Thanks @netgalley for read number 47 of 2022. I really like @ruthwarewriter’s books, and enjoyed this one as well. It was hard to put down, and I found myself trying to use every spare minute I had to read another page. I liked how action-packed it was, and I anticipated a twist, but still enjoyed seeing how it played out. I expected to have a little more of a twist at the end than what there was. I almost wanted a little more information about the original crime than what was given. But this was definitely a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read in my books, and I would certainly recommend it for those that enjoy suspenseful reads.

Zero Days by Ruth Ware is a high-adrenaline, propulsive read that is a surprising, yet successful, departure for this popular author.

Jack and her husband Gabe make their living by hacking into their clients' security systems. But when a job goes wrong and Gabe is found murdered, his wife becomes the number one suspect. On the run, Jack must use any means necessary to prove her innocence, while at the same time finding who is actually responsible for the grisly murder.

I have been a fan of this author from the very start, and while this latest is not at all what I had expected, it is a highly enjoyable read that demonstrates Ms Ware's immense talent and versatility. 4.5 stars

Many thanks to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Canada for an ARC.

Wow - this was a rush! I read this book so quickly and enjoyed every minute. Jack Cross is a pen tester - she is hired to enter businesses and check their security. She can break into rooms by various methods, and is helped via bluetooth by her husband Gabe, who is monitoring from home and giving her advice and building layout info. When she gets home, she finds him dead, throat slashed. The police suspect her and she has to run to stay free so she can learn who the killer is.

I don't really get some of the tech talk in this book, and I would have had to stop running if I were Jack, especially after she sustains a deep injury that won't stop bleeding. She's tough and determined. Another great read from Ruth Ware - loved it!

Thank you to Simon and Schuster Canada & NetGalley for an ARC of Zero Days!

I'm not usually an "action and adventure" reader, so this was a bit of a departure for me, however I did like it.

It was interesting to learn more about being a pen tester and the technology behind hacking and the dark web. I think I would have liked more of the background to the relationship with her and Gabe to learn more about Jack - there was a bit too much running and on the move moments for me - but that's more of a preference than anything!

Will definitely explore more Ruth Ware books especially her more psychological ones which might be more up my alley.
