I WILL FOREVER BE THINKING ABOUT THIS BOOK!!! this entire duology was everything and more. the world building, the magic, the characters!!!! 5 star read!

I loooooved this book! Sorry it took me so long to get to it. Life got in the way. I loved how in this book we got Ione's pov a lot more. The way her personality had changed because of the maiden card was really interesting and I liked seeing her become softer once she was free from it. However, It was still clear that she wasn't the same as she had been in book 1. I also loved the back story for the sheperd king and the spirit of the wood. I cannot stop talking about this duology :) .

I LOVE RACHEL GILLIG. Her characters are just the best. I'm obsessed with this magic system, its so unique and fascinating to me. I did want more of the main characters from the first book, but for reasons, that wasn't possible. But we did get an ending for everyone! There were characters in the first book that I wasn't sure about, but this book made me love them. There was tension, romance, suspense, and some action, so a little bit of everything. It was just the best and I can't wait to read it again!

I am in complete awe of this author after finishing this delightful duology! I can't believe how amazing this book was. The magic, the characters, and the politics were wonderful. One of the best books I've had the pleasure of picking up this year!

This was an amazing sequel. The story was very well written and didn’t overdo certain themes.
More romance, more action and drama this time around. The plot kept me on the edge of my seat and kept me entertained. I didn’t want to put the book down.

Two Twisted Crowns picks up right where One Dark Window left off but Gillig gives more of a voice to the secondary characters who we become equally invested in. These books are fast-paced and action-packed with themes of romance and found family. Highly recommend!

4.5/5⭐️ I am so sad that this is over 😭
This was the perfect ending to this duology! I absolutely loved Ravyn and Elspeth in the first book, but thoroughly enjoyed diving into everyone else’s stories and POV’s. Especially Elm getting his own love story!!!!
Obviously I could always use more romance for Ravyn and Elspeth because I love them 🖤 but it was perfect and I am so glad they got their HEA.
Someone tell me WHY I was devastated to see The Shepherd King go???? 🥹 he really grew on me during book two.
Thank you to NetGalley for the original ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Gripped by a tyrant king and in the thrall of dark magic, the kingdom is in peril. Elspeth and Ravyn have gathered most of the twelve Providence Cards, but the last—and most important—one remains to be found: the Twin Alders. If they’re going to find the card before Solstice and set free the kingdom, they will need to journey through the dangerous mist-cloaked forest. The only one who can lead them through is the monster that shares Elspeth’s head: the Nightmare.
This book was everything fantasy should be. I had to go back and read the first book in this series. However I enjoyed every minute of it. I devoured this book.

I give this book 10 stars and a very good book. Very well written and fast reading. You will not be disappointed and kept me guessing the whole time, couldnt put it down.

Better late than never, right? I struggled through this book. I enjoyed the first book, but I felt like the two MC's, Ravyn and Elspeth were side characters in this and I wanted more from them, especially at the end! I felt like this book just kinda fell flat for me and I wasn't engrossed in the story. It did wrap up nicely, but I just wasn't a fan of this one - not for me.

This emotional end to the duology had me tearing up multiple times. I loved the stories ability to weave together so many detailed storylines but still keep you wanting more.
Each character description, and character arc was *chefs kiss*
Rachel really knows how to write a character and make you fall in love.
It was stunning, heartbreaking and just an overall piece of art! The ending was phenomenal.
Love this book and the Sheppard King SO MUCH.

I loved the writing of this book and all the twists and turns. You never know what is going to happen! The world building is amazing and the storyline is phenomenal. I did feel the story dragged a bit like the first book but I still really enjoyed this read!

I have never read a sequel to a book that was as perfect as this one. I loved being in the nightmares head and trying to figure out what the solution was going to be to the mist. I was captivated the entire time and just plowed through it. I recommend this duology to everyone looking for a fantasy series that doesn't have a huge commitment. I can't wait to see what else Rachel Gillig comes out with.

I received this book as an advance copy, so I had to read the first one before this one. The first one started a little slow as the author built the world, but then it really took off and ended on a cliffhanger. I immediately jumped into this one. I really liked it a lot! I found the magic cards to be a very unique concept, albeit somewhat confusing at times trying to keep straight which cards meant what. I thoroughly enjoyed the interpersonal relationships and the conclusion of this story, even though I found a few things to be a bit hard to follow (I think Rachel Gillig is just way more clever than my brain can comprehend). I’ll be looking for more books from this author!

What a stellar duology. This book didn’t drag with the multiple povs and less of Elspeth, but everyone in it is someone we genuinely learn to care about. Multiple povs are not usually popular with me but this was done so well. It was surprising how much I didn’t mind having more Elm and Ione. We get all kinds of love stories. It was wonderful to learn more of their relationship and what they endured. For Elspeth fans don’t worry she is still in this one just not as much as One Dark Window.
Anytime with Ravyn and Nightmare was compelling. Any page with him and either Ravyn or Elspeth is just a jewel of communication. Their interactions were great just “...two liars struggling with the truth…”
And once again the world and lore building is top tier. I cried more than I should have in this book, but I just loved it. Bittersweet, atmospheric, and the perfect season to read this book. I will read anything Rachel Gillig writes.
Special thanks to NetGalley and Orbit Books for sharing this book with me in exchange for my honest review.

I gave this book my all. Multiple times, in fact. Each time I picked it up I got more and more annoyed or bored. Annoyed that the pacing was so slow and bored that nothing had seemed to happen yet. I know my opinion is against the grain, but this duology could have been one 400 page book. That being said, I know and trust many people's opinions who absolutely loved this book. Please try for yourself!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to review this book. All opinions are my own.

Two Twisted Crowns is a beautifully crafted novel that offers profound insight into the king and his motives. It provides a fitting and emotionally resonant conclusion to the duology. The continued character development and the lengths to which everyone goes for Elspeth were truly compelling, keeping me fully engaged throughout. The pacing was perfectly balanced, with no moments feeling too slow or rushed, and I was left completely satisfied with the depth of information provided.

I ADORED this series!!! It’s the perfect gothic fantasy for fall!
The romance, the spooky aspects, the stakes, everything had me glued to the pages for the entire duology, but especially book 2. I literally went to work one day and was in PAIN because I couldn’t read all day.
I loved the nightmare and how he made you understand him and like him in the end, even though he caused so much pain.
Also, Ravyn Yew is just 😍😍😍😍

I loved this series. I was so sad when it was over. You do need to read the first book in the series for this one to make sense, it is not a stand alone book. The vibes for both books was gothic, dark, creepy, and kept me on my toes. Highly recommend! Perfect fall read!
I’d like to thank NetGalley and Orbit for my ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This was a stunning sequel that I couldn’t put down. I was so engrossed in the kingdom of Blunder. Blunder is being consumed by dark magic. The only way to free them of it is to collect of the twelve Providence cards. It was such a thrilling adventure and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I’m so sad this duology is over and can’t wait for what Rachel Gillig writes next.
Thank you orbit and netgalley for an arc.
