What a wonderful, romantic story. Sandra Worth is a superb historian and writer, and I devoured every page of this incredibly-well written saga. I could not put it down and learned so much about this time in history. I hihgly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good epic!

Very different than your normal regency era romance/historical fiction that I usually read, so it was refreshing to find something different. Was a little difficult for me to follow but an interesting story overall.

An amazing and tragic romance set at the end of the Eastern Roman Empire and the Ottoman siege of Constantinople. I wish Zoe could have found happiness with her Emperor, but history says the last Constantine never married as Emperor and vanished at the end of the siege.
