What did a soldier in the British Army experience during World War I? Most probably have some idea. Death, destruction, horror, boredom, rain, cold, rats. Across the Piave, 1917-1919 is a World War I story we know while at the same time one we have never heard. The uncanny detail and description of every relevant moment is impressive and a fascinating read. I highly recommend for any history, war, or military buff.

WWI on the Italian fron was very different from the battles in France and Belgium. It was less violent but it was a different terrain and different strategies.
This book was very interesting because it's the first one I read about the British on the Italian front and I found it informative and well written.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this arc, all opinions are mine
