Growing up in a household of domestic violence and child abuse, many black men suffer silently with the long-term effects of this trauma. We are taught to be tough, to not show vulnerability or weakness, and to brush off the abuse as just a part of life. But for those who seek help, there are few mental health resources available. In this book, the author shares his personal journey of finding self-worth and overcoming the trauma of his childhood. He hopes that by sharing his story, other black men will see themselves and find hope in their own journey of healing.

This is a tough book to read. The author had a horrific childhood full of abuse. He tells his story of surviving the abuse, then having his own mental health issues , then becoming a successful man.
Well written.
