oh what a beautiful story and book! Sally Clarkson is a wonderful writer and narrator. I loved hearing of her family life and spiritual life in discipling women. I also enjoyed reading about the different types of tea. Highly recommend!

This woman just knows how to touch the depth of my soul, make me feel seen and known, and speak to the longings I can’t put words to. I don’t know if there is a better review I could give.

Ms Clarkson, your voice and narration is as soothing as your words and your mentorship.

I loved not only that she spoke of discipleship and friendship and relationship, but also gave tea and teatime recipes along with the idea of a tea trolley—which I am absolutely going to steal…but for coffee.

Could not recommend Ms Clarkson’s books more.

Thank you, NetGalley, for an audio-ARC of Teatime Discipleship by Sally Clarkson.
This is a simple book with a strong message. Clarkson shares how she has used invitations for tea to build friendships and foster discipleship. She shares personal stories as well as recipes. Narrated in her own voice, Clarkson's gentle tone makes the listener relaxed and inspired.

This audiobook was very enjoyable to listen to but as someone who is spiritual but not religious, it was simply not for me. I do think it will resonate with many readers who may take more comfort from the text than I.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC I exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this audiobook, and loved that it was read by Sally. Her voice alone is just so soothing and makes you come away feeling refreshed. The context of this book, though! It’s another treasure from Sally. There is a lack of books of Christian/Biblical hospitality, and this book speaks to that topic beautifully. There are tons of good nuggets to take away from this gem and implement into daily life. I really appreciate Christian women teaching other women how to be Christian women. I recommend this book to every woman who is looking for recommendations on Christian living, Bible hospitality, or just new recipes!

Thank you so much to NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook!

In Teatime Discipleship, Sally Clarkson invites the reader into her home sharing wisdom, stories, recipes for bakes goods and special tea drinks, scripture, as well as her love for God, her family, and others. Her encouragement to develop good life rhythms, spend time with the Lord, take time for self-care, be present with those around you, and accept life’s imperfections while living intentionally in disciplining others was inspiring and sparked ideas of how to incorporate these habits in my own life. Her warmth and transparency radiated through the pages and made me feel as though I was sitting down for a chat with an old friend. I listened to the audiobook of this work, but I plan to buy a physical copy in order to see the lovely pictures and make some of the recipes. hope you find a comfy chair, make a good cup of tea or coffee in a beautiful cup, prop your feet up, open this book and savor each chapter. You’ll be glad you did.

A delightful listen. Narrated by the author herself, this is a lovely book in message and text. I loved the gentle encouragement to pause for a cup of tea with a friend. Such simplicity that has the power to reap rich rewards in friendship and in the spiritual realms. This is a needed message and is complete with basic information on tea and recipes. Enjoy!

I enjoyed hearing the author read her book in this audiobook format. She was clear & consise and easy to understand.

Sally definitely embodies the Titus 2 woman and encourages Wives & Mothers. She encourages hospitality, not perfection. Hospitality doesn't have to be elaborate.

Thank you to Netgalley & the Publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Sally Clarkson has written a wonderful new book entitled "Teatime Discipleship - Sharing Faith One Cup at a Time." The author reads the audio version of the book in a soothing voice making the experience so relaxing, so inspiring. So much so, I purchased the hardcopy version of the book to enjoy the beautiful pictures and recipes. The book is divided into sections: devotional, scripture, short practice suggestions, and recipes. The devotions are shared stories from the authors life offering insight to a faith well lived. I agree with the author's comment about celebrating the life the Lord has given us. And this book provides ways of celebrating that life with a cup of tea.

I enjoyed this audiobook. I liked that it centered around a quiet moment like tea time and you can commune with God and share him with those you love.
I liked that the author included recipes here and there for tea, scones, and the like, as well as sharing bible verses and discipleship. I didn't like that each chapter was of varying lengths. This made it difficult to fit in the right time for listening in the morning.

I've read quite a bit by Sally Clarkson, and a lot of it is very convicting. This book felt more like a warm cup of tea, encouraging and heart warming. This is a coffee table book, one that looks pretty and makes you want to pick it up and savor a little bit at a time.

This was such a beautiful book full of faith and beauty! I loved how Sally pointed me to Christ and gave tips on being hospitable. It wasn’t about perfect entertaining, but loving people. It really warmed my heart and I loved the recipes. I am so thankful for the recipes shared too! I listened to the audio book and it was lovely to hear Sally’s voice.

I can't sing enough praises about this book! Though I only had access to the audio version (through NetGalley) I already know I am going to love having a hard copy version of this book as soon as I am able to! Sally is so wise and exudes love and empathy for all mothers in everything she writes and this book is no different! As a mother who has already been through the trenches, her advice, wisdom and stories for her years of parenting are so refreshing. And the audiobook is like sitting down and having tea with Sally herself! This book is exactly what every busy mama needs when searching for a breath of fresh air and rest for her weary soul! Sally is so intentional about pointing others to Christ who sustained her through her parenting years and I loved how she weaves scripture and circles back to the Gospel repeatedly though the book. If you don't have a mentor in your life, Sally makes a great one through her books and podcasts and I highly recommend this book for any young mother looking for Biblical guidance and wisdom.
*I received a free audiobook version of this book through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review

This book is a hodgpodge of Sally Clarkson’s reflections on relationships and hospitality, her favorite recipes, teatime instructions and the basics of being a disciple of Jesus. It was not what I expected, but it was short and sweet. I am sad that I missed out on the yummy sounding recipes by listening to the audio book. :)

Thank you to Net Galley and Dreamscape Media for this ARC.

This was so great. Very edifying, with lots of recipes and ideas on how to be a more godly woman so we can help those around us. The audio book is very well done, and her voice is very soothing and comforting. I felt like I was having a cup of tea with Sally herself as she told me all about her experiences with teatime discipleship. Lovely!

Teatime Discipleship audiobook is a delightful book that gives practical advice on how to reach others for Christ through one on one or small group get togethers. I enjoyed Sally’s calm and serene voice reading her book. I will use several ideas even if I don’t drink tea as a regular practice.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook for my honest opinion.

Thank you Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the advanced electronic audio review copy of this book. This quick read/listen (I listened to an audiobook version) combines food, Christian spirituality, hospitality, and personal stories. It is a great addition for anyone who loves a good friend, a nice cup of tea, and a nice conversation.

This was a nice short listen! Only 3.5 hours run time and within that each chapter was less than ten minutes long. And Sally’s narrating voice is so sweet, calming, & inviting. Plus I always enjoy an audiobook more when it’s read by the author.
That being said, I think the nature of this book makes it more successful in print form - in audio you miss out on the experience of all the photos and recipes.

This book would make for a beautiful coffee table book or addition to your shelf of recipe books. It would also be a lovely gift - think wedding showers or Mother’s Day!

In a way, Sally’s approach can seem to speak of customs and patterns of hosting that more fit a time gone by, but I found her principles of warmth and beauty and hospitality applicable to any society or season. I valued her admonition & practical tips to implement hospitality & the love of Jesus to others in any season of life the reader may be in. I deeply connect to her value of making home a haven for all who enter, both family and guests.

A favorite quote:
Cultivating a life filled with beautiful rhythms, life-giving rituals, and attitudes of gratefulness shapes our hearts and minds amid the storms. Our agency to believe in God’s goodness and faithfulness will make every day meaningful, every day a gift, as we wait with hope.”

Thank you to DreamscapeMedia and NetGalley for the complimentary ebook in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Sally Clarkson is the Ina Garten of the women's Bible book world: "if you don't have beautiful, perfectly mismatched thrifted china for your tea times, a store bought mug is fine." No, that's not a compliment.

I had previously read her book The Life Giving Table and found her voice pretentious and self centered. Because this one seemed more devotional and contains recipes, I expected I could benefit from it, but alas, no.

First, I wish her books were more clear about the targeted audience. As a mom of 3 littles, her books are guilt inducing and downright confusing. You want me to bake homemade scones and have tea with real china and a candle with my 4 yr old boy? I don't think so. But Clarkson really does push the atmospheric elements of her hospitality doctrine, like fellowship is subpar with mood lighting. Her books seem ideal for older women who are aunts, grandmas, or moms of preteens and older.

Second, she goes on and on about how many years ago she wanted to start a Bible study, so she stopped fretting over the details, and just did it. Then, it grew so fast and there are now over 200 women! She makes no mention of personal gifts, no mention of women prayerfully seeing where her local church needs her particular gifts applied--Clarkson essentially says go for it and you'll succeed! Now, I don't really think she means that. But that's what comes in between the lines. As a wife of a church leader, I can tell you that it's usually more of a problem than a blessing when church members think they can do anything they want in the church and start groups without checking in with anyone or asking for support and feedback if that's even their particular gifting.

I don't think she should be writing books. The main point of this book is vague and even altogether, it's not particularly helpful for any one of the chapter topics. It's like a collection of blog posts with recipes. I can think of 10 other books on hospitality and women serving in the church that I would recommend before this one.

Thanks to netgalley and Dreamscape Media for an audiobook to listen and review voluntarily.
