This title says it all. It’s a promise fulfilled to the reader. The definition of marriage, the application of heart strategies, and the principles of problem solving are well articulated and illustrated through personal examples of couples interactions. It is no accident I saw myself in some of the examples in the book.

Thank You for this insightful book which has as its basic principle, our personal safety, as we navigate our married relationships.

"Restoring Hope" is an exceptional guide for Christian marriage counselors, therapists, pastors, and lay leaders who are committed to helping couples in distress. Developed by the clinical team at the Focus Marriage Institute, this book is based on the remarkably successful program, Hope Restored: A Marriage Intensive Experience, which has served more than ten thousand couples over the last twenty years.

The book offers a replicable model that contains numerous intervention and therapeutic strategies that can be adapted to any personal therapy style, the unique individuals being served, and the specific relational circumstances. The three sections of the book explore the key concepts, principles, and skills needed to work with couples in marital crisis, the process of therapy and application, and the theological and psychological assumptions and foundations of the model.

The authors provide an in-depth examination of the program's goals and objectives, the therapeutic relationship, psychoeducation, sequencing, marriage dynamics, and more. This valuable resource stands the test of time, offering proven techniques and strategies to help couples restore their relationships.

Overall, "Restoring Hope" is an essential tool for anyone who wants to help couples in distress and who believes in the power of Christian principles to bring hope and healing to marriages. Whether you are a seasoned therapist or a lay leader, this book will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to make a positive difference in the lives of those you serve.
