I enjoyed this cute little romcom, though it was probably my least favourite of the series. But I gave it four stars so don't take that as a negative thing! I think it was just because I didn't relate to the characters as much as I would have liked. But of course the dogs and all of their antics were super fun and totally hooked me! Such a feisty and comedic husky! If you've read the rest of the series, you'll want to add this to your list!

Having read and loved “The Dachshund Wears Prada” and “Pets of Park Avenue” I couldn’t wait to see where we would be going with this book.

I know August Merriweather, she’s the only one who had any faith in Isla and Scout (MFC’s in previous books) and the pet talent agency they wanted to start. She’s a great character, an owner of a dog grooming business, full of opinions, and a zest for life, but the one thing she really wants most in life, is to share her life with a partner (and not a business one either!) but after one too many disappointments August has given up, it’s best just to keep running her business…..

Keaton is a widower, and the last thing he promised his late wife was to become a partner in the firm he works for. And now that’s all his life consists of, work/work/work!
I found it hard to like Keaton at first, his attitude towards August did need a smack about the head! But I had to admire both his dedication to his family and to want to make more of himself. His teen years weren’t the best, but through hard work and determination he makes his family proud.

I also liked the fact that the previous main characters of books one and two (Isla/Theo/Scout and Lane) make appearances throughout the book, it’s great when characters continue to visit.

And don’t forget the dramatic Molly (who’s a husky by the way) for me she was the star of the book. I want a puppy just like her, so full of character, she loves August, but can’t stand Keaton (feeling is mutual) so how can Molly bring these two people together?
A talent competition is the answer, and a tiny room with only one bed 😉.
Working together to win the competition for Molly’s owner Leah( who is August’s best friend and sister to Keaton)
Can a puppy really bring these two together? Or will Keaton pull away from August and continue to hide his heart behind that icy wall?

There is no need to read the previous books as each book stands on its own, but it does show how the three women are friends through the books.

It’s a slow burn romance, but with great moments outside the bedroom it wasn’t really noticed. Hilarious moments with Molly will have you laughing out loud.
A highly entertaining and recommended read from me.

This is about August, the dog whisperer and Sax, the older brother of her best friend. She has always has a crush on him but he is an emotional closed off widower. They grew close when they try to win a dog competition.

Love August and Keaton together. Molly is so cute and funny and totally stole the book. Another great book in the series. So funny... love it.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

Fans of Stefanie London will enjoy the third book in the Paws in the City Series.

Leah Sax is an aspiring social media influencer who keeps trying to set her brother Keaton up with her best friend. Keaton will do anything for his sister, but when she asks him to step in for her and take her dog Molly to a talent competition, he does so reluctantly. Keaton can’t stand Molly, a beautiful but dramatic husky, who equally dislikes Keaton.

Leah also enlists the help of her best friend August to coach Keaton and Molly. August is the owner of a successful dog grooming business and the three have known each other since childhood. After a failed attempt at romance years ago, August and Keaton can’t seem to stand being around each other, but they’d do anything for Leah. So, August and Keaton find themselves sharing a small room (with Molly) at a pet retreat during the competition. Stuck together and working towards a common goal, August and Keaton grow closer, but both have sworn off love.

Molly is the star of this rom-com, which is a nicely-paced, feel-good read. Her antics are amusing and believable, and dog lovers will especially find this story charming.

August Merriweather owns a successful luxury animal grooming business. She is known as ‘The Dog Whisperer’ by her friends and clients. August desperately wants to find “the one”; however, all she seems to find are the duds. When her best friend’s older brother asks for help, she agrees. August knows that Keaton is her worst possible match, yet she cannot ignore the feelings he stirs within her. Can August breach Keaton’s emotional barriers? Or will the man break her heart yet again?

Keaton Sax is a widow. The business world knows him as ‘The Wall Street Whiz Kid’. Keaton intends to keep the promise he made to his late wife of becoming a named partner. When his sister asks for a favor, he agrees to take her dramatic husky to a weekend talent competition. Keaton knows nothing about such events, so he asks the one woman who can help them. August frightens him on an emotional level. Can she help Keaton come to grips with his wife’s passing? Or will he remain closed off to everyone?

I am so happy that August finally got her happily-ever-after. She deserves it. I have always liked how August helped Isla and Scout in the pet business world. She is probably the only person who believed that they would succeed in their pet talent agency. I like how August refused to follow the path her social-climbing parents wanted. She became successful by picking a profession that suited her and made her happy. What I adore the most about August is that she is a woman confident in her body type. She knows her self-worth, and she refuses to allow other’s egotistical views to bring her down.

Keaton won my heart instantly. He is a man who is terrified of letting others get close. It is a defense mechanism to protect himself from further pain and heartache. I like how Keaton made something of himself. His time in juvie gave him the impetus to turn his world around and aim big. He worked his butt off to graduate college and to become a success on Wall Street. What I love the most about Keaton is his dedication to family. He wanted to give his mother and disabled sister financial security, something the three never had in the past.

CONFESSIONS OF A CANINE DRAMA QUEEN is the third book in Stefanie London’s canine rom-com series, PAWS IN THE CITY. This series is a must for dog lovers! Each book centers around a different breed of dog (dachshund for the first, Bichon Frise for the second and lastly a husky for the third). The story can easily stand alone. However, the first two books show how Isla, Scout, and August’s friendship started. So, I suggest starting from the start to better enjoy this delightful series! I love how Isla and Theo and Scout and Lane make appearances throughout the story.

Overall, it is a cute story that had its own charm which I genuinely enjoyed, but this one won’t be a love for a lifetime book.

There’s plenty of chemistry between August and Keaton but they haven’t acknowledged it since they were kids growing up in difficult situations. But now Keaton’s sister has an MS flare up and can’t get her dog to a show. Keaton agrees to help, with the aid of her sister’s best friend August. When they get to the hotel at the dog show of course there is only one room to share and of course sparks fly and of course memories of their young love bubble up. You’ve got something for everyone: close proximity, antagonist to lovers, and second chance romance tropes going on and it is at times fun, funny and sweetly romantic!

Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
