An exciting beginning to this new series! Detective Brianna “Bri” Tucker has mostly recovered from her accident during her years as a hotshot and smoke jumper. Working as a fire investigator, she is assigned the recent death of retired fire investigator Les Kavanaugh. Les had tried to contact Bri, had left a note for her and she found evidence outside his home. She is working with Marc Davis, an ATF Special Agent who has been assigned to the area. As they work together, there is an attraction between them, but she was once hurt by a coworker and Marc is caring for his ailing grandmother. If she can decipher the cryptic message from Les along with a call from the father of a fire victim, she might have another thread to pull. Bri seems to be having a string of bad luck, her car tires, her garage door opener, but when shots are fired, it appears that someone is stalking Bri, but who and why? Thrilling suspense and danger as Bree and Marc try to fit the pieces to this deadly puzzle. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

Page one immediately grabbed my attention. The book starts off with the point of view from the killer. The killer remains anonymous throughout the book while still giving clues. It’s not until closer to the end that the killer is revealed in an unexpected way. The author did a nice job of keeping the killer’s identity and motive a mystery. I liked both Bri and Marc. We get their points of view throughout the investigation. Aside from being likable characters I found them genuine and well developed. The chemistry between the two was apparent from their first meeting but the relationship develops over the course of their investigation. The puzzle pieces were really well played and the plot line was intricate without being overly complex. The story took a a surprising turn once the killer is revealed to the reader but not yet to Bri and Marc. The secondary characters made for a good supporting cast while the suspense builds. A climatic action scene brings us to the final showdown with a satisfying conclusion. The epilogue had me cheering inside and I can say I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Suspenseful, thrilling, mysterious, and with a sweet romance this book is worth the read.

Into the Fire Undaunted Courage is the first in the brand-new series by Irene Hannon. ATF Special Agent Marc Davis and arson investigator Bri Tucker team up to investigate a seemingly accidental house fire that killed a retiree. Some of the information does not add up making this a suspicious fire. Having read the prologue the reader knows this is murder and it is not the first for this killer. Early on I was able to guess the guilty part bit the danger increasing making this an unput-downable story to see if I was right. Some twisty surprises are also along the way that were not expected.

This thriller has two marvelous main characters. I loved Marc’s Nan, her faith in God and how she has influenced Marc in his relationship with the Lord. This is an adrenaline pumping story that is also faith-based. A perfect balance between the suspense, romance and the need for the characters to rely on the Lord.

The publisher through Net Galley provided a complimentary digital copy. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, my personal opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

“Arson investigators weren’t supposed to die in fires” (location 175). From the start Bri finds the case suspicious and has a hard time letting go even when the evidence suggests an accidental fire. That tenaciousness could lead her into more trouble. This book is a great start to a new Hannon suspense series.

Hannon is the only author I know who writes in two different genres equally well. What is the same though is the depth of her characters. I like books with close family ties or friend groups. I found Bri’s brother Jack’s antics amusing and endearing. I hope the next book is about him.

It was interesting seeing the case come together. I enjoyed the action and the suspense. It was a great read. Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

A fabulous romantic mystery/thriller, and a great start to a new series.

I've heard about the wonder of Irene Hannon in every online Christian fiction readers group I'm in, but I've never read any of her books.

Until now.

What a fabulous book! "Into the Fire" had me gripped from the first pages and, I'll be honest, creeped out by the Prologue, ha ha! Ms Hannon has a remarkable way of tapping into the psyche of a psycho. 😉

I loved Bri, especially with her rough edges and tough demeanour. She was a woman with a painful past, and I appreciated her imperfections. Same with Marc. He was such a professional, but the more I got to know him, the more I wanted to ruffle his hair and loosen a few buttons. 🤣

I tend to read fiction which focuses more on the woman or the romance, but I enjoyed this fire-themed thrilling story with all its mystery and suspense. The case facts fascinated me, and I was invested in this story... and totally whacked over the head when the identity of "the bad dude" was revealed. I did NOT expect that!

I'm excited at the prospect of Jack's book coming out next year (he's going to be a fabulous character to mess with!), and will cry into my pillow until its release. 😉

Thanks, Ms Hannon, for hooking this women's fiction/romance reader with a different sort of story. I think you might've expanded my reading horizons.

NB I received an ARC of this novel. Thanks, NetGalley and Revell!

Complex and fast moving with a bit different plot around arson investigation. Multiple subplots around the characters weave together with a very slow burn (no real heat) that keeps the story interesting. A strong focus on family, love, and faith.

What an amazing ride! This book is the start of an exciting new series that follows the Tucker siblings. This book follows Bri Tucker, a fire investigator. New to the job in St. Louis, she ends up assigned to the case of a retired fire investigator who died in a house fire. Though there are suspicious findings, she can't find any actual leads, even with the help of ATF agent Marc Davis. When things begin happening to her, she finds that she must keep her wits and find the killer before she becomes the next victim.

The suspense element in this book was excellent. Though I figured out the villain pretty early on, that did not detract from the story line at all. The story line was intriguing and kept me turning pages. Even though the villain was confirmed about 2/3 of the way through, the story didn't stop there and was thrilling to the very end. Though I tend to not much care for the romance element of romantic suspense novels, this one was one I thoroughly enjoyed as the communication was on point and they were so no-nonsense about it. Fans of the romance element may not enjoy these not-so-swoony parts, but I absolutely adored the relationship between Bri and Marc, and admired how it developed. The faith thread in this one was solid as well and themes of forgiveness were prevalent throughout. This book had the perfect blend of romance and suspense and character development. All in all, this was a fantastic book and one I'd heartily recommend to fans of romantic suspense. Special thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance e-copy of this novel. I was under no obligation to provide a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.

I really enjoyed this one! There was just enough action to keep me turning pages and trying to solve the crimes alongside Bri and Marc kept me invested in the story! The arsonist was clever and barely detectable which made for some very through investigating. I really like getting a few chapters from the killer’s POV to get a little insight into how they are thinking. In typical Irene Hannon fashion there were some unexpected twists and the conclusion was nail bitingly tense!

I love romantic suspense and I really enjoy this author. In this latest book, she does not disappoint. The characters are genuine and good people. The suspense kept me interested right through to the end. This is not a book you can just pick up and expect to put it down again an hour later and then wait until another day to pick it up again. Don't pick it up the first time until you have a solid block of time to commit.

I'm looking forward to the next book in this series!

Former smokejumper turned arson investigator Bri Tucker knows a thing or two about fire. The question becomes whether she can learn to trust ATF Special Agent Marc Davis enough to figure out if the current run of apparently accidental fires that are killing people in town are actually arson. As Bri's life is plagued with a series of unfortunate accidents, it adds to the puzzle of what is happening.

Bri and March were fun characters to get to know. With several puzzles happening at the same time, I was left wondering what the ending would be until it was finally revealed.

Persevere. That is what fire investigator, Bri, has to do in order to solve this string of arsons. Are the set on purpose or are the accidents? She just isn't quite sure. Things just don't see quite right. Definitely another page turning mystery by Irene Hannon!

Irene is my favorite author of romantic suspense! She delivered exactly as I’ve come to expect: spine-tingling sparks and hair-raising thrills in her newest series. I guessed the who pretty quickly, but not the why. Clear your reading schedule: INTO THE FIRE is a page-turner you don’t want to miss!

Retired arson investigator Les shouldn't have died in a fire. With the same tenacity of Les, arson investigator Bri plans to determine whether the fire was an accident or arson, especially since Les wanted to see her. Bri's intuition says it was arson, but there is no evidence. ATF agent Marc has been called to assist Bri, but there doesn't seem to be much to go on. Les left Bri a note with a cryptic clue. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. Even though I quickly figured out who the murderer is, I wanted to see how Bri and Marc solved the case. I also liked the close connection between Bri and her siblings and also Marc with his grandmother. I love that both Bri and Marc are intrigued by each other from the beginning. I also love that the story is told from multiple points of view. This is a wonderful start to a suspenseful Christian series.

I could not put this book down. There were so many twists and turns that I was so surprised when the villain was revealed. There were parts of the story that I struggled with, but this was a really good read. I can not wait for the next installment.

Into the Fire is a very well written romantic suspense. Very good plot and character dynamics. I recommend this book.

I always enjoy Irene Hannon's books, but especially her romantic suspense, and this is another great edgy, suspenseful story with mystery, danger, romance, and a touch of faith. Into the Fire is the first of a new series about three siblings related by adoption, Bri, Jack, and Cara Tucker. They call themselves the Three Musketeers, since their parents are gone. Bri is a former smokejumper now working as a fire investigator with the county in St. Louis. She is investigating a set of cases that appear to be related, including the death of a retired investigator who was to meet with Bri right before he was killed in a suspicious fire. ATF Agent Marc Davis has been assigned to work with Bri. The two are attracted to each other in spite of both not wanting to get involved. In typical Irene Hannon fashion, this is a hard to put down story that I was pulled into right away and engaged to the end. The killer, who was a surprise to me, is revealed fairly early but then the danger is amped up. This is another great read by the author, and I am excited about this new series. Looking forward to Jack's story next.

I was sitting on the edge of my chair as I finished this book. A brand new series by Irene Hannon was just what I needed this week. I knew I was going to enjoy this one right away.

Bri, an arson investigator, was called in to investigate a mysterious fire that resulted in the death of a former co-worker. Marcus was an ATF Agent who was also assigned to the case. Was this meeting by chance or was it GOD'S plan?

I loved the relationships they both had with their families. Marcus was raised by his wise and loving grandmother. I would love to have a relationship like that when my grandchildren get older. Bri had a very close connection to her siblings. They had each other's back.

Bri was determined to solve the case. With Marcus' help they were getting closer to getting the answers they needed. But Bri and Marcus were starting to feel the heat.

Another great suspense novel from Irene Hannon! Bri, former smokejumper, and Marc, ATF agent, team up to crack the code that their now-deceased colleague left in order to figure out how a series of fires connect to one another. Bri's history is revealed throughout and the romance is just right between her and Marc. Recommended.

This first book in a new series by Irene Hannon is a heart-pumping, edge-of-your seat read from the first page to the satisfying conclusion. Bri Tucker is a former smoke jumper turned fire investigator and when one of her former colleagues is killed in a fire, Bri takes on the responsibility of investigating his death as well as others that he was investigating when he died. Assisted by swoonworthy hero and ATF agent Marc Davis, Bri can’t seem to avoid danger. In fact, she seems perfectly content confronting it, much to the consternation of Marc and her siblings Jack and Cara. All of the characters were realistically portrayed and relatable, but none more so than the vulnerable Bri who was hurt in the past and not looking for more pain in her present. The plot moves along at a fast and fiery pace, with head-spinning twists and riveting revelations along the way. There are red herrings and false trails galore, plenty to keep the mystery buff in me totally happy and reading long into the night. I loved the action and suspense, but I was completely enamored with the characters and their willingness to face danger in order to pursue truth and justice. This book is addictive and held me spellbound, so I’m already anticipating the second book in the series! Irene Hannon is a master storyteller who expertly crafted this tale that I would categorize as high-octane thriller and sparkling romance, too.
