I wanted to like this book - I really did. It almost came to be not even finishing the book, but momma didn't raise a quitter - and I wanted it to get better. This whole book just fell flat for me. The premise was a little strange, but I was intrigued for that very reason...and then nothing.

Both of the main characters, Jackson and Peyton, are ridiculous. Jackson is ridiculously hung up on his ex-wife who cheated, proceeded to try to get him to sleep with Peyton, and then kept coming back to him asking for another chance. Ick. Peyton is equally frustrating. I get the whole wanting to learn to be better in bed, but even as many times as she is clearly shown that Jackson isn't over his ex, she still is pining over him. Girl...c'mon. I also felt like to some extent, Peyton being younger (not baby young, just younger) definitely showed. They never really went on a date, and yet somehow by the end of the book, they're declaring their love for each other? I'm not buying it.

I also felt like the whole "female empowerment" and "men need to treat women with respect" was played into hard at the beginning of the book...and then kind of fell off from there. It was also super hard to believe that Jackson's ex-wife kissed him, told Peyton that Jackson should be her sex ed teacher, and then invited her to live in her apartment for a month...5 minutes after meeting her.

As I said, I wanted to like this book, but there were so many things that just didn't make sense and/or gave me the icks. I also wasn't super impressed with the spice, but that was really secondary to everything else.

Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op for giving me an ARC of this book to read in exchange for my honest review.

I received this ARC from Coco & Bee and I could not put it down. This romance was filled with grief of a divorce, failure at sex and learning to love again. The characters in this story were so loveable and real. I truly loved this book. 5 STAR.

I love a workplace romance and this was no difference! This was such an easy read and I had so much run with it. The fake dating/relation ship help trope is so good and I just adored this. I loved Brooke Stantons writing and can't wait to read more from her.

This light and quick workplace romance centres on Peyton and Jackson as they navigate some sex lessons, his ex-wife (still in the frame), workplace shenanigans, a concussion, a drink spiking and so it goes on. I wanted to love it, but the ex-wife was a bit Ghislaine Maxwell and the whole premise felt a bit sad and porny. The connection between them wasn't believable for me and even the steam was a bit forced.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC

This is a super easy read with plenty of spice and humour. I definitely had issues with Jackson but I was also totally rooting for him and Peyton from the get go. I wish we’d seen more of Evie bit I loved Selena and Peyton’s friendship.

Thank you to NetGalley and Coco Bee Publishing for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

First and foremost, the spice in this story was 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.

After another failed attempt at sex Peyton decides she is just cursed in this department. But at her new job she falls into an agreement with one of her bosses to learn “how to be better at sex”. I think this was so fun to read because it was just too crazy to ever happen in real life. We get to watch Peyton and Jackson work together on their sexual agreement. But what happens when Jackson’s ex wife wants him back, and someone catches feelings?

I will admit Jackson was pretty unlikeable until the very end, and at times I wanted to scream at both him and Peyton. But overall, this was a quick, sweet, and spicy read!

So… this book threw me a little. I liked the premise of it and think that Stanton has an easy reading way about her. The story had cute elements, elements of spice but the whole story felt disjointed and rushed. We didn’t really get to see the characters develop, or their relationship develop. I love a happy ending and quite liked the characters but their profession of love at the end… what was it based on? I didn’t really see much connection besides a couple of of “lessons” and their arguing. This has the potential to be fab and I did enjoy reading it, I just wish we got to read more about their journey!

I got an eARC to review this title.
And ohh... this book and I, we didn't match. It was promising, but well.... it was kind of a letdown. The idea of a sex teacher was interesting. And an ex-wife trying to get her former partner back in the dating business was also something I haven't seen before. But oh god, the way she did it and the fact that they kept kissing. Yeah no. All this while I was dying from second-hand embarrassment. This was one of the many reasons why I had to stop reading. Our FMC was sooo insecure about everything. Maybe she should talk to the MMC. I know, they don't want a relationship. It's just "sex ed". But still, you could at least talk to each other before or after sex. Just conversations. Getting to know the other person. Their interests, and how their day was. And maybe, maybe therapy would help. She should talk about her problems and not use sex as a coping mechanism. Overall you can say that she needs to build her social skills. And that coming from a reviewer with questionable social. skills. Like she jumps straight to the weird and awkward questions. Overall, I had no clue what was going on. Neither when she was talking to people, nor when she was getting fingered by Jackson.

Thank you to NetGalley and Brooke Stanton for a copy of this book!

The actual story of this book was so much fun. I enjoyed the banter and the relationship between the two main characters. I thought that the concept of getting a sex coach to help her feel more confident in the bedroom was a great idea and made for a fun and entertaining book. I'm also a sucker for a good workplace romance! Overall I really enjoyed this book! I thought it was a light, fun, easy read that also had great spice and was relatable too, I mean who didn't feel super inexperienced at sex when you were first starting out.

My biggest issue with this book and the reason that I have rated it so low is because of one certain scenario. And heads up this is a spoiler. When Payton is drugged and Jackson takes care of her, she's out of it and all over him. He tells her he doesn't want to do anything with her while she's like this. However, he proceeds to kiss her and makeout with her while she is drugged and out of it. After this encounter when the drugs have worked their way out of her system, she doesn't remember that encounter at all. And to make matters worse he never tells her about it until she asks and flat out tells her that he didnt want to tell her about it anyway. That whole scenario gave me the biggest ick and turned me off greatly. Without them doing anything while she was drugged I would have enjoyed the book more and have been more likely to recommend the book. But that scene really ruined the book for me and I think it's just a poor example to set.

Starting off with the good: the story really sucks you in and is super engaging from the get-go. The writing is excellent and honestly what made me inhale this book in one sitting. It was a fun read and pretty quick.

I instantly liked the main players and thought they were characterized pretty well, they all seemed to wear their hearts and traumas on their sleeves, which was kinda weird, but they had personalities and weren't underdeveloped cardboard so it was okay.

The thing is...okay I know it's in the blurb that the MMC is hung up on his ex-wife and that's totally fine but the way it was executed was just...super ick. It totally hindered his chemistry with the FMC and made me with they wouldn't get together and that he'd end up with his ex. Ending things on good terms is one thing but they were clearly not over each other, were super close, and still kissed a lot.

He was in love with his ex wife who cheated on him, divorced him, pimped him out to the FMC, then yo-yo'd herself back into their relationship by wanting to try again and by the time all that had happened (plus the hospital schene) I was really rooting for them to rekindle their romance!

The FMC had more chemistry with Derrick than with the MMC and I'm sad they didn't work out. They had chemistry, common ground to bond on, and their dates/interactions were super cute! Super sad that he yielded to the MMC and had to step aside for them to be together.

Ultimately this book was super enjoyable but extremely cringey. I think if you're capable of pushing past the cringe for a fun, silly read then you need to read this right now.

I really enjoyed this story - it was absolutely insane but in a fun way. By that I mean that basically every decision the characters made was the craziest they could make in the moment (I mean who suggests their ex husband teaches one of his employees to be good at sex? And who then DOES this and thinks there won't be some unintended consequences?) but the entire thing is written in such a distinctive voice and such a great way that I was right there in the moment agreeing with all of these choices.

I also really enjoyed the side plot regarding the issues at the company Peyton and Jackson work for, I always love a good office drama.

Rating: 4 stars ⭐️

I enjoyed reading this workplace romance and it was easy to read!🤍

The story begins with Peyton Holland and Chip. He is her roommate’s brother and after their disappointing sex, he told her that she was really bad in bed.

When she went to her work to pick something up, she met Jackson and Kat. They were once married and are in the process of divorce. Kat suggested that Peyton should stay with her so she shouldn't have to go back to her temporally stay.

Peyton wants to learn how to be better in bed and Jackson wants to get over his ex. They start a no strings attached agreement and spend a lot of time with each other..

Thank you to Brooke Stanton, Coco & Bee and Netgalley for providing me with this arc. All opinions are my own.
