As a travel and royal family lover, this is the perfect book for me. We are planning a trip to London so this came at a perfect time. I really like how this book was laid out. There was a mix of new and hidden gem places.

I am such a history nerd and I love the history around the royal family. I have also loved all the other books in this series so I was so happy to get to read this book. I wasn't disappointed and I cannot wait to revisit some of the places I have already seen with new eyes and some new places too

I AM OBSESSED. I need this as a coffee table or just something to keep to flip through when I'm bored. I nerded out so hard and enjoyed every part of this. I'm thankful for the research and the way this information was presented.

This guide will take you to all the places the Royal family lives in London, from the Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey to their favorite shops, hotels, restaurants, and so much more. Very informative with beautiful photography.

This is a thorough guide to London which also touches on all of the Royal rulers up to and including King Charles III. There are discussions of the Thames and the bridges crossing the river. The various Royal palaces are depicted. There are many restaurants noted that the Royals like to visit as well as their favorite stores and boutiques. There are art galleries, entertainment places, memorials, gardens, museums, libraries, government offices and so much more. With each site noted, there are directions on how to get to them, hours open and entry fee if any.

I have visited London several times in the past, but I must say that after reading this delightful guide, I feel like I have just had a complete tour of this magnificent city. Even if one cannot visit in person, just reading this guide will be like being there in person.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves London, anything about Britain and the Royal family. So, sit back and take a tour from your favorite chair and, hopefully, you can actually visit one day. Enjoy!

The Royal Lover’s Guide to London contains all the information I search for before I hit the road. Moreover, I found myself searching for the best airfare to London when reading this guide. And that is the best recommendation for this book.
London is divided into nine sections here, each containing the most famous landmarks.
As this is a royal lover’s guide, the shops and restaurants visited by members of the Royal Family are a significant part of the text (they would be hidden in the where to eat and shop section in the other guides).

In the descriptions of each place, we learn its history, a tidbit of trivia that will delight a fellow traveler with no royal interests, and most importantly, who was ever here and what they did. One locates events one has only read about.

What pleases your wallet is that many places can be visited for free, as the guide also reveals.

Thank you to NetGalley and Pen and Swords for a free digital review copy. This is my honest review.

Princess Fuzzypants here: When you think of London one of the primary attractions is all things royal. The appetite for royals is insatiable with some so this would be a good guide for those fixated on the comings and goings of the Family. It does focus more on the younger generations of Elizabeth II’s children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. It does cover all the ceremonial places or spots where there would be something official. But as a nod to the more gossipy parts of royal watching, it also has the various stores and restaurants etc that they frequent.

I suspect this would be of more interest to the tourist than to the local but it does a comprehensive job of offering lots of places to see and things to do. Four purrs and two paws up.

It was an entertaining and informative even if I would have preferred some more references to Tudor of Plantagenet.
An unusual and informative travel guide.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this arc, all opinions are mine

Simple, basic guide book to mostly modern places associated with royalty.I was a bit disappointed there weren't a lot of older places on offer here but I did enjoy the histories of quite a few of them.It is well written and includes visiting times, addresses, websites and transportation options. However, if you prefer your royals closer to the Medieval,Tudor or even older eras I'd take a pass on this one.

From Albert Hall to Victoria station London is a royal whoppers dream from their favorite restaurants to their favorite places to buy jewelry and much much more this book is chock-full of cultist details on our favorite Royals. I’m not going to lie I thought this was a book about royal couples but that’s what I get for not reading the summary but having said that I still totally enjoyed the spots that was so much I didn’t know and places I had no idea existed until after reading this book such as Queen Elizabeth‘s favorite place to dine her favorite place to buy jewelry and although she is deceased I never thought of her having a favorite anything I love the Royals and loved this book. If you have a passing interest in what the Royals do and things and reasons they put their name on stuff you definitely should read the royal lovers guide to London. It is broken up into different parts of the capital city no matter what part the section is covering it has many detailed places and reasons why the Royals love it. I highly recommend this book I received it from NetGalley and the publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

A useful guide to many iconic London attractions organised geographically with beautiful photos. My history loving daughter and I are planning a trip to Kensington Palace next month and this guide will provide us with plenty to see in the surrounding area on our visit. Not just for ‘Royal Lovers’ though, this would be useful for anyone planning a sightseeing trip to London!

Thank you Netgalley, Angela Youngman and Pen & Sword for this ARC.

Having been to London many year's ago, I was interested in learning a bit more about the royal connections to some of the places that I had been - and also a bit more about some of the places that I missed. Focusing entirely on the London area, this book discusses not only the palaces and places that you would think, but also the ones that you wouldn't such as restaurants and shops. If you want to tour London like royalty, this is a good book for you. For those that want to live like royalty but don't have the budget, the book provides the closest Underground stops to use when visiting. Sine I almost exclusively used the Underground when I was there, this is helpful when planning and navigating the city.

For a book that is being published in March 2023 it presumes that some future events have already occurred. This distracted a bit from the book since a person interested in royal London would know that. The text also used both current and former titles when referring to the same person. While not incorrect, it could also be confusing.

An easy-to-read guide to all the spots in London associated with the royal family. This is a must-have for anyone taking a trip to London, and a fun read for those of us who are armchair travelers. Packed with info and beautiful pictures of the more popular locations. It makes one want to plan a vacation to London as soon as possible.

Travelers (whether armchair or in real time) and those who are intrigued by royals now and in the centuries past will very much enjoy this guide. It is filled with photos and short entries. Organized geographically, readers will be able to plan a nice route for sightseeing.

For example, in chapter 2 on Kensington and Chelsea, there is information on the Albert Memorial, Bluebird Cafe (Harry went there), Chelsea Physic Garden, Kensington Palace and the Diana, Princess of Wales Fountain, among others. Each entry has helpful information including hours, underground stations and websites. Each featured neighborhood includes many suggestions of places to go; I liked that there were many to do with food and drink, as well as sites.

This is a wonderful guide to the city. I plan to take it with me when next I travel.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Pen & Sword for this title. All opinions are my own.

I received a free copy of, The Royal Lover's Guide to London. by Angela Youngman, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I love London, only been there once, but I adored the hustle and bustle of the lively city, I loved Harrods too. This is a great book for anyone who loves London, or wants to know more about it. I love the pictures of London, so wish I was there again.

Super fast read. Very informative including tube stops and business hours this book has all the famous and even some lesser known but shouldn’t be missed on your trip around London stops. It gives all the highlights and the history of the various locations and offers pictures of the more famous spots. I do wish it had more pictures though. It’s broken down into the different sectors of London so you can hit the highlights all in the same area, including shopping and dining and where the Royals are likely to be seen.
This would be super helpful in planning a trip to London (which is a bucket list trip for me) or as a coffee table book as well. Would make a great gift.
Thanks to White Owl Publishing and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my review.

A very interesting guide to London with beautiful pictures. For every site, you will find information about opening hours and the nearest metro station with approximate walking time. Highly recommend it for all people visiting London - not limited to royal lovers only.

The second I saw the title for this, I knew I really wanted to read it (N. American, fairly obsessed with English history, and since royalty has historically played a giant role…).

There’s enough to this guide for fans of royal history, as well as for those of the current day working royals, with most of the shop and dining offerings being less than vintage.

Geographically arranged with information and trivia about each place, and accompanying photos, this is an excellent guide and something I’ll definitely bring with me when I’m finally able to visit England for a couple of months.

Recommended!
