This was such a delight! I am a sucker for the time travel trope. The thing that made this one even more special is that it happened to both of them. Such a fun rom-com. I loved it!

I've long been a fan of Amy Lea. Her covers are adorable and her stories are on point. So I could not wait to get my hands on this one. Enemies to lovers meets 13 Going on 30? Yes please!
Charlotte and J.T are rivals, frenemies, or just plain old meant to be. Depends on who you ask. But then a fall off a ladder transports them to the future and they start to wonder what exactly they're always fighting about.
This was a fast, super cute read that I really enjoyed. It was absolutely adorable and I cannot wait to see what else Amy Lea puts out.
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This was so freaking cute. It reads like a movie. It definitely gives off “13 going on 30” vibes. I absolutely loved both main characters. I think this is the best young adult book I’ve ever read. It was so funny and totally relatable. The FMC ends up in the future with her enemy, utterly obsessed. I’ve only read one other book by this author, but this one is my favorite. Super cute read.

I've read all of Amy Lea's rom-coms, so when I read in Kirkus she had made a foray into YA, I knew I wanted to read it. It's a spoof on "13 Going on 30" combined with Back to the Future, and despite only having seen one of those movies, I liked this one a lot.
Charlotte is your typical, over achieving high school senior who is days away from graduation. While setting up for prom with her (obviously super hot) rival, she falls and hits her head. When she wakes up, she's 30 and engaged to said (obviously now even more super hot) rival. He's in the same situation, so together they need to figure out how to get back to their senior year.
This was cute, it took me a few days to get through because of life, and not because of a lack of interest.

Loved the 13 going on 30 vibes in this. Charlotte and JT were funny and I enjoyed the cast around them. Almost wish we got more of them interacting in the future but I also think the book was a good length. I enjoyed this more than Lea’s adult romances!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

BIG thank you to netgalley for this arc!! thoroughly enjoyed this! it was fun, brought all the emotions and definitely made me nostalgic- thinking of my high school self. loved the harry, taylor and olivia rodrigo name drops specifically! the message was perfect. also just love this cover a lot!!! definitely wanna read more from this author, it read so seamlessly.

Like most of the other reviewers mentioned, Woke Up Like This reminded me SO MUCH of 13 Going on 30. It was a fun, enjoyable read, and I would recommend it. There is some time hopping, and normally I don't care for those types of storylines AT ALL, but Amy Lea wrote it in a way that wasn't confusing. I loved reading how Charlotte's character developed and how she let go of people and situations that didn't serve her well. Quite honestly, she reminded me a lot of my younger self, and that was painful to read, at times. The only negative thing I have to say about this book is it could be childish at times, and I do feel it leans more toward the young adult crowd than the more mature crowd, like myself (i.e. OLD. LOL.). But if you're a fan of enemies to lovers and fake dating, then Woke Up Like This is definitely the book for you. Give it a try!

My fellow "I function based on lists" people will thoroughly enjoy this one.
Woke Up Like This isn't your regular high school romance - our main character suddenly finds herself going from a 17-year-old prepping for prom to a 30-year-old prepping for her wedding with her arch nemesis. Did I mention they hate each other? (Or do they?)
I related to the growth our characters go through and if you enjoy enemies-to-lovers tropes you'll be rooting for them as well. There's also a lot of wisdom in these pages aimed towards people who find it difficult to be in the now. Highly recommended.
✨ Disclaimer ✨ I received a free copy of this book and this is my honest review.

This book is so cute! Admittedly, one of my favorite movies is 13 going on 30, so how can I not love a book that propels two 17 year olds to their 30s after a fall off a ladder. It is the cutest high school romance story with all the typical high school drama you'd expect with crazy parents and lots of laughter. Even though you know the ending, you can't help smile when you get to that last page. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Charlotte Wu is the most organized teenager ever, checking things off her bucket list and creating the perfect prom. She's got a plan for everything, including the rest of her life. She'll make it all happen, in spite of her nemesis Renner, the easy -going class president/clown. But am accident at prom seems the two of them into the future, where the surprises just keep coming. Charlotte learns that everyone is not what they seem in the surface, and you can't always see what others are dealing with.. This is a feel-good, high school nostalgia story that will definitely find readers in my high school library.

Woke Up Like this was a delightful surprise. The characters had depth and chemistry from the start, and adding a dose of time-travel into a romance, and giving it another little unexpected twist (which I’ll avoid spoiling here) made this a wonderfully entertaining lighter read. It was impossible not to like and empathize with Charlotte and Renner and to root for their growth together and individually.
Thank you Amy Lea, Mindy’s Book Studio, and NetGalley for providing this ARC for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.

This was such a good read! I was pleasantly surprised that i liked it. I feel like it was very well written and kept my attention throughout the whole book. Definitely was giving 13 going on 30 vibes. I did cry happy tears at the end of this!

Super fun time-jump rom-com.
From prom to waking up next to your nemisis, what could be the worst that would happen?
This is written for more of a YA audience, but I still enjoyed it. But I also love 13 Going On 30, so.....
Thanks to NetGalley and the Publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book.

a different version of "13 going on 30" and i didn't expect to like a YA title. however, It ended up being infinitely more YA than I expected.

I loved this!!!! It was such a fun read and really enjoyable. I definitely recommend it. Thanks so much to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC on exchange for an honest review.

JSXVJSWH38:)/$?;827:8:$3$;!:$:) so, i really really liked this. like i completely adored it. this could’ve had 300 more pages and i would’ve been so pleased. the dynamic between charlotte and renner was just too good. the plot was just too good, and i think that is the reason i need more. i would’ve loved more time spent with them being older and navigating that. or maybe… an epilogue of it. something about books like this get me. and it Got me.

This was such a sweet, fun romcom! Woke Up Like This follows Charlotte Wu, who is determined to have the most perfect high school experience possible. One of the last tasks left on her to-do list? Planning a dreamy prom, of course. So far, everything's going smoothly—until a decorating accident leaves Charlotte crash-landing into the arms of her nemesis, J.T. Renner. Even worse, when Charlotte wakes up, she's 30 years old, in a bed she doesn't recognize, with Renner asleep by her side. Char and Renner have been thrown into adulthood, trapped in the bodies of their future selves. They soon realize that they've missed a lot over the past few years, and they'll have to rely on each other for support as they navigate this unfamiliar new world. But can they ever go back to being 17 again—and if they do, what will happen next?
I love an accidental time travel story, and Woke Up Like This was such a blast to read! It was lighthearted and funny, but also covered some meaningful themes, like divorce, grief, changing friendships, the perils of people-pleasing, and what to do when you realize you might deserve better from some of the people you love. The rivals-to-lovers romance between Charlotte and Renner was so sweet and well-written, and they were both super likable and relatable characters! I found Renner to be such an endearing character, and there was so much more to him than meets the eye. I also enjoyed seeing Char's journey, and how seeing what might happen to her life in the future helped her to do some things differently in the present. I loved the pop culture references and the whole "13 Going On 30" feeling, but also felt like this book was so fresh and unique on its own! I would highly recommend it. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

this gave me similar vibes to better than the movies in terms of all the indirect (and sometimes direct) classic rom coms the book referenced like 13 going on 30, dirty dancing, and mean girls. i will say that woke up like this doesn't really tread new ground, but i'm just a sucker for kindness and understanding in terms of a romantic pairing and for a first high school type of love it was sweet. topics such as divorce and grief also added onto the emotional depth of the main couple.

This book was such a YA delight! I absolutely adored this book. Such a fun concept to know the long term ending for a teenage couple when usually it ends with you wondering if they'll make it college. The chemistry between this pair was so fun, the story was very touching and endearing, and I didn't feel like I was constantly poking holes in the time travel plot! Really fun, sweet, quick YA read! Highly recommend.

Such a cute, delightful read! It was like taking a trip down memory lane to my high school days. All the stressors and anxiety that we all experienced to succeed or to be liked and to fit in. Not knowing that after graduation what seemed so important wouldn't really matter at all. Friendships would end and life will still go on. Very nostalgic! The love-hate relationship between Charlotte and J.T. was adorable. I enjoyed their humor and connection. Even though the premise of this book has been used many times before, it will never fail to interest me. I really enjoyed it!
