This was another excellent chapter in the Wynchester saga. While book two continues to be my favorite for so many reasons, I’ve still had a delightful time with every other book in the series, Erica Ridley is so good at swoons romantic lines and having a great sense of adventure. This series just continues to be delightful through and through.

Gorgeous book
Thank you soooooo much netgalley, the author and the publisher for the advanced review copy if this book💗
"I voluntarily read and reviewed the book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”

Thank you NetGalley for this arc, but I’m going to have to dnf it. It isn’t a bad book by any means but I’m in a terrible reading slump and can tell this won’t be higher than a 3 stars for me, so I don’t want to force myself to finish a book that I will just find mediocre.

The Wild Wynchesters return for a fourth outing, this time focusing on Marjorie, the partially deaf, artistically talented, family forger. This novel is something of a locked room romance, as Marjorie and the hero Adrian spend most of their time locked in a room by a dastardly criminal who is using their talents to counterfeit coins. With elements of both the slow burn and the enemies to lovers trope, this story is light, low stakes, and entertaining. A nice addition to the series.

This series was not on my radar at all before I saw it in NetGalley. I was first drawn to the book because of its cover and description. When I started the novel I must say it took me a while to get into it and I think it had to do with how much description was in the book and how slow the burn was between Marjorie and Adrian. This is a sweet enemies to lovers where the MMC is misunderstood for a lot of the book because of a persona he portrays and his previous difficulties as a young adult. He is trying to redeem himself but it seems he can’t turn over a new leaf despite his many efforts to be a better man for his sister. Marjorie struggles because despite having a loving and supportive family she feels overshadowed due to her disability and self consciousness. They come together to take down Adrian’s blackmailer, Snowley, and to fight for the rights of the people this man has taken advantage of. If you like books about self discovery, mystery and adventure with a good amount of romance sprinkled in, then this is the story for you. You will, however have to get through the first 10-15 chapters that drag a bit. A very well written story with lovable characters.

I was unable to finish this book and thus will not be posting a full review. Thank you for your consideration and the opportunity

The first of the Wynchester novels was interesting and exciting. The second was new and inspiring. The next ones I've read have been less memorable. I appreciated having a book focusing on a Wynchester who has prodigious talent and a disability, but her pair seemed... underwhelming.

I am absolutely fascinated by stories with large and united families, even if the family is not by blood, but formed by people who came together out of necessity and remain stronger and united than any other.
Marjorie Wynchester is privileged to be part of such a family, and now with her siblings being happily in love, the likelihood of the family growing is high.
Each of the Wynchesters has a unique aptitude that makes them so good at what they do.
Marjorie is a born artist, very good at reproducing famous works and forgery, and it is this talent of hers that brings her to meet Lord Adrian Webb.
Adrian had already been disowned by the family. He stayed seven years away, on the Continent, without any contact, not even by letter. But now he was back. And even though his father, the Marquess of Meadowbrook, wanted nothing to do with him, and his older brother, Herbert, the perfect Earl, kept his distance, Adrian wanted to see his younger sister, Iris, with whom he was always closest.
Involved in a major forgery mess with a powerful and very dangerous man, Adrian would need "professional" help, and the Wynchesters spring into action, which means that Adrian and Marjorie are always close to each other, and the attraction becomes difficult to ignore.
Although the story brings thieves and counterfeiters as main characters, it also brings us the backstage of family conflicts, as well as the dangerous game of harming someone in favor of an image to get along. Sorrows and grudges for the lies created, and for the lack of justice in a preconceived fame. Old wounds that can catch the reader off guard, and get you thinking.
Great story.

I received a copy from NetGalley; this is my honest review
TRIGGER ALERT: threats of ruining innocent ladies, one innocent was ruined and abandoned
-How exciting to have one more book about the Wynchesters! It starts with a fun "It was a glorious morning for a robbery." A bit a romance, suspense, mystery, adventures all mixed in one fun story.
-Marjorie may be a synesthete, as she smells and tastes colors. I've heard of this before and I, too, like the artists in the book, was jealous I couldn't. I really liked how the author used all senses.
-I always love to see Jacob and his menagerie and fierce Elizabeth with her swords, ready to kill anyone in her way.
-I loved, loved, loved to hear how Marjorie and Adrian thought of each other at first sight in the museum. It's romantic and it's satisfying.
-LMAO every time Marjorie thinks she's whispering but she's not, especially at the end. I really enjoyed how Adrian got his family life after all. Blood is not thicker than water.
-There's a great list of Wynchester attributes in chapter 4.
-I never liked any of Kuni's contributions. In this case, she wants to pay someone's rent instead of finding the money they lost. Paying rent is just a bandage and doesn't give people their pride back.
-I'm a bit confused by the change of Adrian's clothing while he's not allowed to leave Snowley's premises. Why is the fact that the plump woman is "white" important?
-A bit of repeats such as that no one wrote to Adrian while he was abroad (at least 2x by 8% and then more after). That Marjorie was an orphan and despairing (at least 4x by 17%). I've never noticed before chapter 33 how poorly she thought of herself. We get the whole story about Bean, Marjorie and the locket twice in great details, not far from each other.
-There's a bit of a math problem. Adrian left at 19, came back 7 years later and last year he celebrated his 28th birthday. He should be no more than 26, not 29. Marjorie is older at almost 30.

A new adventure with the Wynchester family, this time involving Marjorie Wynchester, a partially deaf but extremely talented artist who is hunting down a counterfeit money forger only to find herself falling for the roguish scoundrel himself, Lord Adrian Webb. Marjorie has always been looked over, her siblings treating her like glass but she's had enough and when her family's latest client asks for help with a counterfeit case she knows it's the perfect job for her. She proceeds to go undercover and work for the forger... only now she's spending days locked in a room with an extremely handsome and charming but irritating artist who has his own reasons for making the forgeries.... Lord Adrian Webb has a reputation as being a scoundrel, a family disgrace and now he's found himself being forced to make counterfeit money for the man he might have tried to con... and if he doesn't his sister's life is in danger. Adrian will do anything for his family, but when trying to find a way to destroy the blackmailer who has him he only finds himself trying to also save Marjorie who has landed herself right in the middle of his own trouble. Can these two find a way to get out of this alive and take down the man responsible for the crime while dealing with their feelings for one another or were they doomed from the start? This is part of a series but you can absolutely read it as a standalone. While this had all the ingredients to be a book I would enjoy, unfortunately I didn't really have a great time. I just didn't believe the romance between Marjorie and Adrian and found the story to be a bit slogging at points. Overall its a cute historical romance with some flirting and art crime and if that's your thing, definitely give it a go maybe you'll have a better time with it than I did.
*Thanks Netgalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing), Forever for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*

This fourth installment in the Wild Wynchester series is a light hearted, rakish romance that will leave you hungry for more!
Lord Adrian Webb has spent seven years away from the streets of London after being cut off and banished by his father for being the scoundrel that he is. Hoping to make amends and reconnect with the little sister he left behind, he just has one last order of business to attend to before he turns over his new leaf: a meeting with the criminal overlord he's been selling art forgeries to in order to afford his lifestyle. However, what he doesn't count on, is being found out and forced into a counterfeit scheme that puts not only his own life in danger, but that of his sister.
Marjorie Wynchester has always been a wallflower. Though the Wynchester's are well known for their wild escapades on behalf of the less fortunate, Marjorie has always been content to leave her siblings in the lead. That is, until things begin changing a little too much for her taste. Feeling the need to prove her worth and secure her place amongst her siblings, Marjorie is the first to volunteer for their latest mission: taking down the forger responsible for the flood of false currency that is currently wreaking havoc on London's desperate.
Unsurprisingly, her investigation leads her directly to Adrian and the criminal blackmailing him into his work. As Marjorie works to take down the illegal operation from the inside out, can she resist the charms of this well known rake? But maybe, just maybe, Lord Adrian is more than what he seems.
This was an absolutely brilliant novel. This story is very high energy, full of dashing ne'er do wells and daring escapades. Part mystery, part romance, with elements of Robin Hood with a Regency flavor and flair, I was absolutely enchanted by the wild Wynchesters and their talented and diverse family of heroes. I'm sad to admit this is my first Wynchester novel and I am kicking myself for not having read the rest of the series first. I know for a fact I will be going back to read the first three books soon and very much looking forward to the next installment featuring this zany and golden-hearted family.
The romance in this book is equal parts sweet and tender as well as spicy. The slow burn will they won't they aspects were perfectly paced and the climax of their passions expertly well timed with the rest of the plot of the novel. Adrian is a devilish and scandalous anti-hero and Marjorie is kind and intelligent and brilliant and absolutely the heroine this story needed.
I cannot wait to read more from Ms. Ridley.

I’m new to this series but I liked a different Erica Ridley book and thought this seemed like a romp from the blurb and cute cover.
The heroine has synesthesia and partial deafness so that’s awesome to see representation. Adrian is immensely likable and I was invested in his backstory. The way that art tied the two together was interesting but I felt the romance was underdeveloped.
The story stands alone, but I struggled to connect with Marjorie’s eccentric crew of siblings and animals. If you’ve read the previous books they’re probably not a tough sell. With such a cutesy cover I expected a lot of humor but it was more of a slowly paced heist. I wished more time was spent with Adrian and Marjorie relationship because I was bored with the other Wynchesters and the long game.

A fun regency romp! The Winchester’s saga continues here w Marjorie’s story. It’s fun seeing Marjorie take center stage and the banter between her and Adrian is top notch!

“But you’re not ruined, are you? You’re magnificent. Perfect just as you were, and just as you are.”
-regency read, forced proximity, strangers to friends to lovers
-Adrian is caught up in a forgery scheme gone awry and Majorie is on a hunt to take down whoever is creating these counterfeits
-such a fun read and I loved their budding friendship and romance
-the Wynchester’s have such a great dynamic and were enjoyable characters
-thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for this ARC 💞
4.3⭐️

I haven't read any of the previous ones, but I have been interested in this series and art crimes are my weakness so I just jumped right in. And it was great! There are so many Wynchester siblings (and this late in a series all their romantic partners) which at times was difficult to track, but other than that I had no issues diving right in.
I found both of the main characters to be interesting (synesthesia, forgery, and hidden secrets galore), but what I really loved is that generally soft cozy feeling I was left with. It's not a specific point, but between the hedgehog and various animals, the adoring family who metes out justice, and the generally sweet love story I was just felt like I was reading the book version of a homemade 80s sweater (maybe a bit over the top, but cozy and wonderful nonetheless).
If you are looking for a sweeter historical read, I highly recommend this book (and I assume the whole series - which I will be adding to the mount TBR).

I’ve been reading a lot of historical romances and I have to say the vibes for this one was giving “White collar + Enola Holmes.” For me personally thought I think the character got together pretty quickly and I’m more of a slow burn person. For the book over all I thought it was good, I would call if my favorite. It was enjoyable and had the spice some people are looking for!

This was such a fun historical romance! It was my first by Erica Ridley, and I'll certainly be looking for her other books now! I didn't realize when I requested this that it was the fourth book in a series, but it was easy to follow despite this, so I would definitely recommend it if you want to jump into the series with this one!
I loved Marjorie and Adrian's banter, and I found that they were both very interesting characters separately, which made the romantic plot and the book overall much more interesting. The romance was relatively lighthearted, and this book was a fun, relatively quick read! I'd definitely recommend this to those who enjoy historical romances! :)

Erica Ridley is the best! I don't like the Wynchester series quite as well as some of the others--the siblings are a little co-dependent for my taste--but I love that these are historical romances that everyone can feel welcome reading, as they treat people of color, people with disabilities, and people who identify as LGBTQ as real people.
This is the story of Marjorie, the sister who is an artist, is deaf in one ear, and has synesthesia (I think?), and Adrian, a disgraced and disinherited nobleman, as they end up in the clutches of a crime lord. It's a wild ride with a sweet romance at the core.
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a temporary digital ARC and provide my honest opinions.

I always love Erica Ridley's books, and I love the Wild Wynchesters the most. A charming, witty family of orphans with unusual talents who dedicate their less-than-legal efforts to the protection of those in need. What's not to love?
This is Marjorie's book, and it was so nice to get more of an understanding of her character. She has hung back in previous books (for reasons nicely explained here) and so was the Wynchester I was least familiar with. She is not only an incredible artist and forger, she has synesthesia and has a stubborn, independent streak that has previously been well-hidden.
Adrian is a cheerful, charming forger who gets in trouble with a slimy crime boss and requires Marjorie and her family to rescue him. The banter and flirting between them was such fun, and I loved seeing two artists and creative minds working together and sparking ideas off each other. It was inspiring.
I read the entire book with a smile on my face and hated to see the story end. I don't think I could ever get tired of the Wynchesters' heists and capers and sheer chaos. This is definitely one of my favorite romance series. The story is fun and light and flows easily and the characters are well-rounded and feel like real people.
I can't wait for Elizabeth's book. I realize I've been saying that from the beginning, but it's still true. She always manages to steal the show for a bit from the sidelines for me. I'm terribly curious about Jacob's story as well. His trained animals also always steal the show a bit and inject a lot of humor into the story. How could adorable homing kittens and hedgehogs fail to charm?
I have preordered the audiobook so I can listen to the story again when I need to be cheered up. I highly recommend this series for fans of lighthearted Regency romps (one of my favorite genres).
*Thanks to NetGalley and Forever for providing an early copy for review.

This book was totally fun.
Sweet, sizzling banter between Adrian and Marjorie and just so much fun romance.
Don’t you love when you read a book and it just makes you smile and giggle? This is totally that book. It will also give you some sweet deep sighs as you enjoy the romance ❤️❤️❤️
