I loved this book so much that I read it all in one sitting! This rom-com is very Suddenly 30 (or 13 Going on 30) coded, but it's so fresh and fun! After falling from a ladder while decorating for her high school prom, Charlotte wakes up as a 30 year old apparently preparing to marry Renner, the guy she has always hated. While trying to figure out what happened, why they are getting married and how to get back to their high school selves, Charlotte finds herself falling for Renner. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the way it was written. The characters were likeable and witty, with plenty of cute banter, and the story was clean. Admittedly, I found the timeline a little confusing- I couldn't tell you how long Charlotte and Renner were 30 year olds before changing back- but that was my only issue with it. All in all, a fun, easy read!

This was an easy, fun read. Definitely very similar to 13 going on 30. However, this time 2 people go forward in time after an accident where they hit their heads.

It's a nice book, but Charlotte, the main character was very immature for her age. She is a senior in high school in the book, but had the maturity of someone much younger. I think this book may have been written for an audience around 13-15 years old. If you are not into young adult type stories, this would not be the book for you.

There was a lot going on, a few life lessons thrown in, and it was still a fun read. I was torn between giving this a 3 and a 4, because of what I mentioned above. But I had to admit that even though it seemed to be written for a much younger audience, I still enjoyed it.

This was such a cute and fun read and what a different spin on the wake up older theme. This was so cute! I loved it. I think that this is one of my favorite reads so far this year.
I just reviewed Woke Up Like This by Amy Lea. #WokeUpLikeThis #NetGalley

(I wasn’t able to download this title for some reason? It kept showing an error message for the kindle option and it wouldn’t open on my shelf app either, so I haven’t been able to read it, sadly!)

This was such a fun read’. Transported me right back to high school when the only security is insecurity. Imagine waking up years later…married… to your arch nemesis. Charlotte takes a tumble off a ladder and into the arms of JT. After discovering they are older and married they must find a way back to their senior year. I really liked the enemies to lovers and being stuck in a time loop helped Charlotte see JT wasn’t all that bad and cleared up some bad information she was given. This was a sweet romance teaching us to all slow down and appreciate the moment you happen to be in.

4.0 stars!
How cute can this book get!?
What would you do when you wake up one morning next to a naked man you are very much engaged with who happened to be your high school nemesis?
Woke up like this by Amy Lea is a coming of age, YA romance that has a lot like 13 going on 30 plot, only its 17 going on 30 and I am all here for it!
I can feel the “senioritis” syndrome as our main character. Charlotte undergoes the whole senior year of fun, dance, events, college applications, prom and stress! Its a very monumental year for all and others may seem like they have it under control while there are some that are unsure of what life is going to be after the graduation caps are tossed!
It will be a freaky realization when the universe will play tricks on you and have you see what its like in the future. Only if that’s possible!
Anyway, this cute romance is fast, with good character development. It is perfect for this time of the year when seniors in high school are marking those calendars religiously.
I enjoyed every second reading this and I thank Mindy’s Book Studio and Netgalley for the advance copy in exchange of my honest review.

This book reminded me of the struggle that we all go through as teenagers in trying to find out who we are. Part of this process involves heartbreak(s) and losing those that we care about. I thought this was a good coming of age story.

Charlotte and Renner have been bumping heads since he stood her up at homecoming.
When decorating for prom, Charlotte falls off a ladder, right into Renner. When they come to, they find themselves in a bed ... together, thirty years old and engaged.

I loved this book, it was so cute.
I did not read the synopsis, I saw that Mindy sticker and dove right in, so I did not know what was going to happen.
When they woke up in that bed, thirteen years into their future .... amazing.

Woke Up Like This written by Amy Lea gave me seventeen going on thirty vibes. This book was so cute and just so fluffy, it was just what my heart needed at the time. The characters were hilarious, I laughed so many times, I was swooning so much, it was just the best feeling ever. I wish this author wrote this book back when I was in high school, because it was just the biggest hug to my younger self. I feel like ANY age group can read this YA contemporary romance novel, but I feel like this book would deeply resonate with a young female in high school. I'm twenty-one years old now, after reading this book it made me want to congratulate my younger self for achieving what I have so far. When you graduate high school, it's such a big step towards adulthood that I feel no one prepares you for. You might lose some friends who you thought you would be best friends with for the rest of your life, you are going to break up with the guy you thought you would spend the rest of your life with because that's just high school for you. You win some, you lose some. At seventeen years old, I was so insecure with myself, I wanted to look like all the gorgeous girls, I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life, but this book was so so important to my younger self. I can't recommend this book enough, please do yourself a favor and go read this book, so you can congratulate your younger self.

THANK YOU TO NETGALLEY AND MINDY'S BOOK STUDIO FOR AN ARC OF THIS BOOK IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW!!!!!!

"For some reason, I always thought adults made decisions with purpose. That they knew what they were doing all the time. But maybe adults are just like teens, bumbling around aimlessly, unsure if they've gotten it right".

"Maybe mom was right. Maybe not all friends are meant to be in your life for the long haul. Not being friends anymore doesn't have to involve a catastrophic fight. No one means to hurt the other person. People just move on with life. Sad as it is, it also brings me a sense of peace".

"But I hope that with every milestone you achieve, you take the time to appreciate it. Don't let future goals get in the way of enjoying present happiness". Teenage Charlotte spent too many days dwelling over things she couldn't control. "Don't let the stress of college exams, jobs or relationships ruin your ability to experience life to the fullest. Hold on to every moment. Be present. Take it all in, second by second, untainted by plans and logistics. Treasure the now forever, because in the blink of an eye, it'll be gone. And on that same note, don't let the past dampen your present. Don't let fear or anger stop you from what you truly want. Let go of the past and stop waiting for the future".

First off, I would like to thank my boo, Divinity for buddy reading this book with me💘. I had the best time sharing all of our crazy thoughts and screaming with you😂😘😘.

For two high school seniors, Charlotte Wu and J.T. Renner, it's seventeen going on thirty overnight. At seventeen years old, Charlotte is your type A high school student, always getting good grades, never being late to school, stressing over tests and preparing for college. J.T. Renner, well there's not much to say, you can probably guess what most seventeen year old boys are like. Woke Up Like This is a book about growing up too fast and actually living in the moment. On Charlotte's bucket list, the last and final project to do is planning the perfect prom, except when Charlotte and J.T. are decorating for their senior prom, Charlotte crashes off of a ladder and falls face first into J.T. but when Charlotte and J.T. wake up, they find themselves thirty years old and married. I loved and adored Charlotte and J.T. they always made me giggle, they were absolutely hilarious. I felt for Charlotte thought, my heart goes out to her. Charlotte reminded me a lot of myself in high school, always trying to please the right group of friends because you didn't want to seem like you had no friends, always trying to get good grades because you wanted to do something good with your life. And well, J.T. was adorable and hilarious. I just loved this book so much, it was fluffy, cute, and brought back so many memories for me.

This book was really cute!

It’s an easy and light hearted read.

Very similar to 13 going on 30. If you like that movie, you’ll really like this book. The characters are fun and well written. You root for Charlotte to learn to stick up for herself the whole book and I cheered when she did!

I received this book as an ARC and all opinions in this review is entirely my own.

This is a really cute and fluffy YA romance. It was a fun, quick read. This book is perfect for fans of '13 going on 30' and '17 Again'.

This book was a nice palate cleanser for me in between my fantasy and thriller reads. I highly recommend it if you are looking for something fun that also has a good story line.

Thank you to NetGally and the Author for this ARC.

Really loved the story and plot. The characters were very loveable and I was hooked from chapter 1. I have loved previous books from this author and this was no exception.

Cute "Freaky Friday" remix, but was giving more Jenny Han than I think I was prepared for (even directly referenced Noah Centineo). Just okay. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the free advance copy.

Oh how I enjoyed this book! I ate this up and would give it 6 stars if I could. Not only was the plot of a girl waking up with her high school nemesis 13 years later, ENGAGED TO BE MARRIED, super fun and totally up my street -- it also had important lessons about enjoying life with your friends and loved ones and not worry about perfection and the future too much. The characters and friendships felt very relatable and were well fleshed out. The writing was what I have come to expect from Amy Lea, funny and heartfelt at the same time. All the stars!

An adorable YA romance PERFECT for fans of the movie 13 Going on 30! It will bring back all the good, and bad, memories of high school and senior prom. The heroine is such a perfectionist in all aspects. I loved her emotional growth and maturity through the story. I think YA fans will love this one!

This was such a great book! It was a quick read. It was actually the perfect length. If it was longer it would have been drawn out.

Even though this seemed like a PG romcom it was very entertaining to read as an adult. I have burned out on reading romcoms but loved this book.

Thank you to the publisher and author for an advanced copy!

I adored this book! Such an ode to my teenage self. As a lover of Suddenly 30, it gives the same energy. It’s definitely catering to a YA audience, but I think an adult audience can appreciate many of the themes.

Whilst it does rely on some commonly used tropes (eg enemies/rivals to lovers, opposites attract), I think the author does a great job at creating believable characters, strong friendships and a fast paced read!

Thank you so much for letting me try this book. It's the wrong time for me now, but hopefully I will get there one day. I love Amy and wish her all the best!

This book charmingly echoes the spirit of '13 Going on 30,' offering a plot that is both comforting and familiar. However, it leans more towards the Young Adult genre than initially anticipated. While it provided an easy and enjoyable read, it didn't quite match my personal preferences, making it less of a favorite for me.
