The LDN book 3: LOW DOSE Naltrexone, is a non-fiction book with some fantastic information in relation to numerous different things. What drew me to this book was the Depression, Long Covid and Cancer topics but I found all of the book informative and insightful. As a long - covid sufferer last year and having depression and an autoimmune condition, this book really gave me some food for thought. My mother also suffers from an autoimmune disease and has had cancer twice and I will be gifting my copy to her to see her insight to this too. This is definitely a book for discussion with medical professionals, and I want to re-read it again and highlight sections I want to do this with.I hope to read the first two books in this series for further reading and would highly recommend anyone who's suffered from any of the illnesses or conditions listed to give it a read!

Low dose Naltrexone (LDN) is currently a compounded medication successfully used to treat a wide variety of ailments. Examples are long covid, Lyme, various autoimmune conditions, gut motility/laxity in EDS & other hypermobile disorders, mold, cancer, mood disorders…the list goes on!! I was lucky enough to be prescribed it years ago, and can report that it did help my symptoms.

The LDN Book 3 is written by strong proponents of this medication. It thoroughly explains what LDN is, why it is helpful, what ailments it may be used to treat, as well as suggested treatment plans. It does seem to be focused more on informing professionals (those licensed to prescribe it) about its worth, however I learned a lot from this book as a patient.

As I stated, this is written by proponents of LDN. If you’re worried about biases, it may be reassuring to know that about 40% of this book is references to research studies and papers.

Definitely recommended. Thanks to NetGalley, The LDN Research Trust, and the editor Linda Elsegood for sharing a digital ARC in exchange for my opinions.
