This book was super interesting and surpassed my expectations. I haven't read anything like it before and I doubt I will in the future. It was wholly unique and well written with an interesting vibe strung throughout.

Honestly, not sure what I expected going into Grim, but this was way better than I could have ever guessed. When I say I was HOOKED on this story, I mean it. I enjoyed the music aspects and found this to be a really good psychological horror book that left me questioning everything.

Death metal mystery is not a genre I would claim to know of, or read. Yet Elfgren's book was a delightful fright that had me hiding under the covers all night to finish the book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I really wanted to review Grim because I seemed like something I never read before. I was 100% correct and not just about the story it also reads like song. I don't know how to describe it, but the closest I can get is that the style feels
Like it has an edge. You feel like you are in the story and you get annoyed at every Son of Nordin for Kasper.

Some rough language, but in this metal landscape it seems fitting

I was mainly interested in this because of the title and it really lived up to it. This was so good. Another one that I definitely want to read again in the fall because I think it would be such an AMAZING fall read, especially on a rainy day with a candle or sitting by the fire eating smores!!

This book has surpassed every expectation I had!

When I read the summary, I was immediately intrigued, but I wasn't prepared for how wrapped up I'd become in the story!

Music has always been a huge influence in my household and I was surprised by how many of the 80s metal bands I actually knew. I shouldn't have been surprised since I was practically raised on 80s rock, but to see how many of these bands influenced music in other countries and the author herself was amazing to read/see.

The premise of the story takes us through a teens desire to uncover the mystery behind his namesakes death while excepting a position at in a haunted house at the local amusement park.

We'll also be taken through the past when death metal was being born in Sweden and the lives of his father and bandmates.

Though the story is occult horror, there is a psychological aspect to the story that will have you wondering what is real and what isn't.
