"Caring about people only to lose them wasn't high on his list of priorities"
With a female lead, handsome horse trainer, family secrets, love triangle and a small town community, this story reminded me of the tv series, Heartland. If you enjoy that series, you may enjoy this newest release by Denise Hunter. It is the fourth in a series but could certainly be read as a standalone.
Even though it does have light romance elements and one character's struggle with the courage to love, I most enjoyed the family dynamics as they deal with adoption and the search for a biological parent as well as the ranch setting.
I listened to portions of the audiobook as well and it was a bit difficult to distinguish between the characters voices but the reader's voice was pleasant to listen to.

Thanks to Netgalley for the chance to read it.

Wonderful

This book was a wonderful addition to the Riverbend series. When Charlotte’s mother died, Charlotte discovered an envelope containing some information about her biological father, so she sets out to figure out who he was. With her Mom gone and responsibilities weighing heavily on her, she needs a family and people around who will support her.

Gunner comes into Riverbend to take a temporary job training horses at Charlotte’s farm. Being employee and employer they both resist an attraction but become friends. I enjoyed their slow burn romance, but I especially enjoyed all the Robinson’s and the way they welcomed Charlotte as a friend before anything else was known.

I hope there are more books to come in this series! Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Riverbend Gap Romance!!

Gunner is coming into town for an interview to be the trainer at Wildflower Falls - for six months. Charlotte is ready to expand the offerings at the stables with a new barn being built and a new trainer. With the death of her mother she has discovered a startling fact about her heritage. Charlotte’s sister Emerson has no desire to keep the stables, creating friction.

A story of horses, relationships and family at the edge of the Appalachian Trail. My first read from this author - and I really enjoyed it.

***** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *****

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 stars.

Received for review: I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: Denise Hunter is one of my favorite authors in the inspirational/Christian romantic fiction genre. She has such a great writing style and always crafts intriguing characters. I haven't read the prior three in this series, but I have read a lot of her books.

There were definitely some brilliant one-liners throughout. Gunner and Charlotte were also well crafted. This isn't my favorite Denise Hunter book, but I have a high bar because I go in with high expectations.

If you like small-town sweet romances or horses, definitely give this one a go. It's well worth the read and is an engaging story that kept my interest the whole time.

Love,

Danica Page

Charlotte Simpson never knew who her biological father was. She loved the parent she grew up with, but always was plagued by the unknown. When her mother passed, she left some clues for Charlotte that could possibly lead her to her father. But it wasn't as easy as she thought when she began to realize that friends may be more than friends. Meanwhile she's trying to get the horse farm left to her by her mother up and running including a new hand, Gunner Dawson, who becomes a lifesaver for Charlotte; but will he become more than a ranch hand?

Very enjoyable contemporary romance that focuses on two adults who are both dealing with past events that have changed their lives. The relationship between Charlotte, Gunner, and her best friends was all developed beautifully as both Charlotte and Gunner dealt with past problems and their growing relationship.

This is a heartwarming story that hooks you on the first page. It has wonderful characters, beautiful scenery and is full of emotions. I loved reading this book! It deserves more than 5 stars!

I had to smile at the opening pages as Charlotte gets "busted" doing something embarrassing ! And not just once but twice. Both Charlotte and Gunner make for good main characters who had a depth to them. There was also good world-building in the story. Which I have to give the author credit for.
What a brat Emerson, Charlotte's sister is. Selfish to the bone. Although I get that her heart really isn't in the ranch and she feels threatened by Charlotte's search for her birth father.
I have to say that although I liked this book, I just can't say that it's a favorite. It did have a good community feel to it though, was a clean read, and the ending was good. Which makes it harder to rate. So I'll leave my thoughts right there.

It's book four in the Riverbend series! I've been reading this series since the beginning and I love it. I would recommend reading this series in order. Backstory is so important with this one. But, I think it could stand alone, you just won't have as much depth of understanding with all the characters.

It was so good to be in this small town again, with this community and this family. I loved having all the characters I've come to know and enjoy around and involved in this story too. Charlotte is such a great character. She is so well rounded and hard working. She cares on a deep level and I loved her. Gunner has some heavy childhood trauma to deal with which we don't get the details about until pretty far into the story. The characters all felt authentic and real, dealing with the bumps in the road the best they can. And such a pretty setting, too.

The overall story is gentle in nature, flowing steady and sweet. I loved it.

Content: kissing. Loss of parents. Search for biological parent.

Wildflower Falls is the fourth installment in Denise Hunter’s Riverbend series. This story indirectly involves the Robinson family as it focuses on Charlotte Simpson. When Charlotte’s mother unexpectedly passes due to an aneurysm, the horse farm that had been in the Simpson family for three generations is left to Charlotte and her step-sister Emerson. However, Emerson is not of the same mind regarding the farm as Charlotte and would sell right away. But Charlotte solemnly promised her Mother that she would keep the farm in the family and is determined to do so,
Without much discussion, Charlotte uses the life insurance money to build a new barn and expand the business to include horse training, boarding, and trail rides. With this goal in mind, Charlotte hires horse whisperer Gunner Dawson, who will spend over six months at the farm until he moves on to the next job, a highly coveted position training race horses.
As this is occurring, Charlotte is also dealing with an envelope found in her mother’s safe deposit box indicating clues as to who her birth father actually was. It is a burning desire for Charlotte to uncover this information and discover family ties so she won’t feel so alone in the world. When Gunner comes upon her with the information Charlotte confesses and Gunner moves in to help. But will the answers serve to help or hinder Charlotte, Gunner, Emerson, or the ranch?
This is such a good story of family, connections, and finding an unimagined future. I very much enjoyed this book, as I have the series, and do recommend it!

I love the Robinson family and was so happy there was another book in this series. Charlotte has a lot on her plate. I really feel for her during this story for so many reasons. Gunner was such a great guy with some baggage he was carrying around. Together these two were amazing. I loved how they helped each other and how the wonderful people of Riverbend Gap supported and loved them.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through Netgalley and this is my honest review.

Denise Hunter has concluded her Riverbend Romance series with a resounding success in Wildflower Falls. I don’t think Hunter has ever delivered a disappointing book, and this latest novel is testament to her stellar storytelling ability. This romance between Charlotte and Gunner was fast-paced with complicated family dynamics, personal struggles for healing and belonging, and plenty of layers to add depth to this fantastic story. A true delight to read and genuinely heartwarming, this book contains all the elements of a sweet contemporary romance. I recommend each and every one of the books in this series!

I received this book from Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

I’ve enjoyed the Riverbend Gap series and was happy that Hunter added a fourth novel. I liked the heroine, Charlotte Simpson, so much. She was such a good person who had a ton of love in her heart. The hero, Gunner Dawson, was an interesting character who kept his heart guarded. I liked him but he was harder to warm up to. He was marked by tragedy, and seeing his heart change was one of the nicest parts of the story. And, as a bonus, I was able to catch up with the Robinson clan. There is a fantastic redemption thread that offers a nice conclusion to the series. Hunter delivers again with Wildflower Falls. I appreciate receiving an advance copy from Thomas Nelson and did purchase the paperback for my Denise Hunter Collection.

Wildflower Falls is the fourth book in the Riverbend series. While there will definitely be some spoilers from previous books and you might have a better understanding of the Robinson siblings if you've read those first, I do think this one would be able to be read as a standalone as well. That said, this is a great series and one I would absolutely recommend reading in it's entirety anyway!

The thing that I have loved most about this series is that they show us that love stories can be both messy AND beautiful. These stories tend to start in unusual and even painful ways... and yet, amidst that we are given beautiful love stories. Wildflower Falls was no exception. Right from the first pages, I was drawn into their story. (Seriously, this opening was just absolutely fantastic... and I loved it!) Both Charlotte and Gunner were beautifully written characters who had so many layers and challenges to work through and I loved getting to watch them work through it all. The chemistry between them was absolutely fantastic... and my goodness, that first kiss!? So good! I really just adored these two together. Throw in some family drama and elements of faith and this was a beautifully written story that I absolutely couldn't get enough of!

If you enjoy Christian romance, this book and series are not to be missed! I've not read a Denise Hunter book that I haven't enjoyed, but this series is definitely my very favorite from her!

**I received a complimentary copy for consideration. All opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this conclusion to Denise Hunter’s Riverbend Gap series! Wildflower Falls is a good blend of family drama, romance, and self-discovery. Although I would have preferred more emphasis on the romantic elements of the book, as in other novels by Hunter, I really enjoyed getting to see more of the Robinsons and meeting Charlotte and Gunner. 4/5 stars

Charlotte and her sister Emily inherit the family ranch. Charlotte has always loved the ranch, while Emily is more self-centered and spoiled.
Charlotte's mom has passed away. Charlotte never knew who her birth father was. Her mom eventually married a man who came with his young daughter, Emily, and treated Charlotte as his own.
Now, that her mother has passed away, Charlotte would like to know who her birth father is/was. Her mom left papers for her with some pictures. Charlotte was able to quickly surmise who her biological brothers are. How should she go about this? One has a construction business and she hires him to build her new barn.
She, also hires Gunner as her horse trainer. Somehow, she has him involved in her search for her biological father. She discovers the man she though was him is not.
A rather emotional story of Charlotte's quest to find him and what she discovers and the emotions that are uncovered once she does.
I was given an advanced ecopy by the publisher, Thomas Nelson through Netgalley. I was under no obligation to leave a positive review. All thoughts are my very own.

Charlotte Simpson is searching for her father while also trying to save her family’s ranch. Haunted by his past, Gunner Dawson is just passing through—a temporary horse trainer determined to stay on the move. But the healing power of love and forgiveness has a way of changing everything.

Once again, Denise Hunter delivers a novel that tugs the reader from heartbreak to a heartwarming, Hallmark-worthy happily ever after. Though part of a series, it reads beautifully as a stand-alone novel. For a sweet escape, I highly recommend Wildflower Falls!

When Charlotte's mother passes away, she and her sister, Emma, inherit the ranch. Charlotte discovered in the safe deposit box an envelope with her name on it. There are newspaper clippings, and pictures, so Charlotte has to figure out who her biological father is. She figures out her siblings, but then she realizes that the boy's father is really their stepfather.
She hires her brother to build the barn she needed to expand the ranch. He didn't know she was his sister. She needed to find out who her biological father was.
She hired Gunner to help her with the horses. He had his own demons so he moved around a lot.
Charlotte has her hands full with all she is trying to accomplish. She is focused on what she wants, and doesn't see how it could affect the people she has come to love. But, she has to follow through with all that she has started.
When the day comes that what she started is coming toward completion, we see what happens. The book is a story, that unfolds as we read, and it will keep you reading.
I received an ARC from Thomas Nelson through NetGalley.

Footloose and fancy free rides into town and accepts a job from a rancher seeking to save the ranch she inherited from her mother. At the same time, she struggles with a half sister partner who’d rather be elsewhere, and with locating a biological father and approaching two half brothers unaware of her existence. She tries to take the safe route by dating the vet rather than the peripatetic wanderer she desires. He tries to split due to childhood trauma that binds him with overwhelming fear of attachments. In the end, they choose one another.

Readers who have enjoyed the Riverbend series will love this fourth book in the series. Charlotte is looking for her birth father after finding paperwork left by her late mother. Charlotte is such compassionate person, wanting to do the right thing and not hurt anyone. But things don't always go as easily as wanted. I loved the Robinson family, the type of family everyone would love to be a part of. Emerson was not a favorite but it would be interesting to see her grow in another book. I loved Gunner and his patience with the horses. Good, solid, contemporary story!
