A well written action packed adventure follows Cerdic, an unlikely hero cast into the eye of the storm of the year 1066.

The battles are brutal, the characters very believable and Cerdic's turmoil as he deals with all that's thrown at him is a thrilling read.

Cedric is undoubtedly an interesting and unlikely hero in this novel set in 1066.It paints a picture of the horror of war, uncertainty, despair, hope and survival. Well written, atmospheric and detailed I will no doubt be reading the next one in this series.
