I loved the fact that Elsa is a mum and a secret agent. As a female reader I enjoy complex female characters and get excited when I find them. I love the varios Povs in the story the flashbacks to the past where a bit confusing at some point but still was a very enjoyable book. I know there is plenty of bad reviews for this book being a “cliche” but that is the fact that made my reading more enjoyable. I enjoy read it and stress me out and bring at smile at my face and that is what matter in the end when you finish a book. Thanks to Aria &Aries, Head of Zeus and NetGalley for a advantage Copy of this book.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Lots of twists and turns and kept me happily engaged all the way through. The book starts off in a very normal fashion, single mum, boyfriend proposing and then goes off into an action packed whole world is hunting me scenario. Well worth the read.

A roller coaster ride of fast fuelled adrenaline as a young mother struggles to discover why she has become the kill target for multiple secret agents across the world. Ten years of living a blame free life as a single mother struggling to bring up young twins whilst simultaneously earning a living as a health instructor leaves her dangerously ill equipped to fight the dangers surrounding her children and those mercenaries and members of multiple secret agencies intent on discovering her secret then killing her. Fast paced, convoluted plot line , unable to recognise or identify who the bad guys are, leaves the reader no choice other than sit back, enjoy the ride and trust all will be revealed as the multiple deaths pile up. A complex finale leaving little room for any error from whoever is working to resolve this crazy scenario requires a breathless race towards the ultimate exquisite conclusion. Many thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for this hugely entertaining read that has dragged this reader into the screaming tension of a completely new and different genre towards for me a writers work just waiting to be explored and enjoyed.

And that’s how you do it folks! That was one of the most intense and fun book I have read so far this year. Starting on chapter one and until the end we get shot out of a cannon.

We have Elsa Zero who is on a nice date with her fiancé Joel who picks that day to propose to her. Awwwww, I knew all along that crazy couple would make it! Oh, until he excuses himself to take a phone call and when he comes back commences to beating the crap out of her. It turns out he just received a kill order on Elsa along with every single covert government agency in the world. Elsa just became the most dangerous person in the world and she has no clue why.

This book quickly moves with Elsa (who we find out is a retired covert agent), along with her two kids, trying to thwart attempt after attempt on her life. And while she is trying to stay alive she also is trying to find out why everyone wants to kill her. And bullets fly, heads explode, and twists I never see coming happen in this glorious, brutal and profane caper. Full of intense action sequences with compelling and interesting characters who are screaming for a eight episode Netflix arc.

This was almost my second five star of the year but I had to throttle back some. Mainly Elsa….. She was someone bland and emotionless for the first 75% of this book but in her defense she was running for her life for most of it. But towards the end she becomes a great character. I laughed out loud at some of her snarky comments. It just took awhile to get there.

Is this a book you are going to remember tomorrow? Maybe not? Is it going to kick your ass in a good way? Most definitely! A very good entertaining book and highly recommended. And I think it sets up for a sequel? Lol. I’m really not sure what I read in that last chapter.

I really appreciate Aria & Aries, Head of Zeus for giving me the opportunity to review this book for free for a honest review and it has a publication date of July 6, 2023

Elsa Zero is a former secret agent. When operatives from every imaginable intelligence agency threaten her life, she has to figure out why and how to stop them before they succeed. This book was action packed from the beginning and continued to the end. The story was a little over the top for me personally but overall I enjoyed the book.

Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review. A fantastic edge of your seat thriller. This book contains everything I love in a good story, intrigue, fast paced action, twists and a little humour. Elsa zero is a brilliant character who I was routing for right from the start. This book would make an amazing film or series and I definitely got the impression that there would be another book from this story (I hope!). One of my favourite books so far this year. Highly recommended. 5 stars from me.

This is a fast paced thriller following the main character as she strives to find out why she is being targeted by numerous international agencies. 9 years previously she was working for a private organisation on a mission to destroy a hard drive during which they came under attack resulting in only 3 members surviving.
This book starts off with a bang as an attempt is made to kill her and she has to flee. Running to not only survive but find out who is behind this attack and why she has to link up with the other survivors from that mission.
There are a lot of twists and turns as she is never sure who is trying to kill her and who actually wants to kill her.

Great book, plenty of action and a smattering of humour. Really liked the main character, she came alive on the page. This would make a fabulous movie.

The story centres around Elsa Zero, a former secret agent who is now leading a seemingly normal life as a wife and mother. However, her world is turned upside down when she becomes the target of every intelligence agency in the world.

The character of Elsa Zero is a compelling protagonist. She is a complex and multifaceted character, showcasing her skills as a former agent while also highlighting her vulnerability as a mother trying to protect her children. The author does an excellent job of developing her character and making her relatable to readers.

The plot is filled with twists and turns, keeping the reader guessing and engaged throughout. The pacing is well-executed, with plenty of action sequences that are both thrilling and suspenseful. The writing style is crisp and descriptive, creating vivid imagery that enhances the reading experience.

Elsa Zero finally thought she had figured out her life. As an ex-spy and single mother, she thought things were going well with her boyfriend. Even better when they’re on a date and he proposes – with a huge diamond. Until the very night he proposes she finds herself running for her life. She thought she had put the spy life behind her, but now it seems every intelligence agency in the world is out to get her. Unknown to her, she is in possession of a deadly secret. As she struggles to stay alive long enough to figure out what it is, she must put everything she has come to know aside. Will she be able to figure this out before it’s too late?

This book started off with a bang. We were immediately dropped into some action and then we were left picking up the pieces of what happened. For me it was a little too abrupt and not really to my liking. As the book continued there was tons of action, which I really enjoyed. The main theme of the book wasn’t really revealed until pretty far in either. I spent a lot of the book just trying to figure out what was going on, but the action did hold my attention. At time this one was a little graphic, but it worked in with the story overall and was nicely done. This really was a high-octane thriller, and if you enjoy elaborate and over-the-top action flicks then you will enjoy this one.

Thank you so much to Aria & Aries, Head of Zeus, and Netgalley @netgalley, for the #gifted e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the sound of this book. Unfortunately I didn't love reading it .It did get off to a banging start, and I thought it was going to be a fun read, but it just wasn't the best read for me after that. Shame but not for me..

Zero Kill by M.K. Hill is a high-stakes action thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

Elsa Zero is the perfect protagonist for this pulse-pounding adventure. She’s smart, she’s tough, and she’s got a no-nonsense approach. As she gets closer to the truth, the stakes get higher, and the tension builds to a fever pitch.
This book does not disappoint and has an interesting plot that keeps you turning the pages until the end. The story was very fast-paced, good action and investigative work.
Full of tense action, twist after twist, and characters who pull you deep into their journey. I loved every second of this book.

This is a fast paced action thriller from the get the go to the very end with a strong, smart female lead in Elisa Zero. Nice plot, with plenty of humour, and I found the characters fun. Hope to spend more time with Elisa in future books. Thank you to Aria & Aries and NetGalley for the ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.

Elsa Zero is living a happy life with her twins and fiance Joel, until things suddenly go seriously wrong, and Elsa is forced to rely on her former skills to survive. There's lots of action and some funny characters, but the plot becomes a bit improbable when Elsa discovers why she has been targeted.

This spy story is exceedingly complicated making it difficult to know who is on what sidecars they all seem to betray each other. The theme is a deadly virus about to be unleashed on London. It originated many years ago and has resurfaced. The spy from years ago is now the target of multiple agencies even as she has been trying to settle her life with twins (by the husband of another colleague spy) . It all comes back to haunt her and the reader. I found this a difficult read and can’t find much to recommend it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Aria & Aries for providing an arc in exchange for an honest review.
Zero Kill releases July 6, 2023

Elsa, a single mother to two 8 year old twins, is also an ex-secret agent who we see come out of retirement when her newly fiancé, Joel, burns her idyllic suburban life and she finds herself the target of every intelligence agency.
Was everything they had together a lie? A job? A way to get close to her before ultimately getting orders to kill her?

This is a multi-pov story with a few flashback chapters from a previous mission in Buenos Aires, 9 years ago.

I liked how this was action packed from the get go with intrigue and high stakes.
However, I could have done without the element of cheating.
I wish that the whole encoded dna thing was introduced into the story earlier as it would have helped to keep my attention more.
I also think that this would have benefitted from having an exclusive pov from Joel but we didn’t really get that.

From my schoolboy physics, electromagnetic waves travel at 186,000 miles per second and without acceleration and until now it's the only thing that does. So, what's new? Zero Kill. It does not accelerate, it flies from the get go. It's hard to recall a novel which keeps you holding your breath the whole way through as the action crashes around you. But there again, if the whole world's worth of covert organisations are after your head, what would you expect? That's the position Elsa Zero find's herself in. Poor woman, she's wined and dined and then proposed to, then her future husband breaks it off, or at least tries to and it's her head I'm talking about! It's a novel which encompasses some advanced scientific concepts which are available now, which makes it even more worrisome. If you like a thriller on steroids, this novel is for you.

What an absolutely mindblowing read! This is the exact kind of thriller that i love!

An absolutely complex plot that is wonderfully paced and consistent from beginning to end - but keeps you on the edge of your seat!

I could not put this down and read it in a matter of days!

You know what? I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Fast paced, full of action and with a character who probably won't win the Miss Congeniality titles anytime soon but who is none the less compelling and quite a bit of fun to spend time with. If your idea of fun includes being shot at, driven off a bridge and subject to all manner of various assassination attempts that is ...

I was not expecting the opening chapter. It starts with a somewhat gruff and thoroughly rude Elsa Zero receiving an unexpected proposal and ends with an even more unexpected attempt on her life. And why not? Elsa is, unbeknownst to her, public enemy number one - on a very global scale. Within a few hours a romantic evening out has turned into the night from hell and that is only the start of Elsa's worries, and the start of the fun times for us readers. If you like a high tension, spy style thriller, then this could be right up your street because Elsa is a retired deep-cover agent, previously hired by numerous agencies across the globe for top secret incursions, and a woman with a price on her head ... with no idea why. And that's half the fun for us as readers, trying to second guess exactly what is going on.

The story is dual timeline affair. Elsa finally gets to understand that the reason people want to kill her is linked to her last mission, one in which she nearly died. Quite why it has triggered people to act now is unknown, but it leads to high octane scenes and showdowns across the Capital as Elsa, and the company she used to work for, try to understand just what is going on. For all her faults, and there are many, many of those, I kind fo liked Elsa. Yes, she is the stereotypical hard nut of a woman, rude, abrupt, unable to display emotion to anyone other than her children, and even that is somewhat constrained and on her terms. Then again, which parent/aunt/grandparent hasn't gotten fed up of reading the same book to kids over and over? Elsa is just a little less capable of filtering her frustration than most. But she is tough, quick thinking and compassionate - in her own special way. Mark Hill has played a clever game showing her professional clinical side but often balancing it against her weak spot - the love for her children.

There are a number of surprises spring on us throughout this book, although I had guessed one of the antagonists very early on. It was a bit of a no brainer the more we learned of Elsa's past, but still played carefully with the small amount of uncertainty as to which side they were really on. The root cause of Elsa's woes I did not see coming and makes for a very interesting proposition. And whilst some semblance of altruism is professed by the bad guys as to why they are acting now, it's quite clear that it is truthfully about personal gain. One of the surprise star characters, for me, was Saint. A drunk, yes, but still able to pull off the seemingly impossible and the kind of support that Elsa needs by her side. Then again, Elsa's parents, Greta and Howard, have a few aces up their sleeve and their partnership and bickering, as well as their very distant interactions with Elsa, really did make me smile.

The ending of the book saw the pace pick up, with fight scenes and a high stakes showdown which had me, sitting on the edge of my seat, cheering Elsa on and, in the final moments chuckling to myself. If you read the book, you'll understand why. The very end of the book leaves us with so much promise of what could be yet to come, hopefully with Saint, Greta and Howard having Elsa's back. Fun, fast paced and a little unexpected. Can't wait for more.
