I really enjoyed this guide on praying for your pastor! The topics were well-thought-out, and the devotionals were thought-provoking. There were a lot of practical tips on how to pray for your pastor.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I thought I knew the adversities a pastor went through until I read this book. There is so much more that can be used to discourage and cripple these called men of God. My heart is broken for them and I will henceforth make a more conscious effort to pray for my pastor(s) each week.

I count it a privilege to pray in this way-guided by the topics, insight and sample prayers contained within this devotional. Several of the topics covered include wisdom, preparation, leading, weariness, hope, comparisons and encouragement, to name a few.

Each day provides a discussion of the topic, a reflection and a sample prayer to pray for your pastor(s).

Plans provided at the end of this book as potential uses of this prayer guide-
Pray for 30 days using this resource-repeat at least once a year
Praying for 3-5 minutes a day-repeat at least once a year
Worship service prayer team-pray during worship

I received this book from the author/publisher free of charge, with no expectation of a positive review.

Insightful and thought-provoking, Thom S Rainer does a nice job explaining his thoughts on pastoring and praying for the layperson to understand. The book includes reflections and prayers so help the reader walk through the book in a systematic way.

*I received a digital ARC from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for my review.

It is well written and easy to follow. The material is thought provoking and makes the reader ask themselves questions about how they support the leaders that pour into them spiritually. The author pulls back the curtain on what goes on in the minds of our church leaders. It is good to see things from others' perspective sometimes, and this book certainly helps the reader to that.

In many churches, October is the pray-for-your-pastor month. This 30 Day Devotional feels like a huge, great boon and gift for those who wish to pray for and show their pastor and his/her family their appreciation and support.

Each day includes a main theme such as: wisdom, weddings, funerals, temptations, comparisons, joy and so many more. An appropriately targeted bible verse follows, after which is a reflection based on true life anecdotes, and then an actual, helpful prayer to pray for the pastor.

I really like how these devotionals are arranged. They are short, sweet and simply put to the point. Certainly an overall great way to show ones' appreciation by praying for the pastor.

This book could be used by individuals but it seems that praying as a congregation is encouraged as the reader will discover modes for group praying in teams and explaining key actions in implimentaing the prayer groups and gatherings.

I was quite excited to come across this devotional as it seems very user friendly, while still giving attentive believers a way for pro-active quality praying. As some denonminations do not have clergy, I still say that this devotional can be used to pray for the spiritual leaders in any given gathering so that they too will stay true to the Lord and be encouraged by those to whom they teach and preach.

Different than the title suggests, but an important book for sure.

Thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.
