This is one of my favorite crime series. The characters are like old friends that I get to catch back up with, with each new book. There is always a balance of work and home for the detectives in the books so that we may get to know the characters. In addition to the team, Josie’s twin sister Trinity, is drawn into this story with her own investigation. I always like when the stakes are upped, and the case is personal, and we get that in this installment. Dr. Feist is the medical examiner and we find out she has a connection to the case.

Since this is book 17, I’d like to add this can be read as a standalone. The author does a good job of filling in any details from previous books that you need to know. But I love the character development in this series and think the building from book to book adds a lot to the read.

The story is fast paced and kept me on my toes with a lot of suspects. There are some potential trigger warnings and the author uses sensitivity when dealing with them. As usual, I loved following along as the team races to solve the case and seeing if I can take the same clues and get there first. As a side note, I rarely do.

I think long time series readers along with new to the series readers will enjoy this one. It’s another great installment in the Josie Quinn series.

Close Her Eyes is another cracker of a story from Lisa Regan. Once again we're in the company of Detective Josie Quinn and her team in the town of Denton, Pennsylvania. This is a complex case beginning with the discovery of a young woman's body, she has been murdered and branded. Its transpires soon afterwards that local pathologist Dr Anya Feist has an identical brand. This was given to her many years previously by her abusive ex husband. What could be the connection between Dr Feist and this young woman. Is her ex husband involved? This case has many different aspects and characters involved. Josie and her team will be pushed to their limits to reach a conclusion. I enjoyed this book and I recommend it. Thank you to NetGalley for my advance copy.

I'd heard of the author Lisa Regan and her Josie Quinn series, but Close Her Eyes is the first book by Regan I have read. It was well worth it. The story has everything a mystery and thriller should have. Great characters I fell in love with; a great story; great emotions; great page turner events. Guess what! This is a great book!

Well this book ripped out my heart and stomped on it. That ending was a lot. If you haven't read this series I highly recommend and I recommend reading it in order because there is so much character growth. There are so many great characters and I love getting to see them all. Josie has such a lovable team and an adorable family. Despite a slow moving case with few leads, the pace of the book is perfect and I didn't want to put it down. I had no idea how it was going to end.

I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

Thank you to Bookouture for letting me take part in this tour and for my copy of this book via Negalley. This is the 17th book in the Detective Josie Quinn series but they can all be read as standalones.

This case hits the team hard as it relates to one of their own, medical examiner Dr Feist. Not only that Sharon Eddy's grandmother reminds Josie and the team of her beloved Grandmother who she misses dearly.

The team work like a well oiled machine these days. They can know with just a look what one of them needs. I loved catching up with all the side characters such as Trinity and Misty too.

The case is slow moving to begin with very little leads. This is extremely frustrating for the team. The book is well paced and the action picks up later on just as it's needed.

This is another must read from Lisa.

Complex small-town mystery full of corruption, obsession, and multiple agendas. Fast-moving, gripping and sometimes emotional - pulls you in and you are part of the team. Some strong themes and big changes in this one - but no spoilers here - read it to find out

Another great detective Josie Quinn thriller by Lisa Regan. It's already book 17 and I've been so lucky to have read the last three now. This book is called Close Her Eyes and it came out on the 3rd of May. I received it from Bookouture via Netgalley.

A body of a young woman is found. A victim with no enemies living just a quiet life. This case hits differently, closer to home. That makes it all the more personal for detective Quinn. The case takes another dramatic turn when another body is discovered. Is Josie able to solve it all before more victims turn up?

Just like the two previous books I've read, this one was a blast to read. The characters have been developed well since there have been 17 books already. Every time you get to know the different characters better and they become really known to you.
The story was also quite the thrill. Loved the tension and the development of the story leading up to the ultimate climax of the story.

You should definitely pick up a Josie Quinn book and start this series!

5/5⭐

I love the Detective Josie Quinn series! This book is readable as a stand-alone but it is much more rewarding if you read the previous books first. Once again this book was masterfully plotted and written. Fast paced and just when you think you figured it out another twist comes.

This book did not disappoint! But that ending, why oh why? Can't wait to read the next one.

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Lisa Regan for an ARC of "Close Her Eyes" in exchange of an honest review.

A body of a young girl is found, did she fall and got killed? Until a call from the Medical Examiner, Anya Feist, who doesn’t quite sound like herself. She found a “branding” on the girl’s hip. This sets off an investigation that looks at the past and a different county.
Once again, a great installment in the Josie Quinn series.

Close Her Eyes by Lisa Regan
Josie Quinn #17

Dark, grim, complex murder mystery that grabbed me on page one and didn’t let me go till the very end.

What I liked:
* Josie: homicide detective, married, had a difficult childhood discussed in previous books, happily married to Noah, competent, professional, good at her job, someone I would like to call friend
* Noah: police lieutenant working with Josie and also her husband, loving, kind, supportive, bright, protective, patient, perfect for Josie
* The plot, pacing, setting, and writing
* That it make me think, drew me in, and made me care
* The police procedural aspects of the story and how Josie’s team worked with the team from Bly
* The complexity of this mystery with all the threads that were found, followed, and how they were all tied up in the end
* Getting to see the supporting characters and finding out how they are doing
* The psychological elements and their impact on more than one
* Knowing that there will be another book in the series
* All of it really except…

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Thinking about all of the mental and physical pain and suffering that more than one experienced
* Thinking about how evil some people are

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Definitely

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC – This is my honest review.

An emotional gut punch! Fans of Lisa Regan's Detective Josie Quinn series are in for a powerful read with book 17 as the storyline grabs our attention very quickly and doesn't let go throughout. The shocking past of one of their own unravels to provide a starting point for lots of mystery, and the ride only gets more and more wild as the story continues. I'm not usually overly emotional in this series because it keeps me on the edge of my seat with excitement of what is yet to come instead of yanking on my heartstrings too much, but this book is gut wrenching and raw. I'll be right here waiting for each and every book yet to come because I adore this series so much.

I highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who enjoys a highly intriguing storyline revolving around a police force digging deep to solve murders and mysteries around their small town. The members of the force are endearing and care deeply for one another.

17 books in, you'd think the seams would start to show. Thankfully, though, that's not true. This book and this series are still as engaging as ever. There's a bit of a shake-up in this one and I trust Lisa Regan enough to look forward to where she'll be taking the story next.

Close Her Eyes book number 17 in the Detective Josie Quinn series delivered a well written and riveting police procedural. I am fairly new to the series, with this being the second book that I have read. Each book works well as a standalone, as they feature different cases. Regan also provides the relevant information to enlighten new readers and refresh the minds of fans of the series. For readers new to the series, this information will leave you wanting to pick up the other books in the series.

The case featured in this installment centres around the murder of nineteen-year-old Sharon Eddy. At first it appeared the victim had fallen to her death, but after careful examination of the body revealed a case of murder. The findings of the examination also opened up old wounds for Anya, the medical examiner. It forced her to relive painful memories from her past. As Josie digs to learn if the person in Anya’s past is responsible for the death of Sharon, she discovers a connection to another murder in another county which occurred ten years ago. It so happened this was the same mystery Josie’s twin sister, Trinity, sought information for a feature on her television program.

Close Her Eyes pulled me in from the first page and refused to let me loose until the end. There were many guilty parties and the introduction of more victims made it interesting trying to unravel the connection between all parties. Although figuring out who the guilty party wasn’t difficult, the case had many moving parts, making it a complex one. Josie and her team had their work cut out for them.

Regan does an excellent job of giving Josie’s backstory. So despite not being with the series from the start, it allowed me to connect with her. Knowing what she has been through in the past made her real and not just a fictional character. The story hidden between the pages of Close Her Eyes will both thrill you and gut you as it unfolds. Be prepared for a rollercoaster ride as the past and present collides. The outcome, while bringing closure, the path to get there, was laden with tragedy.

I am enjoying this series, and I am glad I discovered the author. Fans of police procedurals, crime fiction and relatable characters should add this series to their reading list.

This is a twisty and dark novel, one of the darker I read in this series.
It starts with a moment of relax in Josie and Noah’s life and then there’s a killing, a shocking revelation, and it’s the start of a gripping, adrenaline-fueled ride that kept on the edge.
There’s a sense of doom and dread, you feel that this is the start of something worse than what already happened.
There’s a strong accent on women abuse and there’s a sort of claustrophobic atmosphere.
I think there’s some of the most hateful villain and some moments that made me cry buckets.
I think it’s this could be a novel that starts new things and I’m curious about the future
I thoroughly enjoyed this one: riveting and heart breaking.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to Bookouture for this arc, all opinions are mine

Whatever I say, a review cannot give this story justice.
So many pieces of a jigsaw, interconnecting and yet not making sense.
A plethora emotions in this story.....no! how could you? to aha I knew it, oh no I didn't at all. Red herrings everywhere and I loved that I was clueless to how this murder mystery would finally unravel and make sense.
Poor Josie was put through the ringer on this one, in danger over and over.
I finished this story last night and my heart is still racing as I pen my review. How can I move on to another story, I'm still both upset and happy that it's solved.

This is book 17 in the Detective Josie Quinn series. Such a great book and the ending was just wild. I recommend👏🏻.

The body of Sharon Eddy is found in a local creek. She’s a nineteen year old who was raised by her grandmother with no known enemies. Did she fall or was she murdered?

Detective Josie Quinn is assigned to the case and soon discovers the terrible truth. The killer has left a distinctive brand on the victim and Medical Examiner Anya Feist is afraid that she knows who the killer is!

Anya’s ex-husband, Vance Hadlee is a prime suspect but Josie needs to find evidence to connect him to the victim. When another body is found, Josie is even more desperate to solve this case fast. Can she and her team find the killer before anyone else dies?

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
