'Unbossly Manner' by Brooke Stanton is a rom-com like no other. After Peyton experiences a bad sexual situation, she is in need of a place to stay. Jackson has just returned to the office, to meet his now Ex-wife, Kat. While Peyton explains what happens, Kat has an idea. That Jackson teachers Peyton how to do Sex. This is obviously not the most normal thing, but we learn the relationship between Jackson and Peyton, therefore Kat and Jackson. Its messy, and something that seems obvious to us as readers throughout how we want the story to end. It is an amazing book that discusses the different needs of others and how love works.

This book was a great read. I cried multiple times because I think everyone has experienced somewhat Peyton and Jackson deal with throughout the story. I was so angry at Jackson until he opened up. I didn't enjoy that Kat and Jackson kid, Evie was parentified. Also, Kat being a therapist shouldn't be such a talking point. She was emotionally abusive and didn't like how everyone protected her. Besides that, I love character-building.

This is a great read, but be aware of current things before reading:
- It's messy but ow/om is mentioned, but they aren't in a committed relationship so IDK
- It's abusive, the mental games that are played by Kat are strong. Her actions would be considered abusive. Especially with her therapist background, she knows what she's doing.
- It's toxic as f (they do develop though)
-Workplace issues, ie relationship with higher-ups mentioned (other characters)
-Drugging (there is a kiss but nothing else happens during that time)

Other things:
-About a two and a half out of five on the spicy scale, its HOT tho
-Enjoyable but be prepare for a random cry

I loved this book, and I would like to thank Brooke and Netgalley for this opportunity.

Unbossly Manners is a book about consent, respect, and being your true self in and out of the bedroom.
I think I approached this book in the wrong way. As soon as I started reading this book, I started romanticizing its story and I think this is the reason why I did not completely enjoyed it at first. I honestly only started liking it once I took off my heart shaped glasses and I understood that yes - the story was about love, but it was a pretty raw, honest, and crude kind of love.
This was a book that made me think... a lot. I can only guess how difficult must have been for the author to write such a story and I totally respect the thoughtful way in which she dealt with such important topics such as harassment, slut-shaming, consent, and sexual freedom. So, even if I still have mixed feelings about this book, I'm definitely gonna recommend it.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

DNF at 60%

I wanted to like this book. I really did. But what happens when you have an MC who still has feelings for his ex-wife, a handful of weird spicy scenes, and a forced no strings attached trope? Well... you get this book. Look, I get that there are many books where the male lead is hung up on his ex, which then eventually leads to him having feelings for the female lead, but I was more than halfway through this book, and this dude still was hung up on the ex.

The fact that Peyton had feelings for him, despite this fact, and I know from other reviews I've read that he doesn't lose those feelings until 80-90%, but all of this just pushed me into ditching this book. The first chapter pulls you right in, which is what drew me to read this book. There are some red flags that didn't sit well with me at first (i.e. Peyton having sex with women just to see if the reason why she never enjoyed sex was that she was possibly gay), but I made the most unfortunate mistake of still continuing despite the flags waving in my face. Never again!

Look, this book has great potential. I'm a sucker for office romance and a hot/cold MC, but there comes a point where it becomes so annoying (especially when they don't improve after the 50% mark) that you have no choice but to call it quits.

Let me start by saying the the plot was very original and had lots of potential. I am also a sucker for a workplace romance, and a relationship based on a deal/arrangement. Peyton (the FMC) was super relatable, I mean who doesn't get nervous about their sexual experience.

However, this book was very awkward and cringey. It was slow, yet fast in the weirdest way. There are also moments where the dialogue doesn't flow right. The fact that Jackson (the MMC) was in love with his ex-wife for 90% of the book, but then was in love with Peyton for the last little bit. The fact that his ex-wife pawns him out to Peyton gives me the ick. Especially when she ends up still wanting him. It was a weird story. Not a fan.

One main concern that I have with this book, is the fact that Jackson makes out with Peyton when she was drugged. She has no recollection of the events and he isn't up front and honest with her about it. Not a great way to start a relationship. Especially when he was saying how trust is a big part of a sexually relationship.

Thank you NetGalley, Coco&Bee, and Brooke Stanton for this ARC copy of Unbossly Manners in exchange for my honest opinion and review!

I LOVE the fake dating trope, and although this wasn't QUITE exactly the trope... it was giving all that energy throughout the book! A deal made between co-workers Peyton and Jackson to help enhance her bedroom skills was something I thought would be epic! Jackson was still hung up on his ex and majorly unavailable... so the no strings attached agreement was going to be full-proof... right?! We all that NEVER goes to plan, and this knowledge held true in this story.

The overall storyline of this one was enjoyable, but did feel a tad chaotic throughout.

The beginning was definitely attention grabbing, but quickly the storyline jumps from one event to the next. And there was the cringy moments that felt a bit uncomfy to read. Although I didn't LOVE this one, it was overall enjoyable, and definitely worth the read!

This book was ok. It felt really scattered at times and I feel as though Jackson’s feelings changed so quickly it all seemed a little rushed.

However this was an easy read that I flew through. It had that typical rom com feeling of never being too serious which I enjoyed.

There were a few mistakes with Selena’s name switching to Serena but other than that it was good.

Sadly wouldn’t read this again but the journey of reading was entertaining.

The opening get my attention, the story moving too fast and jump ro one event to another. One she in apartement the office then sudenly Kat place. When they discuss Partnership Agreement with Jackson ex-wife, i cringe. Okay she the one who suggest that but involve in the aggrement? That weird. Then she go on a date with another guy *sigh* Usually i would love reading this kind trope but this is a chaos. But i like what Peyton said "Once I love someone, that’s it. I’ll love them forever."

Thank you to NetGalley for provide this book, it is pleasure to review this book.

📚 REVIEW 📚
𝑈𝑛𝑏𝑜𝑠𝑠𝑙𝑦 𝑀𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑠
Author: Brooke Stanton
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
Format: E-📖

This one was cute, not my favorite, but not bad

Peyton is inexperienced in the bedroom and after a less than stellar date, she is ready to be done. A deal is made between coworkers where Jackson, the corporate lawyer, will help Peyton with her bedroom skills, no strings attached.

I didn’t mind the age gap, nor the fact that Jackson was divorced. What I completely disagreed with was that after every minor mishap he would go back to his ex!

The spice was decent, but I just couldn’t with how hot and cold Jackson was!

The anxiety that is drawn out of the biking incident was amazing! I loved that part of the story! And also the workplace drama!

I also kind of liked that his ex was trying to help Jackson move on at first but why did she keep coming back?!?

The writing style was good andI liked the premise, but I just did not love it!

Thanks to NetGalley and Coco&Bee for the ARC!

This was a fun book to read and weird but also so good I really enjoyed that there was a different kind of story that's still a love story Peyton gets told she isn't good at sex and she tells her friend and the lawyers ex wife that works at the same place suggest she practice with her ex husband so he can move on and they both agree but they don't expect to have feelings it was a good book

The set up for this budding romance is something I am not sure I was totally ready to get onboard for....maybe a step too far in believability for me but I raced through and the writing was great for that. I enjoyed all of the characters, until towards the end Jackson's ex wife flips a switch and seems to be a completely different person in what she wants, it left a bad vibe but also highlighted how much Jackson was still hung up on his ex wife and yet he too quickly changes his mind and all is well.... I am not too sure this leaves me with a truly happily ever after feeling but on the whole this was fun to read.

I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Big thanks to NetGalley and Brooke Stanton for choosing me as an ARC reader.

Unbossly Manners tells the story of a workplace romance and was such an interesting and left field type of story for me. I was so intrigued by the synopsis that I had to give it a read and see what it was all about.

Peyton is a young woman who has literally been told that she sucks in the bedroom, I mean who wants to hear that! She ends up on a mission to prove she is good at it and just needs someone to show her the ropes. Enter Jackson, the gorgeous lawyer where Peyton works, who is trying to get over his ex-wife and what better way to get over your ex than help the girl asking you to teach her all you know in the bedroom…. nothing could go wrong, right?

I loved the interactions between the main character and there was definitely sexual energy which jumped off the page! This was my first read from Brooke and can’t wait to read more. 4/5 stars from me.

"Verbal abuse is still abuse."
“…therefore protecting us from the most dangerous aspect of any relationship," Jackson shoved his hands in his pockets.
"What's that?" I asked, furrowing my brow at his lawyer speak.
"Falling in love."
I am absolutely in love with this book. It was really good !!!
With a friends/colleagues with benefits to lovers romance, Jackson and Payton’s story was great !!!! I had such an amazing time reading it, I honestly couldn’t stop !!! the plot felt too compelling and the romance too thrilling to simply let these characters go and never hear from them again!!!!
Peyton is a woman who’s been told she is not good. And she seeks proves that she is absolutely great.
And Jackson … he is simply a man still in love with his ex-wife who needs to get over her.
What better way than to enter an arrangement with Peyton to teach her what he knows about sex ???
Jackson and Peyton will have to face each other at work too and figure out what they truly will get to mean to each other while also unveiling a plot to break their company down!!!
I loved every second of this story !!! There was the office romance, with its secrets and complexities and there was also the spicy scenes between these two characters that just … they were just so good !!! Jackson was absolutely amazing and I honestly love him to the core !!!! He is so sweet, so blind and such a generous lovers, he made it hard for me to feel differently for him !!!!
I can’t wait for this book to be out !!!
"I'm gonna make you come so hard you scream."
"It turns me on and I'm not doing anything with you while you're like this”
“But I'm not my mother. Once I love someone, that's it. I'll love them forever.”

Sexy and fun. Some office playing about, a bit of sabotage and a broken and bruised heart or two. An ace read.

This is my first read from this author, and I was happy to be approved to read this ARC.

The first chapter is absolutely addictive. It sets the tone for Peyton's misadventures, and the many calamities she will face in this story. Granted, some of her own making, but still! Peyton (in my opinion) is trying to make a better life. While parts of this were amusing, it didn't pull huge laughs from me.

Jackson, on the other hand, has issues with his ex-wife Kat that he is unwilling to let go. She played with those feelings, and pulled Peyton into the mess, which was unfair. I found myself very angry with Kat for most of the read. I was sympathetic to Jackson in the beginning, but overall, found his character lacking the strength I wanted him to have. The chemistry between Peyton and Jackson is good, but he is unwilling to be open and honest with her, and I grew more frustrated as I went further into the chapters. The underlying mystery about the company's saboteur was fun, but a little expected.

Overall - this is a good read, that pulled several emotions from me. The pages turned easily.
I appreciate receiving my free ARC from Netgalley, and I voluntarily leave my review.

When Peyton has nowhere to go after a horrendous date, she bumps into her older coworker, Jackson, and his ex-wife Kat, who lend an ear - and a place to stay. Peyton is inexperience and wants to gain confidence in the bedroom; while Jackson still pines for Kat - who decided to embrace polyamory while he is monogamous to his core. Kat is the one to suggest that Peyton and Jackson "use" each other to achieve confidence, experience, and the ability to move on. The ensuing story is comprised of healthy: relationships, sexuality, friendships, family, work environments, and even divorce. There are a lot of ups and downs, but communication and self-awareness help our main characters pull through to a happily ever after. The story could have been even more enriched with Jackson's point of view chapters, especially since so much of the drama has to do with what he is personally going through and experiencing. Readers who enjoy contemporary drama that isn't trauma-porn will enjoy this romance novel.

Thankyou to netgalley and the publisher for letting read and review this book. I loved this book. I read it in 1 sitting because i could not put it down. I received this book as an ARC.

First of all, the whole premise is absolutely right up my alley. I love a workplace romance thing. I loved the two main characters of the story, the FMC actually had a backbone for the most part and I definitely laughed out loud quite a few times. The MMC was also a bit of a dreamboat. He definitely checked a lot of my boxes as far as he wasn't an asshole (completely), and he was very respectful.
I did kind of have to suspend a bit of reality in parts of the book because it just seemed a bit out there but overall a good premise and decent story.

I liked the ex wife at first but I hated how her character was written. She was supposed to be this self assured therapist but does some things that were definitely not how was she was intended to be written I feel. Her character fell a bit flat for me about halfway through the book.

The constant reminder and back and forth that the MMC and FMC had about him and his love of his ex wife got a little old when it was mentioned so much in the book. I understood the first 5 times it was mentioned and it just became a bit much.

Overall though, I enjoyed the story. It definitely sucked me in from the very beginning and it was a cute, funny story with a slice of spice in it.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Can I just say how much I loved the characters of Peyton and Jackson! It was an unexpected storyline. My heart dropped when Jackson had the accident and I was so scared something had happened to him. Peyton had great character development throughout the book. I couldn't believe how insecure she was at the start of the book because of that idiot Chip but I think some of it also stemmed with her relationship with her dad and her dad's relationship with her mum. She definitely discovered she is worthy of love. I love Jackson trying to be her teacher and omg those spicy scenes made me blush!! I loved the twist in the story about the company sabotage!! I knew who was the cause of it early on but wasn't sure. I am glad Jackson finally knew what he was missing and gave Peyton and him a chance.

4/5 read from me! Can't wait to read more books by Brooke !!

Peyton has a run in with her friends brother who tells her that she is bad at sex and after that, she is determined to improve. Jackson, who also happens to be Peyton's boss, is not over his ex-wife and when his ex wife makes a suggestion that Jackson should be Peyton's "sex teacher." As time goes on, feelings start to get involved and it seems that no one will win.

I thought the story was cute but very unrealistic even though they brought HR into it. Jackson being hung up on his ex and continually chasing her even when it was obvious that he had feelings for Peyton frustrated me. I loved their chemistry though and how Jackson made Peyton feel safe in the bedroom. It was obvious that they both had feelings and were battling that the whole time.
