Gordon Ramsay's Uncharted was a deliciously intriguing, fully satisfying food affair for me. I enjoyed reading this sample immensely. I watched the show and really wanted to see how the book compared and was not disappointed. If you love Gordon, you're going to love Gordon Ramsay's Uncharted. One of my favourite things to read about is different cultures and this book does not disappoint. The recipes are brilliant and the photography quite literally out of this world. Thank you National Geographic and Netgalley for allowing me to review a sample of Gordon Ramsay's Uncharted.

I was provided a small sample portion of this book and therefore cannot provide a detailed review. Having said that if this is anything like other Gordon Ramsay books it will have a large variety of recipes for newbies to experts. It appears to cover his travels and is most likely a wonderful book altogether.

I am reviewing only a sample of the book that was provided. This is a unique book for both travel and cooking. Gordon Ramsey really details the countries he visits and goes into their culture - generally and also relating to food - as well ask including pictures and recipes along the way. The book seems very thoughtful and perfect for anyone wanting to learn about new cultures and their recipes.

I finally got Gordon Ramsay’s newest cookbook, which is based on the National Geographic show “Uncharted” he hosts. He travels around the world and gets to eat awesome food. Not a bad job 😂

It’s been year of the Gordon for me; I started the year binge rewatching classics like Kitchen Nightmares and Hotel Hell 💀

I read a lot of cookbooks every year and “judge” them chiefly based on the realistic nature of the recipes — what skill level is needed, what kind tools/ingredients beyond average, etc. Other important factors are visual appeal, clarity, variety

This cookbook’s unique factors ⤵️

🌍 Composed by a trusted brand (Gordon Ramsay) and National Geographic

🌍 Highly visual with some of the best photographers on the market

🌍 Educational in that it reflects recipes from diverse and remote locations across the world

Contents ⤵️

🍽️ 21 chapters, 60 recipes, ~400 pages. Includes behind the scenes from the show, regional backgrounds, etc.

🍽️ Places — Morocco, Laos, New Zealand, Hawaii, South Africa, Norway, Tasmania, India, Louisiana, Croatia, Iceland, Portugal, Maine, Michigan, Great Smokey Mountains, Texas, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Wales, England

🍽️ Dish Examples — Red Snapper (Laos), Poi Alanna Cotta (Hawaii), Grilled Rock Lobster (Tasmania), Chicken Andouille Gumbo (Louisiana), Black Risotto with Cuttlefish (Croatia), Mole Coloradito (Mexico)

Opinions ⤵️

🍽️ In my opinion, a lot of the recipes lean toward seafood and fish dishes which makes a lot of sense considering the locations. Some vegetarian but mostly sides. Not many desserts.

🍽️ Depending on who you are, it’s gonna be a toss up if you think these recipes are doable. If you’re like me (American south, 20s, never cooked a lobster) then it may be a completely new challenge. Range of skills and ingredients are above typical cooking *for me* and I think that’s to be expected with such a wide array of dishes represented.

🍽️ Who would like this? — fans of Gordon and the show foremost and by default 😂, globally minded foodies and aspiring chefs/cooks, people who want to try advancing their skills beyond their culinary region, and/or people who just like learning about global food cultures

What an unexpected treasure! Gordon Ramsay's Uncharted is brimming with information on roads and foods less traveled. For someone such as myself who has yet to get my passport back out after COVID this book is a treat! Yes, not every recipe is for every taste, but what an opportunity to experience secondhand how others hunt, forage, cook, and eat. Marvelous!

I would like to thank the publisher and NetGalley for this advance sample to review.

This is annoying - it's a sample, not the book. Very frustrating to only get a small part of the book to be able to review. It looks really awesome and I wish I was able to read the whole thing to give a more accurate review.

I was only given a sample of this book, so it is not possible to truly review it. Based on the preview, this book contains beautiful photos and gourmet recipes of Gordon Ramsey's culinary travels. I would have loved to have seen the full book as Tasmania and Norway are special interests of mine. If I come across this book on my library visits, I will certainly pick it up!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

It's hard to give an accurate review of this book due to having only seen a sample of it. The pictures are beautiful and learning the background of the culture the food is from is fascinating and enlightening. I am not inspired to necessarily try any of the few recipes included in the sample because it's not my taste, but based of the table of contents I will be looking for this book to try some of the other recipes.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have been provided with only a preview of this book making it impossible to give a comprehensive review. Based on the small portion I have seen the book will feature beautiful photography and flows well. I would project that the recipes are not for the culinary newbie or unadventurous eater.

The pictures were superb and it was exactly what to expect from Ramsay. Our library will be ordering for our expanding cooking section!

Lovely photos. The landscape is stunning and the shots present Ramsey in a kinder light than some of his shows where he is so harsh. As for the recipes, there wasn’t one of the samples that I felt inspired to try to recreate. Granted, there were only a few in the sample, but if those are the best of the best…the recipes may not be for the average cook (like me).

I really like the parts of this cookbook that I was able to see. I liked how it was broken down into different types of food from around the world and had the recipes included within that area. I liked seeing Ramsay with natives as well sharing authentic food with him.

The companion book to National Geographic's Uncharted series, this cookbook is so much more than a cookbook. I've watched several episodes of the television series and the book brings you the same experiences. Entertainment as only Gordon Ramsey can provide. He really enjoys what he does and it shows in his cooking and his teaching. I've tried a couple of the recipes from the book with plans for more.

Although this was only aa sample it did give me enough of a taste that I want to read more.
I like the idea of recipes as well as travel details and anecdotes.
I wish I could have read it on my Chromebook rather than my kindle or phone

I received a preview copy of this book. The photography is gorgeous with both food and scenic images. The recipes and stories are from some of the most remote places in the world. This book would look great on the coffee table as well as being a fascinating copy to include in a cookbook library. I look forward to reading more upon its release! Thank you to National Geographic Books and Net Galley for an ARC copy sample for review.

If you enjoyed the National Geographic television show and would like to make the recipes you saw, this is a good choice.
There is a small description of each locale along with the area on the world map.
Recipe ingredients are listed and directions are given.
If you were hoping for more than what was in the show, it is not here..
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me this ARC.
