Heartbreakingly raw and honest. I'm so grateful to have been given a chance to learn more about the man i felt i got to know as a kid growing up on CKY and Viva La Bam. I loved this and feel it's a must read for any kid that grew up on early 2000s skate culture.

Such a raw look at addiction. Growing up I was a fan of Viva La Bam but was definitely too young to know about drug addition. Now as an adult knowing people who struggle with addiction, it's really interesting to hear something from their perspective. I'm glad that he was finally able to get sober after fighting for so long.

đź’Thoughts:
This was an interesting memoir. I remember watching Brandon Novak when he was on Viva La Bam. I could definitely tell when I watched that show that many of those guys were using drugs. Some of the crazy things they did wouldn’t be done by someone sober!

This was the first addiction memoir that I’ve read. It was interesting to get a first hand account of Brandon’s drug use and how it affected his life. I listening to this book because I work with a lot of patients in the ER suffering from drug and alcohol addiction. It’s very sad to see.

I was amazed to learned that after 20 years of addiction, Brandon is clean and sober now! That takes serious deduction! As someone who has never suffered from addiction, I felt like this book helped me look at addiction from a different perspective.

Damn, this was dark. I grew up with this cast of misfits. Grew up watching Viva La Bam, listening to HIM and CKY. I knew there was a dark underbelly, tragedy exacerbated by addiction. Overall, this is beautifully told.
