This is definitely my favorite billionaire romance duology I have ever read. Kennedy has a way of perfectly balancing the romance and a real plot that allows for both main characters to be independent forces to be reckoned with while also taking you alongside the whirlwind romance.

Lennix is such a badass main character who finds the inner strength to get herself through the most terrifying of situations but still finds herself breaking down behind closed doors. She's vulnerable while also being a role model who can bring people to their knees with her ability to string words together. She is what I wish more romance characters could be. Maxim is such a fantastic love interest for Lennix and I love how he gives her space to spread her wings and fly but will drop everything to join her anywhere in the world, especially if she's in trouble or needs someone to lean on. He has his arrogant moments, but he's genuinely a great good and very respectful which is such a breath of fresh air in the genre. I truly could not love these two more.

I was glad that the book picked up immediately where the first one left off on that cliffhanger. This book was a rollercoaster of emotions that had my heart racing, tears in my eyes, and butterflies in my stomach all throughout the story. There's no other way to put it than saying this book (and series) will leave you absolutely breathless. From the captivating writing to the side characters who you'll both love and be irritated with, you'll fall in love with Lennix and Maxim's story.

I can't wait to add physical copies of this series to my shelves and will certainly be checking out more of Kennedy's backlist. The respect she has for her characters by adequately researching customs to portray her indigenous main character in the best light she possibly can is proof of how much she cares and it sheds light on very real issues plaguing the people. This series will leave you inspired to do your part in making a mark on the world and find that certain someone who stands by your side while you do so. Never settle for less.

I love this series! The author does a fantastic drop representing many societal issues occurring in the United States. It is a gripping and sexy story.

I read this in one seating, the story was very engaging. It picked up right where book 1 ended. I actually really enjoyed the politics plot, and there was this plot that really shocked me I didn't see that coming. The plot was fast paced. I wanted more action, so it was kinda anticlimatic for the conclusion, Overall it was a really great conclusion! I'd highly recommend everyone to read this series!

Excellent! This story, like all of Kennedy’s books, was just incredible. Such a Bittersweet romance spanning over so many years. Lennix and maxim Are THE powerhouse couple. Their banter and chemistry are off the Chain. i think I experienced every emotion possible in just the first chapter. Excellent installment. Amazing duology!

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for providing the ARC.

To say I tore through this book is an understatement. I am just grateful I had access to it immediately after the first one so I could finish the story.

While this one didn't quite live up to the same standard as The Kingmaker, it was still an enjoyable read that focused heavily on the political intrigue and inner machinations of running a presidential campaign. I found thar part very interesting and was sitting on the edge of my seat.

There were parts that dragged. The first book seemed like it was wholly about Lennix and Maxim finding each other. This book seemed to be more of them facing a slew of outlandish problems. It was hard to be involved when everything seemed too fantastical for me to really take seriously. Still very much an enjoyable read, though.

I was dying to read this follow up to The Kingmaker and things picked up right where the cliffy ended. The Rebel King delivered. I loved this continuation of Lennix and Maxim‘s story. There was more of their intense love story and the good spicy stuff I expected but there was also an interesting plot line following two brilliant and inspiring characters figuring out how hold on to each other without losing themselves or what they believe in.

Thank you to Bloom Books and NetGalley for the ARC.

Let me just say that Kennedy Ryan, the author that you are, I love it. This was so good, I loved it more than the first book, it gave me what I loved about the last half of the first book and more. The political drama, the romance, the intrigue, it's interesting and pulls you in immediately. This book starts off on the cliffhanger from the last book, and right away, we know what's going on and how the characters are reacting to it. The first 20 percent of the book is extremely fast-paced, with lots of intrigue just think season 4 of Scandal. The political drama/intrigue in this book was a lot more than the first book, with a focus on the campaigns that Lennix and her team run and her relationship with Maxim.

A minor complaint I had in the first book was that, at times, it felt too informative, and this book fixed that with all the action and focus on drama. I also didn't see chapter 24 coming, that was kind of shocking to me, but it really fit in the scandal-political drama vibe of the book. There's so much more I want to say about this book but they're spoilers, so I'll just say that you should read this series if you love political drama and suspense. I love Lennix and Maxim so much, their story was beautiful. The ending tied everything together, and seeing their character development along with the full circle moment Lennix had about her mom at the end was quite emotional,

Thank you, Netgalley and Blooms Books, for this arc for an honest review.

I DEVOURED this book. My heart broke for Millie and all of the Cades and I loved how there was so much growth between not only father and son but his father and Lennix. I’d read more from this series if KR wrote more…..just saying.

shoutout to netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS bloom books for pulling through like they always do and delicately placing this sequel on my shelf. it is greatly appreciated <3

what a great ending to a fantastic duology. this series was everything i didn’t know i needed!

these are such well developed characters. there problems are real and handled gently. adding kennedy ryan to my list of authors who genuinely cares about the characters they write.

lennix and maxim’s relationship warmed my heart and i wish we could get a few novellas surrounding them because two books was simply not enough.

telling all my friends about this series asap

"You can still fight with fear in your heart." A watery chuckle escapes me. "Sometimes it's the greatest motivator. The fear of what you'll lose can make you that much more determined to win.

This is the second part of the series. Maxim still wants Lennix in spite of everything. Lennix is caving in... but there are so many complications... can their love survive?

In addition to the deep emotions and angst, this book has a lot more action and suspense than the first part. I love the political aspects of the book too. Maxim is terrific. Wish that he is the president in real life....

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

Excuse me as I type this with tears in my eyes...

This book GOT me - I am all up in my feelings. From the beginning of the book, it started off strong, and kept me engaged from then until the end...when it lost me, just a bit. Books rarely make me cry - but this one is an exception. It could be that I relate to what happened (I won't say more for fear of spoilers), or that I was caught in a moment of weakness; either way, I cried like a baby. I absolutely adore Maxim and Lennix's relationship together, and while they did some things that made me mad (especially you, Lennix), I thought they showed a lot of strength and resilience in their relationship.

I was prepared to be super mad at the ending, but the bonus epilogue helped save it...slightly. Still wish it would have been expounded on more. I was also prepared to be upset about another piece of the story that felt unresolved, but Kennedy left a note explaining the reasoning, and it makes complete sense.

All this to say - I could not recommend this book more. 100/10 - you should read it! Now, excuse me as I go buy and read every other Kennedy Ryan book I can find...

Thank you to NetGalley and Bloom Books for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I was looking forward to reading this book after reading the first book as it ended in a cliffhanger. This was an okay read for me. I was hoping that there was more romance in this story as there was little of it in the first book, but I wanted to give this book a read it see if it would be better. It wasn't terrible but it just wasn't the story for me. I needed more romance and although there were steamy scenes, I just needed more. There was so much other stuff happening, that I felt it took away from what I needed from Maxim and Lennix, so it was hard for me to believe in their love. This story picks up right where the first book left off with Wallace and Lennix being hostages. I definitely won't give away why they became hostages, or what happened but there will be a bit of heartbreaking along the way. This is a suspenseful story with political issues, presidency, vendetta's and more. The ending was steamy and sweet, but this is the type of story that's a one-time read for me.

This is the follow-up sequel to The Kingmaker, a romance between a Native American woman and an heir to an oil dynasty. This story was fast paced and had action and politics. Overall I liked it but I didn’t love the female lead. But more than anything I DO NOT want to read about butt stuff. The sex scenes were crude. Warning to authors: you write about butt stuff I’m docking a point immediately. -Like there is an extended epilogue I downloaded and it was just butt stuff. Like why?? No.
But thank you Netgalley and Bloombooks for this early copy. I still recommend you check it out!

A solid ending to this duet. It picks up right where the first book ends (phew!), and it continues to follow Lennix and Maxim. One aspect I enjoyed about this one was the political element. It also provided a very satisfying ending.

Picking up right where the cliffhanger left me, well, hanging at the end of book 1, this sequel felt a little bit different than the first installment. It felt more impactful in a way I can't explain.
The romance is still preponderant here, and is exquisite. Getting to witness Nix and Maxim forge a bond even stronger than before, weather the storms thrown their way. It's a beautiful love story 😍
But aside from it, there's a strong lit fic component imho. Ryan manages to capture the essence of millennials these days, or, at least my essence ahah. I wish these characters existed in real life. They would inspire me, restore my faith in our system, in capitalism and in politics in general. I don't want to say too much, but it was a great and inspiring read.
I did like Lennix and Maxim got more than their fair share of drama 😅 I wasn't expecting it and it felt a bit much at times, but it was still an amazing conclusion to this duet 🩷
And now I can't wait to read Kimba's book 😍

Phew thank goodness I could read book 1 and 2 back to back - I don't know how else you could do that given the cliff hanger at the end of book 1! The second book picks up immediately where the first book leaves off and continues bringing all the drama and heat. I really loved seeing Lennix and Maxim's relationship continue to evolve as they find themselves in their new positions. Don't skip the link to the bonus epilogue at the very end because it is *hot*.

I will never shut up about this series and just how incredibly Kennedy’s writing. Lennix and Maxim’s story was awe-inspiring, vulnerable, and so amazingly unique. She will always stay as one of the authors I recommend to any reader!

This picks up right where The King Maker left off and wow was it a suspenseful read!!! I binged it in almost a sitting eager to know how it would end. I don’t want to spoil any events from book one in this review, but I love how we got to see so much more of Maxim and Lennix as a couple and how this story dived into politics, as it centered around a presidency campaign, without being too political.
