Thank you to NetGalley and Liz Alden for an advanced electronic copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I've read a bunch of Liz Alden's books now, and they're pretty much guaranteed to be a good time with a happy ending.

Tessa is 42, newly single, and moving to Portugal for a year to shake things up. Her friends are also moving to different European countries, and they have plans to meet up once a month. For their first meeting, everyone else's flights are delayed, and Tessa is left alone in Paris with their cute tour guide, Luc. When they run into Tessa's ex with his new fiancé, Tessa and Luc pretend to be engaged too. Except... how much of these feelings are pretending?

Tessa and Luc are fun. Yes it's a bit of a predictable romance but it works and it feels good! And with novella length, this is the perfect book to cleanse any dark stuff you're reading from your brain. There's no reason not to!

CW: sexual content

What another fun read from Liz! I love that I can explore the world while reading her books. They make me feel like I am sitting in cafe in Paris or dancing in a night club right alongside her characters.

This was a super quick, sweet love story between Tessa and Luc. And an amazing group of friends! I loved all the text conversations and adventures that were up to.

I was so proud of Tessa, when she stood up for herself at the club.. And that she took the jump to be with Luc. She definitely deserves it.

Luc was such a flirt and knew the write things to say, especially when speaking with James. And Anouk, his grandmother was such a sweet side character that we got to know to better.

Tessa is in Paris for the weekend to meet with her three best friends before they all move to different parts of Europe for a year. But unfortunately, the other three have had a change of plans, and are arriving a day late. That leaves Tessa all alone on the day tour with their private guide Luc. He’s a decade younger than Tessa, but the electricity between the two seems to sizzle from the moment they meet.

This novella kicks off a new series from Liz Alden, and it’s a gorgeous start. I loved the Parisian setting, that moves behind the schemes of some well known spots, and into intimate moments between Tessa and Luc with ease. Her friends become his friends, linking up on social media and supporting Luc when he wants to pursue a relationship with Tessa. Can’t wait to read the rest of the stories in this series! ♥️

Thank you to Liz Alden for an ARC of this story in exchange for my honest opinion.

At 42 Tessa feels like she is just destined to stay single and alone for life, and she’s okay with that. She heads off to Paris for a weekend with her girlfriends. When their flights are delayed Tessa ends up alone on a scheduled tour with their guide Luc. Sparks fly between the two of them, and when they run into Tessa’s ex, Luc acts as her new fiancé to make her ex jealous. Will this fake engagement turn into something more or will it fizzle out when it’s time for her to leave Paris?

I enjoyed this story, it just wasn’t one of my favorites by Liz. It’s short, sweet, and there is a HEA!

A big thank you to Liz Alden, Victory Editing, and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for my honest opinion. Rose with My Fake Fiancé comes out April 25, 2023.

Tessa thought she would be married long before she reached the age of forty-two. After a failed relationship and the realization that nothing is holding her in the states she decides with her group of friends to move to Europe. Before they settle into their new cities they decide to meet for a weekend in Paris to kick off their big moves. Too bad they all scheduled their flights a day after Tessa on accident, so now she is alone in Paris about to cancel a guided tour of the city. That is until the tour guide ends up being the 30 something, handsome, and charismatic Luc. They both end up spending a wonderful day together, only interrupted by Tessa's ex and his new....fiancé. Soon they are faking a relationship, but what they aren't able to fake is the undeniable connection they feel for one another. Too bad Tessa is only in Paris for the weekend...what happens when the fleeting fling feels like it should be the start of forever.

Rose with My fake Fiancé is an extended novella, so it is a super quick and fun read. It is full of humor, heart and romance. Tessa and Luc are both very likable characters that both go through emotional and personal growth during the shirt read. I loved Tessa's friends and am really excited for their future stories. The writing is quick-paced and well throughout. If you are looking for a short, spicey and fun read Rose with My Fiancé is the book for you.

Liz Alden has done it again folks!!! I was so excited when I found out I got an arc for this book; and I immediately jumped into it. This a very cute age gap romance that had me blushing and being a silly little school girl on every page. I love how there was insta chemistry between Luc and Tessa. The chemistry was so natural it made it feel so real. The fake fiancé revenge plot was something I've never seen before but for a novella/short story it was soo good. I loved how at times you wanted to shake the book... [in my case my Kindle] because you wanted the main characters to actually look at each other and see whatever one else saw. I loved the ending so much. It wrapped up everything so well. I will read this over and over again.
Thank you for this once in a life time chance

Thank you so much NetGalley and the lovely author, Liz Alden, for providing me with an ARC of this novel.

I must start by saying that this book gave me the best vibes by the cover alone, when I first laid my eyes on it I knew it would be the kind of story I would enjoy.
This was such a sweet, charming and also spicy read with a bit of drama and gossip.
Everything about this novel made me more eager to keep reading just to see what happened on the next few pages from the romance plot to Tessa’s friends. The chemistry between the protagonists, Tessa and Luc, was unmatched and they made me enjoy every single encounter and moment they had throughout the entire book.
In conclusion, I think that if you want an easy and entertaining read this is the book for you!

This was such a sweet, lovely, spicy little novella! I love these stories that tell us there's no specific time of life, or way to look, or size, or WHATEVR to have the best most wonderful kind of love! Tessa & Luc & their wonderful friends give that message so beautifully. I love a good revenge plot, and the revenge against Tessa’s ex is sooo satisfying. And the setting of Paris is amazing, I love that it focused on less touristy things and really painted a picture of the beautiful city of lights :)
Overall very cute, quick read to make you swoon ❤️
Thank you for the ARC!!!!!

Firstly, the cover is so stinking cute!!!!
But more importantly, I loved the story! Not just the romance but the friendships. I’ve enjoyed both of Liz’ books that I’ve read so I’ll definitely be getting more!

Do you ever read a book and wonder if you even know your own tastes? Because if you asked me my favourite tropes, I would never say age gap or fake dating, I’d tell you forced proximity and enemies-to-lovers. Yet these two main characters live in different countries and he’s obsessed with her (and maybe a little vice versa, but he admits it more openly), and I loved every single thing about this book.

This book had the perfect mix of romance, steam, and friendship. I love when there’s a family aspect in a book, like Luc and his grandmother, but also the found-family that can be shown with incredible friendships. Plus meeting Tessa’s friends, knowing they’re getting their own stories and some of those stories will include a more ‘traditional’ marriage and kids version of family, has me so excited to pick up every book in this series as it comes out.

I’ve read a handful of Liz Alden’s books before, and I knew there wouldn’t be a single moment of disappointment when it came to the steam. This was so hot. While I appreciated Luc’s absolute adoration of Tessa as a person, the pure desire that he looked at her with and the way her appreciated every inch of her body even before things got steamy was so, so good. I loved that Tessa was not only older than many female main characters often tend to be in contemporary romance novels, but she also had a pear shaped body, which I feel like isn’t shown often in other books. But the way she was written in this book, and her confidence about who she is and how she looks, in this book, was perfect to me. And certainly to Luc, which he made sure she knew.

Despite the rather short length, the pacing always felt right, and the dual POV worked so well for this story. Obviously because of my love for it, I wouldn’t complain about it being longer, but that’s just me being selfish. I would definitely reread and recommend it, and I cannot wait for the rest of the series.

Thank you to Liz Alden & NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review an advanced copy of this book! I voluntarily read this book, and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
