I love this series! Betty the Yeti is so endearing & relatable for kids. A great book to help kids with anxiety about moving.

Betty the Yeti Hates Spaghetti is a book about a Yeti moving to a new city. I didn't realize it was an small chapter book for early readers when I downloaded it. My 8 year old daughter helped me read it and enjoyed the story and illustrations.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book prior to publication.

This was absolutely adorable! The story follows Betty, her two twin brothers, and their mother as they move from their faraway snowy mountain to the big city. Betty has never been around humans and it’s quite scary at first.

This book does a wonderful job showing that just because something is different it doesn’t have to be scary!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an eARC for an honest review!

Probably not for our best books list, but I appreciate the uniqueness of the concept. It's quite well-executed, especially with the colorful and expressive illustrations. I would recommend it for young readers, but not for the list - given that it's a quirky story about fitting in that is only set apart by the protagonist being an abominable snow creature.

Thank you to @netgalley & Picture Window Books for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Betty and her family of yetis just moved to their new apartment. Betty's never lived around humans before noW.
When friendly neighbors bring the Yetis dinner, Betty eats spaghetti for the first time and it's nothing like she expected! Will Betty adjust to a new neighborhood, new foods, and new friends?

The illustrations in this book are so fun & vibrant. I really enjoyed the message that people, or creatures in this book, come in all shapes & sizes. This is a great book for kids to learn about trying new things and making unexpected friends!
There are 8 books about Betty the Yeti and her adventures! I can't wait to read the rest!

This story is sweet and relatable and follows Betty, a young yeti who moves to a new city with her family and struggles to adjust to new experiences and new food. It will delight children age 4-8 who loves stories about friendship, and adventure.

This is the cutest thing I have ever seen in my entire life and I already plan to buy the physical copy. I loved that our little Yeti discovered that she doesn't hate spaghetti, she is just overwhelmed. That is important.

Wonderful!

Oh my goodness this was so cute! I loved the illustrations. I read it to my 4 & 5 year old and it kept their attention which is huge. I enjoyed seeing a single Yeti mom caring for her three children. It opened up the discussion again with my kids about how all families are different, just like ours (we are a two mom family). Any book that normalizes accepting others for differences, whether it be by looks, physical abilities or family dynamics is so valued in our household.
It gets a five star review from both me and the kids. It was an adorable and creative children's book. We will definitely be on the lookout for more Yeti books by this author to incorporate into our bedtime story routine.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this eArc so that I may give my honest feedback.

Thank you to Capstone, Picture Window Books, and NetGalley for the e-ARC to read and review. I love the character of Betty the Yeti and her delightful illustrations. This was a great introduction to her world, and I loved that she tried a new food and went through the different phases of considering why it wasn't for her. I also did not like red sauce as a kid (though spaghetti itself has always remained delightful) and I was mad FOR Betty when it stained her beautiful fur! :D

This is such a cute book about a Yeti moving to a new place near humans. It is a great early reader with simple words and beautiful illustrations. We can’t wait to read other books in the series!

More of an early reader more than a picture book. It was a sweet lesson that students will like. But it is geared more towards primary school students than my middle schoolers.

My daughter is six and an early reader. She LOVES picking out books for us to read together.
Betty had moved from the mountains to the big city and isn’t sure about all the changes and new things, spaghetti is only one of her unexpected experiences. Change is hard!
My daughter adored Betty Yeti’s story and asked if we can read more (the answer is yes), and she was glad Betty found a friend like Cecelia.
This sweet children’s novel is perfect for readers aging out of the early levels, but not ready to leave their pretty illustrations behind. Think just before the magic tree house but beyond the bunny hop. I especially loved the prompts at the back of the book that gently encourage children to talk about what they read.

Personal Review: 5 Stars

Love how this book spoke about the important and difficult topic of moving to a new place and making new friends. The illustrations were vivid, the chapters short and easy to digest and comprehend for little ones. The glossary included in the back, the headings for each chapter, and the table of contents would make this a perfect classroom selection for teaching text features. I loved the characters in the book and the humorous situations. Overall, a very cute read for little boys and girls.

What a cute book! We loved the pictures and the story was fun too! It’s perfect for beginner readers and is even divided into short easy to digest chapters that can add to their feelings of accomplishment and confidence! The questions and writing prompts at the end were great too!

I don’t have children myself, however I’m about to become an aunt so I’ve started scooping out children’s book to read to my niece.

This book is short, but touches on big subject matter of moving to a big scary new place. The Yeti family has come from their previous home to an apartment surrounded by “small and weird humans” who bring spaghetti over. The little overwhelmed Yeti thinking about her favorite meal, is very disappointed in the spaghetti offering and runs off to her room. Luckily the human girl who came over is kind and understanding to Betty(The Yeti) and they end up friends.

Ultimately it’s a very cute story, it does feel a bit short but the illustrations are adorable!
