Amy Lea is such a great writer. I always love her books and Woke Up Like This was a great YA romance. In a 17 going on 30 story, two teens wake up as adults and have to navigate their way through life as adults while trying to figure out who they are.

Classic Stine — spooky, fast-paced, and slightly goofy. This new Goosebumps spinoff kicks off with a haunted house full of creepy surprises and just enough fright to keep middle-grade readers wide-eyed and flipping pages.

This is definitely YA, but it you head into it with that, it reads like a super fun 90's sitcom romance. I liked both the characters and devoured this book quickly.

A cute coming of age story where the characters realize what they are missing. A little unrealistic at times, but relatable to the struggles of high school relationships and family struggles.

A cute romance for fans of 13 going on 30, and to all the boys. Great YA romance novel with well descripted characters.

I feel like this type of story has been done so many times before. 13 going on 30 was a great movie so that's what made me wanna read this. i will say the message ending of this book was by far my favorite part. I loved the pop culture references...the dirty dancing scene at the prom. loved! this was a middle of the road for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advance copy of Woke Up Like This by Amy Lea in exchange for my honest review and feedback. I absolutely loved this book and was so sad to finish it. What a fun rom/com read that gives you the warm fuzzies. Amy Lea is definitely an author I will read more of going forward.

I surprisingly enjoyed this book as a person who doesn't usually read romance novels. I was intrigued by the premise which was inspired by 13 going on 30 (my favourite RomCom). However, in this novel, it was more like 17 going on 30. The main character Charlotte falls off a ladder while prepping for prom and wakes up as a 30 year old engaged to her archnemesis. Overall, parts of the novel was cute, but I felt at times it was missing the RomCom element that I think it was trying to emulate. The characters were cute, and I loved the ending. Looking forward to the next Amy Lea novel!

Amy Lea really knows how to write and I usually really enjoy her books. This was a 3.5/5 but I wanted something more in order to go up to the full 4 stars.

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

13 Going on 30 is one of my favorite movies of all time, so I knew I needed to pick this one up. I was not disappointed!

Type A Charlotte Wu and go-with-the-flow J.T. Renner are always butting heads. While planning their senior prom, Charlotte falls off a ladder and lands on Renner. When they wake up, they realize that they're thirty years old... and engaged to each other. While grappling with everything that has changed since they were 17, they realize that maybe their differences are not insurmountable and that maybe they can even be a good team.

I really liked our main characters and their chemistry was so strong. I enjoyed learning more about them as individuals, as well as how they came to be rivals. Renner always saw the good in Charlotte (even if he pretended not to), but it was really cute to watch Charlotte come to terms with the fact that Renner is actually a down-to-earth and really sweet guy.

Something else that really stood out to me is the lesson about relationships changing as you grow up, especially post-graduation--sometimes people go in different directions in life but your people will still be there for you.

If you like 13 Going on 30, or you're looking for a fun, light-hearted YA romance, I would highly recommend Woke Up Like This!

I always enjoy reading books with a sparkle of magical realism, and with this I can say that this is a very fun and heartwarming read. Based on the genres of books I read (translated lit) it is very unique for me reading a love story with a twist of time travel. The rivalry of the two main character is really entertaining. I highly recommend it if you want a light-hearted romance with humor.

For two high school seniors, it’s seventeen going on thirty—overnight—in a magical romantic comedy about growing up too fast and living in the moment. Planning the perfect prom is one last “to do” on ultra-organized Charlotte Wu’s high school bucket list. So far, so good, if not for a decorating accident that sends Charlotte crash-landing off a ladder, face-first into her obnoxiously ripped archnemesis J. T. Renner. Worse? When Charlotte wakes up, she finds herself in an unfamiliar bed at thirty years old, with her bearded fiancé, Renner, by her side. Either they’ve lost their minds or they’ve been drop-kicked into adulthood, forever trapped in the thirty-year-old bodies of their future selves. With each other as their only constant, Charlotte and Renner discover all that’s changed in the time they’ve missed. Charlotte also learns there’s more to Renner than irritating-jock charm, and that reaching the next milestone isn’t as important as what happens in between. Navigating a series of adventures and a confounding new normal, Charlotte and Renner will do whatever it takes to find a way back to seventeen. But when—and if—they do, what then?

I love this. It gave me 13 Going on 30 Vibes. I looooooooooooooove that movie. Charlotte is easy to relate to and Renner is just fantastical. Will recommend this to others. Cannot wait to read more from the author.

I'll admit that when I first saw this book, all I thought was Amy Lea, yes! As I've really enjoyed her other book series.
Unfortunately this was a little too YA for my tastes and I couldn't find myself wanting to keep reading. There's a likelihood I might go back to it at some point but as someone in their 30s, there's a certain stage where you just can't read about highschoolers anymore.

This was my first Amy Lea book and it didn’t disappoint.

The premise of this was giving all my nostalgia 13 going on 30 vibes. It was a little different though.

Charlotte & Renners relationship was had such a great relationship. I did find Charlotte a bit annoying at times and felt like Renner needed to toughen up.

There was plenty of romance and comedy. It flowed well and was an enjoyable read.

It was a predictable story but that doesn’t bother me so much. I quite like guessing the outcome and seeing it come to that.

Loved the read and gave me fab romcom nostalgia vibes,

This was so sweet. I really loved the story of this novel. I loved the romance even though it was YA. I loved how it was definitely inspired by 13 Going On 30.

I loved how the story was balanced dealing with the switch between past and future and how the characters learned their mistakes from all that happened un that time glitch.

Absolutely loved this books

It was pretty predictable and the writing wasn't my favorite. I'm also getting so tired of the whole "MMC is gone for the FMC but she is entrenched in the belief that he's an asshole and also has no idea he's in love with her even though she's super-smart" schtick.

I love that this was based on 13 going on 30. The build up was great but the ending felt rushed and was slightly disappointing. I usually enjoy young adult books because of all the feels (and less focus on spice). This had exactly that. Just wish the ending would’ve been more of a bang!

This was very cute! A little too YA for me to fall in love with it, but very readable. It did keep me guessing as to how it would be resolved!

The characters were quite likeable and relatable. Big thanks for this ARC !

I unfortunately was not able to connect with this one. Amy Lea is a hit or miss author for me and this one was on the miss side. Regrettably, I think this is my last attempt to read a book by this author. Some of the dialogue was cringe worthy to me.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
