What a lovely story that I really needed right now. I have a friend in her late forties who has just done this so it was weird to read about it! A great topic for a novel and a fun read too. I love the fact the author was an air stewardness as this gave the novel lots of good details and nuances. A lovely bit of romance and in the most romantic city in the world. I rather think that that might be on a plane though too!

Good, with lots of humour. Penny was a great character. Refreshing to have a 50 year-old protagonist. Loved the flying element. I thought Matt was very immature. The plot was a bit rushed. One thing I didn't like was the stilted language, as in, 'I cannot' instead of 'I can't'. Penny sounded far too formal at times. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Paris is one of my favourite travel destinations, and this, as well as the cute cover, drew me in. This book uses a well-known plot and follows middle-aged Penny as she embarks on a career change as a flight attendant. Add in a grumpy pilot, and sparks fly.

This was a sweet, clean read, with nothing heavy or complicated.

I finished this easy, quick read in an hour.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.

Fly Me to Paris

By Helga Jensen

REVIEW:
I love romance books where the characters are older. When a character has history the story is already much more interesting. The plot is then fully able to focus on the romance, which this book did. The enemies to lovers trope is also slightly at play which is one of my favorite tropes. Though he scenery was a little lack luster for a scene in Paris, as well as the build up for the characters coming together. This book to me was just not swoon worthy, but still had beautiful aspects.

Love a light romance fun read. I especially enjoyed having an older lead character. This style story can be somewhat predictable, but is this one of the things I like most about them. I will be seeking out more from this author.

oh yes yes yes, a big yes for that book!!! First time for me to read a book by Helga Jense, and oh boy, how I loved it!!!! I wasn't expecting to enjoy that book so much!!! Here we are following a woman who just got dumped by her boyfriend and who decided to change her life and so change her job. She becomes flight attend. So much fun to read this book! So much fun to read about the training to become cabin crew! So much fun to read about what is going to happen during the first flights! And oh of course the best part of this book! The romance! I can only recommend this book to you if you love flying, if you love travelling and if you want a fun book to read!!!! 4 stars out of 5 for me!

Quite a sweet story and I enjoyed that it was about an older couple around my age! But I felt like the story was being told in a parrot like fashion, very matter of fact and no emotion in the writing at all. It could’ve been so much better as the characters were great as was the storyline but I did still enjoy it x

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. I love the cover! I liked the story but it just seemed very very rushed! I feel like I was reading a book on red bull. I felt since it was so rushed it was just very unrealistic. But if you are looking for a light hearted easy read about an older lady finding herself in life you will like this novel. It is great for a beach read.

Fly Me to Paris by Helga Jensen was a feel good story about a young girl trying to find her way in the world. Penny is a good hearted person that makes you cheer her on. She gets involved in a relationship that up until the end, you feel is toxic and you don’t really know what the outcome will be. Thank you NetGalley for this electronic advanced reader copy. I’ll be on the lookout for more books by this author and will be recommending this one!

This is a new author for me and I picked the book based on the fact it had Paris in the title as I am obsessed with anything Parisian and am so pleased I have it a go as not only have I found a new author but this was a delightful read and love how the author round about relatable characters and issues and how it’s possible to make a fresh start when approaching your 50s.

I loved the descriptions of Paris and of the details surrounding working as cabin crew and made me feel like I was there within the book. This was a brilliant uplifting light hearted read.

This book gives hope that no matter what age you are it’s never too late to start again and fulfil your dreams. I would love a sequel to this to see where penny’s life takes her next.

This was a good second chance book. I loved that the character turned a rubbish situation into a chance to find herself and the things that she enjoyed out of life. Feel good rom com.

Penny isn't happy with her life. Her boyfriend tells her he's in love with someone else. She decides to try to train for cabin crew since she's just turned 50 and wants to make a new start. Loved this book

What a cute book! Penny is 50 years old and gets dumped by her boyfriend. She decided to become a flight attendant. Loved how the book went through the interview and training process and her first flights. It was such a refreshing change to have a romance about a middle age couple when Penny meets handsome Captain Matt. Will definitely be reading more by this author.

What a lovely story about love, loss and finding yourself and never being too old to change anything. I loved how this story was about an older person finding their place with work, love and friendship. It captured all the special moments of retraining for a new job, having the will to want to go and do something new and finding love along the way. This is a special story and would love to see these characters again, I love them. Helga is an amazing author. Thank you for this opportunity.

I love all things Paris (it is my dream travel destination) so of course I picked this book - and the cover was divine. Based in England, Penny, who is 50, just got dumped by her long time boyfriend. She meets glamorous Carys, a flight crew member, who suggests she apply for a position, as the airline is looking to hire ‘mature’ crew. Stuck in a retail job, she takes the leap and applies. It follows her journey of applying, safety and crew training and having her first flight. She meets handsome (but very rude) Captain Matt…and sparks fly.

This book was wonderful. I learned about all that goes into flight crew training. I also enjoyed that Penny was midlife and all that comes along with it. The only thing I didn’t care for was the immaturity of Matt and his handling of their relationship. It was embarrassing for a man his age - and I wouldn’t have given him so many chances. However this book is a good romcom that made me laugh and yearn for a life of traveling Europe.

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

What strikes me the most about Penny is her complete and utter immaturity. What 50 year old woman with a modicum of self respect and confidence cries when she fails a test or going down a slide? Refuses to allow anyone as a friend to get close to her due to a mishap with a childhood friend during childhood? Is totally reliant on a boyfriend who has a separate life that she is not privy? She I very hard to like given these attributes despite as hard as I tried when reading this. Yes, the story ends in a nice wrapped bow but how quickly it evolved was hard to grasp.

Firstly I would like to thank HeraAudio and the author Helga Jensen for access to fly me to Paris

The review I am going to make is an honest review regardless of the access I received for this book. It should be noted I was not paid for this review and ensure honesty in all my reviews.

This book finds Penny who is not living her life to the fullest and has turned fifty with little job thrill and a long-term boyfriend who will not commit. She takes a job as cabin crew and to gain a sense of adventure from her life – where she meets the pilot Matt (annoying and handsome how typical!).
It was a very easy and engaging book to read, and this author did something different with romance not following a twenty year to Paris but an older main character and I enjoyed this change from my usual romance reads. I would pick up another book by Helga in a heartbeat.

Very excited to read and acquire Foy Me To Paris. I’ve loved anything Paris themed since Emily In Paris and even before that, it’s so nice to see what is considered an older heroine featured in a book like this, especially since shows like Younger ect, and I can’t wait to share my thoughts.
