This Fear Series is quickly becoming a favorite. Finn is back!

Navy SEAL, Finn, is AWOL. It’s complicated. Hiding out on Vieques, an island paradise off the coast of Puerto Rico. Living in a spare room behind the seafood place which is owned by a blind person.

In the dark of night, he surfs the dark web trying to find the officer who has been committing the crimes Finn stands accused of.

But he is about to be much busier. His employer’s grandchildren are missing. He is sure they are connected to La Empresa- a crime network. Now Finn will expose them and hopefully not die.

These children are smart and resourceful and have been keeping ahead of the killer when a hurricane shows up battering the entire coastline and cutting it off from the world.

Now Finn must fight on the water and the clock is ticking. What a great time to find out he can’t actually trust his friends!

Tense and an all-around good read!

This book was issued to me by NetGalley for my unbiased review.

This is the third book of this series that I have read. This book is another good story that keeps your attention.
Like the other books it just stays at a nice simmer. I guess it boils at times, but it really is just a nice smooth, interesting read. It never makes you feel "I can't put this book down", but It makes you feel "I don't want to put this book down".

I would say that it might be better to read the previous books to get the complete feel for the story. It is a stand alone but I feel it helps to cover more of the bases if you read them all.

I was greatly impressed by the first of the Chief Finn books but somehow missed the second one, though I'd kept my eye out for it. This one (the third?) is well written, but for me it didn't seem plausible. Too many wild coincidences. I won't be reviewing it because I don't like to give negative reviews.

Another tight thriller whose main character is an ex highly decorated Navy SEAL trying to clear his name as well as vindicate his murdered friend & others that were butchered in an atrocity then addition insult of a coverup. Finn is back this time on a little island off of Puerto Rico. He's gotten himself hired on by a blind man running a little café with his two grandkids that are still adolescents. It starts out with the kids out snorkeling & way out of the area they are supposed to stay in. They see something then men then they disappear. While Finn is tracking them naturally, a grainy surveillance video from months before is identified by JAG trying to find him, placing him as maybe in the island area. Add to that an approaching hurricane & once again, Finn displays the luck of the Irish, which is scramble, dive & if it all could go into crisis it will. I really enjoy the amount of actual knowledge, effort & real time story line world issues these authors go in detail with to create thee entertaining thrillers I wish to continue to read.

This is the third in the series of "fear" books featuring ex-Navy SEAL Finn in another escapade, this time in Puerto Rico in the process of saving two children who get caught up in a series of unfortunate events. Finn is trying to find the kids, who have been abducted on a snorkel trip. Meanwhile, two federales are searching for Finn and land on the island and start tracking him down. The characters, as with the previous two novels, are well drawn, the situations ultra realistic, the conflicts seemingly vexing. You don't have to read the other books to get involved here, and if you are fans of Lee Child's Reacher or Brad Thor's books you will find this novel enjoyable and the pace the usual madcap and mayhem.

John David Mann and Brandon Webb's Finn series has quickly become a favorite of mine. They certainly aren't what I typically look for when browsing books because while I love thrillers and mysteries, I don't usually go for the military type thrillers that involve members of the military and/or covert-type ops. But after reading Steel Fear, the first in this series, I was hooked!

The character of Finn is such a good guy ~ he looks out for those who he cares for, believes strongly in right and wrong, even if wrong has to be done to get to the right, and is highly intelligent. The writing is so dynamic that I really feel as if I could be there, seeing and experiencing what is described.

This book finds Finn in Puerto Rico, living a quiet life, working in a small family restaurant, and sleeping in the tiny back room. When two children he has come to care for fall into harm's way, Finn sets off to search for the children and he finds far more than he expected to.

If you like thrillers - even if the military thing isn't your preferred thriller - give Steel Fear a try. You will definitely want to start with the first book because characters from previous books are mentioned or make an appearance in the following books. Blind Fear is book 3. I can't recommend this series highly enough.

Thank you to Netgalley, the authors, and publisher for providing an ARC at my request. All thoughts are my own.

Blind Fear by Brandon Webb; John David Mann is a story full of suspense and shocking twists.
There were so many twists, and the action was so face-paced I finished this book in one day.
Finn was an incredible character and I found his part to be engaging and well written.
I’ve got to get my hands on the previous books in this series.

Loved the 3rd installment in this series. This story has the element of the chase, hunt, fear, and horrible evil. Finn is is the master of disguise while trying to rescue children and conquer evil while being chased by Americans who wrongly believe he is guilty. Can't wait for number 4!!! Love this gentle giant!

Finn is now hiding out in Puerto Rico and has gotten close to an elderly man and his two young grandchildren. When the children disappear one day after going out to play, everyone fears the worst. The man doesn't trust the police, who he thinks are corrupt and in the pay of the local cartel but he trusts Finn.so he asks him to find his grandchildren. Unfortunately, not only the local cartel is involved but a shadowy figure that even the cartel fears - El Rucco. El Rucco is a criminal people fear to even mention as those who come afoul of him end up mutilated and dead. Complicating things are two investigators from the U.S. government who have tracked Finn down. So now Finn has to duck and weave around numerous sources of danger in order to bring the kids home. This latest story had more gruesome scenes than I am usually comfortable with as the story concentrated more on the doings of vicious criminals and less on the government conspiracy angle. Towards the end, though, I was on the edge of my seat as Finn finally makes some progress on his investigation into the events that sent him on the run. I can't wait for the next book to see where this all goes.

Blind Fear, the 3rd in the series, is my favorite so far, a heck of a read, I loved it!
Finn is hiding out in Puerto Rico, working for a perceptive blind cook and has formed a lovely relationship with his 2 grandchildren. When the 2 kids get kidnapped, Finn, while trying to find them, unfortunately gets in the way of some seriously scary underworld figures, especially the fearsome El Rucco. Even the Cartels try to stay away from him.
Plus, to make matters worse, there's a possible hurricane on the way, plus his hunters are on their way to arrest him! What a great book!

“Remember to look both ways” is good advice for Finn as he continually looks over his shoulder at the misguided chasers wanting capture him for things he didn’t do and looks in all other directions for the missing kids and the elusive El Rucco. Lots of action in an exciting addition to the series.

Whew! I just finished Blind Fear by Brandon Webb, John David Man .
I feel like I’ve just been through the spin cycle of a hurricane after finishing this book.
I feel slightly breathless, off balance and overwhelmed by my emotions from the frantic heart racing ending.
I thought Finn was a goner!
That was some good stuff!

Finn is back, still trying to figure out who set him up for the massacre in Yemen, while staying off the radar of DIA and other three-letter agencies searching for him. Finn is currently hiding out in Puerto Rico, working for a cook who is blind (but who can “see” more than most of us with sight). He has befriended the cook’s grandchildren, Pedro and Miranda. The connection he feels to them is unexpected.

When Pedro and Miranda go missing, Finn sets out to find them. This drags him into the criminal underworld of Puerto Rico with drug smuggling, police corruption, and a mysterious figure known as El Rucco that even the cartels fear, with an enforcer who has a particularly nasty method of torturing and killing those who cross him.

If that was not bad enough, his presence in Puerto Rico has been discovered and two government officials, one a familiar face, have arrived to apprehend him. And there is a storm brewing that may result in a hurricane hitting Puerto Rico.
