Definitely one of my favorite series. Two Twisted Crowns was an amazing second book. I loved being able to connect deeper with the characters and gain a better understanding of them. Once hated characters slowly shift to the most loved and I felt their pain as if it was my own. I suffer with bipolar and ADHD, so I deal with a lot of mental demons and struggle to find my place and self worth. While this book is not about mental illness, I think anyone who suffers with it would connect with this series.

I feel like these books weren’t for me. I tried so hard to enjoy them especially after having so many friends love them so much, but I couldn’t get myself to come around to them.

Somehow I liked this one even more than the first??? This was so good and satisfying and I will probably reread this series again!

Two Twisted Crowns was a great sequel. The story moved so well, with so much depth and character growth. The world-building in *Two Twisted Crowns* is immersive, with its dark woods, ancient curses, and mysterious creatures creating a beautiful and terrifying setting. The lore of the world is expanded upon in this sequel, with new revelations and twists that keep the reader engaged and invested in the story. Two Twisted Crowns is such a well-written fantasy book, in a market currently over-saturated with this genre. It has the perfect amount of romance as well without taking away from the plot.

So much fun. I do wish that I remembered more from book 1 when I started this. I should have reread or found a summary.

I enjoyed the magic and the world. I loved the characters.

This one did focus a lot on Elm and Ione’s story but you still got some Ravyn and Elspeth. You didn’t get any slow plot in this one. It jumps off where book one ended.

This duology was dark in a moody way. I’m sad that is is over. The ending gave me all the feels.

I was disappointed that we did not focus on the main couple however, I love this duology. The magic system even the shepard King I hate and love him. But Elspeth had my heart.

Two Twisted Crowns is the gripping and darkly atmospheric sequel to One Dark Window. In this installment, Elspeth confronts the aftermath of her previous actions as she grapples with their far-reaching consequences. The novel is skillfully told from three distinct perspectives—Ravyn, Elm, and Elspeth—each voice offering a unique angle on the unfolding drama. The dual storylines are seamlessly woven together, making the complex narrative easy to follow.

Set against a backdrop of gothic fantasy, the book is brimming with magic, tension, and intense action. The characters’ sharp banter and the pervasive sense of impending danger kept me hooked from the very first page.

The story picks up immediately after the chaos that erupted in the kingdom of Blunder. Ravyn, now allied with Nightmare, embarks on a perilous quest to locate the remaining providence card needed to complete the deck. Their goal is to find the card by the solstice to dispel the dark magic and the accompanying curse. The stakes are high—will they succeed in their mission before time runs out?

I loved the action, mystery and suspense in book two! Book one left me hanging on the edge of a cliff, so it was nice to jump right into book two, right back in the action. I fell more in love with the characters and their cause as the book went on.

This book was wonderful! At first I thought it was slow and was disappointed to see it mostly revolve around Elm and Ione when I wasn’t finished with Elspeth and Raven, but my opinion quickly changed. I loved them all and thought the author did a great job tying everything up.

This book was so good I honestly want to cry. I got very emotional at the end!! It’s such a lush world, and the characters are everything. As much as I loved getting the conclusion in two books I could read a hundred set in this world. I’ll try to write a better review tomorrow but I just adored every single page of this book, and this duology.

I've really tried to get through this, but it's simply not what I signed up for. I thought I would be reading a continuation of Elspeth and Ravyn's story - as they were clearly the MCs in the last book, and their story is far from resolved - but Elm and Ione are apparently the focus now. It's not that I dislike either of them, in fact I like the two together, but this is such a jarring change of pace? One story is still hanging on, and very much pushed to the backburner, but we are getting chapter after chapter about Elm and Ione? Even though I liked them, I found their development as a couple super boring.

I'm not even invested in the quest to gather the cards anymore. They are trying to stop the mist, finish the deck, and oh yeah also free Ione from the Maiden card. Literally none of those quests are interesting anymore - it's boring. Elspeth is completely out of the picture, locked in the far corners of the Shepard king's mind, and Ravyn is just sort of existing and trying to help with the twin alder card search. They don't even interact with one another. The venom vibe here, which I loved in the first story, is non-existent. I feel like I'm alternating between reading this achingly slow search for the twin alder card, and then I'm slogging through chapters about Ione and Elm. Bleh.

I read some reviews with spoilers and I'm clearly not missing anything with that ending.

I'm really bummed - Thanks NetGalley for the ARC I received, but I have to be honest here and this just was not a good read.

I think I enjoyed the first book more. Just wasn’t for me. The writer has beautiful writing style but I got bored at some points.

i liked this book more than one dark window. the romance was CHEF’s kiss and the plot had me sat. ngl, duologies make me nervous because if book 2 isn’t as good, i feels like a waste. but two twisted crowns was such a good conclusion to this duology!!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the wonderful arc in exchange for my honest review.

Without any spoilers, I enjoyed Elm’s pov the most.

Magic system- I don’t think I understood it by the end. I understood the providence cards but why the importance of the winter solstice?? I could have just totally missed it.

I enjoyed one dark window a lot more.

This was the perfect conclusion to the duology, the development of the relationships between side characters coming to the front of the story and getting their own POVs was absolutely wonderful and much needed! I had zero issues with this conclusion, I couldn't have imagined a better wrap up and ending to this amazing story.

I adore this duology SO much. So beautifully gothic and I loved how the second book began to follow additional characters from the first story. The magic system in this world is like no other, and RG’s writing is borderline poetic. I only wish I could read this for the first time again.

I loved how this book continued the feeling of the first one. I was so pleased with the resolution. I’d also love more from this world!

Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown Book Group for this E-Arc!

Rating: 5 stars

I feel in love with the first book, the most unique magic system I have ever read about and an immensely intriguing plot that wouldn’t allow me to put the book down. Finished the first in a day and didn’t think this book would quite be as good. But let me say it was even better!

Without giving any spoilers, I really enjoyed the multiple POVs between the characters continuing the story from one dark window. the story is dark, intriguing and magical. I feel in love with Ravyn in the first book and feel in love with him more in this conclusion.

I really enjoyed more background on the providence cards and all of the mythology and magic that this book delves into even further.

Definitely check this out I was so pleasantly surprised with this read!

I quite enjoyed this duology and this ending. It really brought all the pieces together that had been moving in the first book. I also greatly respect a creator that can take a character that is viewed as the “bad guy” and make me fall in love with and cheer them on. The magic system in this duology is different and compelling. And I really appreciated getting Elm’s POV in this book. His love story was lovely.
4.25 stars, only because the beginning was a little slow.

Thank you netgalley for the e arc
