Short but sweet! The Renegade is a really sweet love story about a wounded vet & a single mom. It’s a quick read but still has enough character depth that it doesn’t feel like you’re just glossing over the characters’ personalities and history. I would definitely recommend this stand alone (but part of a series) HEA!

Oh my goodness this was such a sweet story!!! It was so much better than I thought it was going to be!

Too often with these short novellas you might be lucky if you get a bit of romance, a bit of spice, a bit of character. But usually you don't get any real depth. This however was the perfect short read.

One thing I found rather interesting was how the FMC was a hopeful actress: something you so often have in movies but I would say has become rather rare in books.
I even got emotional when the MMC opened up about his trauma, and it was written in an absolutely beautiful way. Yes it was rather instalove but despite that and considering that it was also a novella I think it was done brilliantly.

I loved the side characters and the way they added to the story.

A really good and fun read that I would absolutely recommend!!

Good book! This book was definitely hot hot hot! It had plenty of romance and gave me all the feels!! It was a bit short but I still felt like I got the whole story! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I will recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

This is an excellent tale of what can happen when you take a chance. Jo is taking one last shot at her dream job, while Sawyer is about to take a chance on living again. And while it may seem whirlwind to Jo, maybe it really isn’t. Because when you know, you just KNOW it’s right. But is it forever or just a fling?

I admired the courage both Sawyer and Jo had in finding their way through doubts and fears to each other. They’re honest about their feelings, their worries, and their dreams. And they communicate. Like, really. So wonderfully that when one gets scared and thinks it’s the end, it doesn’t require a huge grovel or grand feats to get past the bump and on with their journey to forever.

You also don’t need to read the rest of this series to understand who’s who and why they matter to this story. It’s a great break from reality if you have an hour or two to spare and a desire to fall with two people who’ve seen a lot in their lives and still manage to find love.

I found this book had me staying up until the early hours of the morning to find out what was going to happen to the people involved.
I will not go into great detail as it can spoil the story for others. I will say it is tense and thrilling, and though there is a romantic element, it does not distract but enhances the story.

I love every chance to visit Remington and I especially loved this visit because it included a small cameo from all the past couples! Even some giving advice to Jo and Sawyer.

Sawyer is the manager at Crooked Angel and ex-military, so he fits right in with the first responders crew. Jo is a single mom and the sister to Frankie, a Remington Detective. Jo is in town to audition for a TV show when she meets Sawyer at the Crooked Angel and they immediately hit it off.

They were a lot of logistical challenges for the two since Jo lives in Savannah with her daughter full time and Sawyer obviously lives in Remington. But they were great at working it out and loved the addition of them as a couple.
Thank you @netgalley and @kimberlykincaidauthor for the ARC!

I expected more of a big deal being made about Sawyers age, after reading the description. It's brought up only a couple times and never really in a negative way. His character is hotness times 10. He tells it straight. I like that. leaves no room for guessing. Jo is the same way. They make a great couple.

This books follows single mother Josephine, who years after giving up her dream role as an actress is ready to try again. She meets Sawyer, a younger-than-her Marine who has a traumatic past from his service. Their relationship unfolds naturally and is so sweet to experience through their eyes.
This is a super easy to read, fast-paced romance that is perfect for anyone who wants to melt into a cute, heart-felt book. There’s even a little bit of spice (🌶️/5)for those who like a little something extra.
