time I was a little overwhelmed at what I had gotten myself into. I ended up watching the cute YouTube book trailer and it all clicked (plus the catchy song would not get out of my head)! It was a great book that is packed with information that is perfect for not only middle school students but also for anyone interested in the periodic table.

What a lovely way of saying, “science can be fun.” This is a unique and whimsical way of teaching kids the periodic table. The cover and the illustrations of this little book are excellent. There was one issue, and that was the pages. There were too many things happening at once on one page.

As great as the cover looks, the book doesn't translate well to ebook. The pages look too small. It could be the format I received. I couldn't read the words. I was truly looking forward reading this.

I am an unapologetic nerd when it comes to the Periodic Table but by the time I'm done teaching the unit, my fifth graders love it too. Here is a great book to help my students learn. Not too wordy, but filled with clever facts and some mystery too. I love the use of Latin and German root words also.

I wish it had been aligned with more of our standards, but this was a nice read through. We are doing HMH's Module J right now and it's dry so I was hoping I could pull a couple ideas from Durant's book. This appears to be a fabulous resource I would love to incorporate next year when we do this unit again.

Thank you Netgalley and the Publisher for making an ARC available.

This is an alphabet book that I never would have expected to see! It is centered around different types of metals, as introduced by unicorns. Each page is packed with information about the metal. My favorite sections were where the metal can be found and the "Did you know?" facts.

I can see myself showing this to my high school Chemistry students and I bet many will get a kick out of it! There's plenty of additional information about the periodic table in the back of the book that is also useful to a Chemistry student.

This was such a fun book! Never mind kids, I’m in my 30s and I loved it 😂 amazing illustrations and makes learning fun (made me remember/relearn my chemistry lessons). Definitely kids will love this as it’ll make chemistry more fun for them. Highly recommend.
