Bob is an imaginative indoor cat that is friends with the tenants of his building. He longs for adventure like a jungle cat. However, when he actually gets outside he realizes he is not prepared and asks for help.
This would be good for showing children that it is ok to ask others for help when you need it.

It’s a jungle out there…an urban jungle. Bob is a cat who lives in luxury. They have their entire building cuddling up to them and giving treats, pets, and play time. The members of the building all come to Jungle Cat’s rescue when the jungle gets to be too much. This was a fun book about cats, and community. The illustrations are lively, and the story is relatable.

This book gets an automatic 5-stars. Why? MY child asked me to re-read it! Twice, even! And that said, I was going to 5 stars before she even asked, because I love this cute community-driven tale.

Bob the orange tabby has a lot of human friends in his apartment building, but none of them know he is secretly…a FIERCE jungle cat! And one day, he decides to prove it by GOING OUTSIDE.

…Bob is very Orange.

Stuck up a tree, Bob calls for help, and all his apartment friends come right away, bringing the community together.

The artwork is full of bold colors and details, in a manner that makes the apartments really seem like little jungles. Bob has a lot of personality, serious cat-titude.

If you’ve got a kid who can’t get enough of cat books, this is 100% your next required pick!

This is a cute picture book that is a reminder to be kind, no matter if it's to a human or animal. I love a story that opens up conversations with children about life lessons, friendship, teamwork and being kind. The illustrations are beautiful. Vibrant and full of color.

🐈 I seriously loved this adorable picture book! It is about a cat who lives in a big city apartment building with a little girl named Pippa and her family. The cat believes he is a jungle cat, and the apartment building is his territory. While he lives with Pippa, he also wanders to other apartments to visit other people! I loved seeing how other tenants loved the cat, too!

🐈 The cat goes outside one day expecting adventure, but instead he finds danger in the crowded city streets and ends up getting stuck in a tree in front of his apartment building. Thankfully his meows were heard by the tenants who love him, and they rescued him from the tree.

🐈 The message of friendship, kindness, and teamwork is very clear in this story. It also emphasizes that no matter how bold and fierce you feel, sometimes you need help from others and it is okay to ask for it.

🐈 The illustrations are stunning! Vibrant, full-color images that were absolutely gorgeous!

🐈 One personal nitpick is that the text was very small, or at least it was in the eARC I was provided. For a children’s book, I think larger text is better.

🐈 Great message, great imagery, and its about a cat! Win Win Win!

Thank you @NetGalley and @OrcaBook for an eARC of this book, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Jungle Cat is one of the most beautifully illustrated children’s books. Each page will give you reason to stop and explore all the creative details that make it come alive. The story itself encourages young readers to find their inner sense of adventure, while still remembering when to ask for help.

Just like Bob, young readers will enjoy exploring the apartments of the friendly neighbors and searching for all the hidden details on each page. Jungle Cat encourages kids to dive deep into their own neighborhoods and see what adventures might be lurking right next door.

Bob reminds me so much of my own cat, Sandy, who also thinks he's a jungle cat. But like Bob, he doesn't know what to do with himself in the actual wild. This beautiful and heartfelt picture book is sure to win over anyone who loves cats.

My boys and I loved reading Jungle Cat! First of all, I'm a huge plant person and I plan on purchasing this book for myself after it publishes for home decor inspiration because Pearl's apartment was gorgeous! I was amazed by the details in the illustrations and all the beautiful plants. Second of all, my 3 and 5 year olds are obsessed with cats so they really enjoyed the story.

Since Pearl's apartment is full of plants, Bob the cat thinks he's a jungle cat. Jungle cats love adventure so one day Bob decides to leave the apartment building and explore. Unfortunately his adventure doesn't go as planned but learns that asking for help is important when needed.

Jungle Cat would be a perfect book for young readers.

Thank you to NetGalley and Orca Book Publishers for allowing me to be an early reader. All opinions are my own.

I used to have an inside cat that spent the first 6 months of his life outside. Once we adopted him, he wanted nothing to do with the outside. But we had these fake plants hanging on the wall. He would always look around first to make sure no one was watching before he dove right in them and acted silly. He was a 'secret' jungle cat. This book reminded me of him.

I think anyone, especially cat lover's, would enjoy Jungle Cat. The artwork is beautiful and bright. It shows you can have adventure and love and safety in your own little communities. And that's all any of us could ask for.

I will consider Jungle Cat for our library acquisitions. 🍃🐈

I read this book to my daughter and she loved it! She loves anything with beautiful illustrations and easy to comprehend for her. We talked about how the cat has great relationships with his friends and that they will always be there to help. That’s how it should be in the real world. Friends should be there for each other and help when you need. We also liked that the book showed it’s okay to ask for help because those that love you will always be there. Overall, we really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait for other to experience it for themselves!

This is such a great story for young kids! First of all, the illustrations are GORGEOUS. The foliage and use of color and lighting was fantastic. The colors were so bright and vivid, and Bob, the orange "jungle" cat, was adorable! This was a cute story about a cat, but also one about friendship, apartment living, and asking for help. I thought this was lovely!
