Unfortunately yours is the follow up to Secretly Yours in the A Vine Mess series and it’s yet another banger from Tessa Bailey. I held off reading this for ages because I always expect the follow up books focusing on the side characters to be not so interesting. In this case I was completely wrong and I ate this book up in under 24hrs.

This book is one of the best marriage of conveniences I have read and I adored August and Natalie as a couple. They have so much fantastic banter, TB rights amazing witty banter and I’m always in awe of how she thinks of it all. I swear every TB book I read is spicier than the last and this was no exception and I absolutely love it. I tagged at least 3 pages with really stand out quotes from this book. My favourite is page 145 ‘Princess, that is a core memory. It’ll be with me in the f*cking afterlife.’

The only thing about this book that didn’t quite do it for me is the lack of side plots for the characters and in the world. In ‘Secretly Yours’ there was Hallie’s gardening business and the modernising the wine scene happening in the background that added depth to the story which I feel was lacking in this book. This one felt specifically focused on these two characters and their marriage and relatively little else. Despite this I still loved the book and it’s an enthusiastic 4 stars from me.

As much as I try to love Tessa Bailey, I can never really seem to understand the hype. It honestly just feels like a poorly written Wattpad first draft that has had no structural editing. The characters are frustrating, the plot is far to fast and the characters morals are completely off (especially when it comes to relationship dynamics and consent). The love interests Bailey writes give off major Andrew Tate vibes, very much not the kind of men you would ever want to end up with.

Tessa Bailey has absolutely nailed Unfortunately Yours!! God, this was so good. A great mix of sweet and funny and spicy. I think Tessa just has such a way with words and even more so with unique stories. Loved reading this!

I enjoyed this heartfelt romance. The banter between the characters was on point. A marriage off convenience and grumpy sunshine trope. I enjoyed this one better than the first from this series. Tessa Bailey does it again!

3.5 stars
I don’t usually like the fake dating/ marriage trope but I did end up really enjoying this. I grew to love the characters and their banter was really cute! Overall a really enjoyable fluffy read.
Thank you netfalley for providing an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I liked Natalie in Secretly Yours, so knew I was going to enjoy this read. This is a 4.5 for me.

My favourite trope is enemies to lovers and this did not disappoint. What I loved was the banter. The back and forth between August and Natalie was hilarious and had me laughing. Was definitely entertaining throughout. There was some good character growth between the two of them and the moment they realised they actually did need each other was heart-warming.

With Natalie proposing a fake marriage, so she could access a trust fund and for August to secure a bank loan to run his winery, it seemed like a good deal for both of them. They just had to fake it until they got what they wanted and then exit. Both of them just didn't realise what they wanted was right in front of them.

I like when two people from two different worlds come together to make it work. You never know what you need until it's presented to you.

I definitely liked this book more than the first in the series. It's my second Tessa book and I'm a fan :)

I'm going to put this out there - this was better than Secretly Yours.

While the premise is still slightly crazy, it MAKES SENSE. And also, the characterisation of the main couple was CONSISTENT.

It took me a while to get into it, but I actually enjoyed this one. Did August annoy me by saying the right things and recognising that Natalie's family shut her out, but then going and doing the exact same thing, despite having said, multiple times, that she's more than qualified and very skilled at working a winery? Yeah, yeah he did.

But, more than that, I don't understand how Natalie ended up trying to rekindle a relationship with her mother, who CONTINUALLY puts her down and criticises her for no reason other than that she likes having control. I really really didn't like Corinne, and I wish Natalie would have nothing to do with her.

That being said, I liked Natalie and August's relationship, how they stood up for each other, and ended up working to create something solid, instead of just pretending.

Anyway, rants over. I just think that this book deserves a read, even if you didn't like Secretly Yours, because IMO it's way better. Julian and Hallie just annoyed me in that one.

Unfortunately Yours is the second book in the A Vine Mess series by Tessa Bailey. This is a contemporary romantic comedy that can be read as a standalone. If you love a Marriage of Convenience, opposites attract trope with great banter and lots of laughs, then this is definitely your next read.
In this story follows Natalie and August. A failed business venture has left Natalie broke and destitute. She has had to return home to her family's vineyard to regroup. Wanting to get her hands on her inheritance so that she can return to the city, she is shocked when former navy seal and owner of his own vineyard volunteers.
The attraction and tension between Natalie and August was on fire. August is definitely book boyfriend material. Charming, attentive and everything you want in a man while Natalie is smart and ambitious.
Overall, Tessa Bailey wrote another outstanding book. This is a great addition to the series and I enjoyed all aspects of the story. From the chemistry to the banter and spice, I'm excited to see what else is to come next of this series.

Natalie and Autumn are sworn enemies (but still have a spark of attraction) so when they are both in need of a solution to their financial issues, marriage is the last thing anyone suspected. But marry they do. A little predictable in regards to the "hate turns to love" storyline but a good read anyway.

Marriage of convenience - light and fluffy easy read as per Tessa's catalogue. I hadn't read the first book, but I don't believe you need to as they are interconnected standalone. I don't feel like this was a true form enemies to lovers, there was a little bit of angst but it was more flirty than 'we hate each other' vibes. But all in all, a solid comfortable read.

With every Tessa Bailey novel I read, I am more blown away by the depth and difference she creates within her characters.
They aren't just spicy romance. They have purpose, connection and stories that stick with you.
August Cates is officially my favourite book man. All real life men are ruined for me at this point.

As always, easy to read, fast paced, the perfect amount of spice, and the perfect amount of August. A must read.

Tessa Bailey just knows what I like. I loved this way more than Secretly Yours, and thought that Natalie and August were perfectly matched - the banter and the chemistry is unmatched. While some of the angst was a little frustrating, the sweeter moments were what really kept me going. I always love the way Tessa Bailey creates these scenarios, pushes her characters buttons and adds in the right amount of spice to keep things interesting. If you love a good romance novel or you've been a fan of her previous books, I can't see why Unfortunately Yours wouldn't be a great book for you.

Tessa Bailey has a way of us king me in with these small town sibling romance series.
Unfortunately Yours continues on with Natalie Vos's story. We saw her meet August in Secretly Yours, when they had amazing chemistry but his hangups about his terrible wine got in the way.
When Natalie resigns herself to having to wed someone to get her trustfund, somehow she convinces August to marry her with the offer of being able to help him to get a loan to save the Winery he has built in his best friends legacy. Initially the plan is for it to last a month but will the real chemistry they have with each other get in the way.
I always appreciate the fake marriage & small town tropes and this one doesn't disappoint. Fun chemistry with a deeper emotional side.

This one's much better than the first one! I loved August and Natalie's relationship <3 The honesty and communication is great! And oooo talk about contraception before they actually did the act, and about them both being clean. Thank the lord. There was a bit of an unrealistic part from August, no idea if a man would actually come to that conclusion by himself, all internal thinking about what a woman would think and how he fucked up. I hope it's true for some men, but I just don't know, and I wonder if a real life man would fly across the country looking for his missus rather than just try calling a few times. But I loved the way this ended (not the epilogue but the bit before that). Need to find a copy to buy

Unfortunately Yours is the second half of the A Vine Mess duology.

Unfortunately Yours follows the Vos daughter, Natalie, and Navy SEAL, August, and their fake dating / marriage of convenience. Natalie needs access to her trust fund to reestablish herself in New York whilst August requires a small business loan to save his failing vineyard, the dream of his deceased best friend.

August and Natalie had a brief encounter in the first novel and this one is set only weeks later. This leads to a kind of instalove between them. Sometimes this gives me the ick but it works. The chemistry is undeniable and the support they give each other is swoon worthy.

If you’re a fan of TB’s Bellinger Sisters duo, this one is also likely to be your cup of tea.

Scrolling through my Netgalley shelf, I clicked on this Tessa Bailey book, I still have Book #1 in this series to read but had heard mixed reviews, so it's still sitting there to read. I have to admit, going into this book - because of what I had heard for the first one - this one I was a bit cautious about going. The book is set in the world of Wineries where we meet Wine Royalty Natalie and beginner winery owner August. Natalie despite being wealthy and wine royalty, her trust fund is tied up with stipulations like she has to be married first. August's best friend Sam died in action when they were in the military. Sam always talked about opening his winery when they returned to civilian life. Since Sam can't do it, August has opened it in his memory. The thing is that August isn't very good and doesn't have the funds to make it successful. Enter Natalie's proposition - she and August will be fake married. With that, Natalie can get her trust fund and with Natalie's connections- August can get an approved bank loan. What happens though when during their fake engagement, feelings become real and August gets an investor in Sam's dad- no longer needing Natalie's connections. Will this relationship blur into reality or will Natalie feel betrayed and quit? I have to admit, I wasn't keen on Natalie as her character annoyed me and she did act like a prissy person and superior and whiny at times. On the other hand, I did love August and he rivals with Fox from Hook, Line and Sinker by Tessa Bailey now for my affections. If you are on the lookout for a sweet fake romance novel with wine - check out "Unfortunately Yours” by Tessa Bailey today.

This is book 2 of A Vine Mess Series.

I was lucky to receive this as an ARC on NetGalley but have only just been able to read it because of university exams.

A down-on-her-luck Napa heiress suggests a mutually beneficial marriage of convenience to a man she can't stand... only to discover there's a fine line between love and hate. After losing her job and her fiance in one fell swoop, Natalie Vos returned home to lick her wounds. A few months later, she's sufficiently drowned her sorrows in cabernet and she's ready to get back on her feet. She just needs her trust fund to finance her new business venture. Unfortunatelv, the terms require she marry before she can have the money. And well, dumped, remember? But Natalie is desperate enough to propose to a man who makes her want to kill him--and kiss him, in equal measure. August Cates may own a vineyard, but he doesn't know jack about making wine. He's determined to do his late best friend proud, no matter what it takes. Except his tasting room is empty, his wine is disgusting (seriously, he once saw someone gag), and his buddy's legacy is circling the drain. No bank will give him the loan he needs to turn the business around... and then the gorgeous, feisty heiress knocks on his door. Natalie has haunted his dreams since the moment they met, but their sizzling chemistry immediately morphed into simmering insults. Now, a quickie marriage could help them both. A sham wedding, a few weeks living under the same roof, and then they can go their separate ways--assuming they make it out alive. How hard could it be? There's just one thing they didn't account for: their unfortunate, unbearable, undeniable attraction.

💜Marriage of Convenience
💜Enemies to Lovers
💜Forced Proximity
💜Opposites Attract
