Thank you NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book. I too fell in love in the same progression of the books’s love interests. With the backdrops of NYC(lived there), Nashville(I want to go there), working in skyrise buildings(WTC pre-911), I related in so many ways with the characters. The slow but well- developed relationship was a fun read and throw in the assortment of friends and family created an entertaining dynamic to the characters. I don’t like to pull in a synopsis of the book or excerpts in my reviews but suffice it to say I liked this book and kind of annoyed with myself for delaying starting it and finishing it.

It's been a minute since I read a workplace romance that I actually liked so this one was a delightful little treat! Casey and Alex were vying for the same job so there is a hint of enemies to lovers at the beginning but they quickly lean into their chemistry both at work and outside of the office. I definitely appreciated the quickness which the enemies portion of the story was resolved.
As the relationship gets more serious Casey has to keep some big secrets, because of her job on the finance team, which causes a rift between the two. The drama at the end felt a little bit rushed to me and I wanted even more to that part of the story but overall I thought this one had everything you want in a contemporary romance: NYC, fun but meddling friends, cute banter and swoony elevator kisses.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Really enjoyed reading this book, I read it over a few days, and couldn't wait to get back to reading it.

I really liked Love Interest. It was a cute, quick read. The banter between the main characters was cute and it was nice watching them both grow. My only issue is that it was kind of forgettable. I had to look back through the book to remember what happened.
Thanks to NetGalley and St Martins Press for the e-ARC of this book. This review is my own opinion.

Love Interest was cute, fun and definitely witty. This was a quick read and the pace kept things moving along. I may be biased to workplace romances having met my boyfriend at work as well, but these types of stories just seem so much more relatable to me. The banter here was funny and you could definitely understand the chemistry.
The only reason I am giving this 3 stars instead of 4 is just because I don't think that was a very memorable read. It was fun and I am glad I read it, but I don't think it will be one that stays with me for very long.
Many thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

a classic enemies to lovers, workplace romance! i loved the characters and the banter between the two love interests and the tension was perfect!

A feel good love story.....I enjoyed seeing the relationship of Casey and Alex develop within the work world....Casey didn't let the relationship define her and still pursued what she wanted.....

This book was published by St. Martin's Press, which is unfortunately being boycotted. If the boycott reaches a resolution, I hope to come back and review this book.

Out of solidarity with my fellow readers, I will not be reviewing St. Martin's Press titles until they address the racism of their employee and what steps are being taken to mitigate the harm. This includes SMPs imprints, of which St. Martin's Griffin is one.

Love Interest was delightful! It was sweet and funny and just pefect for the light romance I was looking for.

Workplace romance done up right! 😍 Love Interest by Clare Gilmore follows Casey as she learns to work with Alex, the swoony, self assured guy who came in a got the job she applied for. These likable characters are written in a delightful way that makes you love and root for them as they learn new things about themselves and each other. ❤️
With great chemistry, entertaining conversations, adorable supporting characters, this book was an enjoyable read and had me furiously flipping pages at the end!
Book contains: mild language, smexy scene or two, LGBT side characters
Thank you @stmartinspress, @netgalley and @momentofclarety for the privilege of reading this book!

This was a cute office romance, enemies to lovers romance. Well it’s more like miscommunication to lovers romance, but whatever it worked. I like Casey and Alex’s banter and how she was so snarky with him even when though she was also crushing bad on him. I might have been a little too old for this book though, there was a lot of memes and Gen Z language that was like blah blah to me, but overall I enjoyed the story.

This is 100% a case of NOT FOR ME. I always struggle with a lot of pop culture references and the use of social media (in this case YouTube) in books. I think I am just far too old for it. I am not the target audience.

This book was so good I kept forgetting it was a debut. The build of the relationship between Casey and Alex in the classic enemies to lovers trope is so good! Not only is it enemies to lovers but it’s also a workplace romance. Both characters were so likable it made for a very quick and easy read.

I think Clare Gilmore has boundless potential in the romance space and I absolutely adore her writing style.
However, this book did make me realize that I do not enjoy office romances and I probably never will! That’s not her fault, it was just a wrong trope wrong time. I unfortunately dnf’d shortly after receiving the ARC through NetGalley and forgot about posting a review.
But a huge thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me a review copy!

Little disappointed. DNF’d at 70 percent.
This book’s writing and premise are A+ but the pacing was super off.
The characters get together kind of early and that creates a dilemma about what to do with them. I felt like the “drama” or separating indecent wasn’t getting built up enough so I ended up feeling frustrated that nothing was happening - including the final HEA.
Not bad, just not enough to keep my interest

I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

I loved how relatable both these characters are. So often we find coming-of-age stories that only relate to teen or early 20s characters so seeing characters in their late 20s still grappling with how they were raised and what that means about who they are in turn because that’s such a real part of humanity. And their romance? So full of tension and heat *chef’s kiss*
I seriously laughed out loud multiple times which I love. Towards the end, I was wondering why my eyes were wet. It’s so rare that a book forces me to express emotion outward so any author that can do that for me is a winner in my book.

thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.

I haven’t read a book this quickly in a long time. I seriously could not put this book down. The writing style is amazing! The author clearly loves NYC but not in an obvious way, more of a subtle love its flaws as well type of way that was just heart-warming to read. I also pictured this happening in an office similar to bon-appetite which made this book a little more fun in my mind. I just always end up loving books that take place in publishing or fun and enjoyable but also realistic work places, which this book 100% did.
But onto the characters1 The chemistry right off the bat was so attractive. I loved both characters as soon as we met them. I loved their banter, their conversations and their personalities. It was so fun to watch them fall in love. I was rooting for them the entire time. The plot itself was also really fun. I love the friendships, both in the workplace and outside of it. Watching Casey come into her own was so enjoyable. This book was just so well-rounded and wholesome. I don’t have a single complain and I seriously read the book in two days which is a rave review in itself.
