I enjoyed this story. While it wasn’t my favorite of Sandhya Menon’s books, it was still a fun read. Great character development and setting!

I love all the Sandhya Menon's books. They are always so well done with interesting characters and good conflict to make the stories unique and fun to read. This book in the series is definitely a little bit darker than the other books in the series, so read with caution, but the circumstances feel earned and not performative. This book is part of a series but it can be read alone like the other books.

This was an fascinating take on the sleeping beauty story. One thing I love about Menon's books are the diverse characters and how it feels accurate to what life is like, but this one didn't have as much representation as some of the others, but that's life so it didn't take me out of the story. Overall, a fun and interesting read.

It’s senior year, and Daphne Elizabeth “DE” McKinley, the heiress to the McKinley hotel dynasty, is still licking her wounds after a painful breakup. She’s determined to keep her head down and her heart shuttered—even from new student Xander, no matter how dreamy he is.

Then Rosetta Academy is swallowed up by a sudden and massive spring storm, and very strange things start happening. The students start to fall into a stupor, then a deep sleep…one by one. Soon, DE is racing against the clock to find the source of the strange spell and stop it before it claims the entire school. Could Xander’s help be the key to solving the mystery?

This was an intriguing take on sleeping beauty. This tackles parental abandonment, murder, hospitalization , and other difficult topics. It’s a lot darker than Sandhya’s books usually are. I have to say I don’t think I’m a huge fan of the writing style as I was when I read Sandhya’s debut book, When Dimple Met Rishi.

I loved how those books were diverse and this one feels like it lacks diverse characters which is what drew me into Sandhya’s books in the first place. I was also a moderator for a discord group for Sandhya (asked by the author to step in but never heard from her again) but the author herself disappeared without a trace, lol. I think that whole experience with this book made me lose interest in this author’s series. I will recommend her dimple trilogy- that was a fun series to read!!
