Ella Quinn has done it again; totally immersed me into a different time and place! The hero in this book takes time to evolve into a man that one could actually like, beyond his superficial good looks and position. There were many times when I felt frustrated by his cluelessness, and wondered how Eugenie could bother trying to get him to be more than a pretty face. The added intrigue was riveting and added depth to the book. In the end, I found myself loving the main characters and rooting for their HEA.
Well done Ella!
Unfortunately this book did not hit the spot for me.
I was pulled in from the first couple of chapters then disappointed, the writing felt disjointed. I felt the plot was trying to do too much at once. I was intrigued by Eugenie saving the orphan at the beginning but her character fell flat after that. Will was a bit of a pig.
A miss for me.
Thank you Netgalley for this ARC.
Ella Quinn does not disappoint! I haven’t been a fan of historical romance books that are set outside of London but this book was so well done that I may expand my geographical boundaries of future books. William and Eugenia’s story is so fun and such a fast read that you’ll want to make sure you’ve got a day or two set aside to read it. I promise you won’t want to put it down. There’s even a romance in the romance so if you’re looking for your HEA, you get two…or maybe three in this one.
This was an awkward take on an interesting idea.
I love a different locale for a historical romance, but this just didn’t hit the spot somehow. The plot was a little disjointed? I don’t know how to word it, except it was very hard for me to get into.
Will and Eugenie are alright separately, but together they felt awkward and stiff. The writing and descriptions were beautiful, which is why I did end up giving it 2 stars. I will continue to read Ella Quin, I think it was just these characters that did not shine for me.
Star Rating: 2/5
Tropes: Class difference, enemies to lovers
CW: Violence, classism, racism
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Love the cover. Unfortunately that’s all I love. I was just bored after a while. The beginning was promising but it didn’t hold my interest by the end.
Never assume you know the status of a person. There is a big difference between a widow and a single young woman. That is the start of a complex story line. You get two single young women and two eligible men. Add in a plan to kidnap one and a father who is not what expected by his family. More fun in this story that is part of a series. It does stand alone.
I love a great regency romance and Ella Quinn is one of the Queens!! This was absolutely perfect. I quickly read through this because I had to find out the ending! I loved this so much!!
I just reviewed Enticing Miss Eugenie Villaret by Ella Quinn. #EnticingMissEugenieVillaret #NetGalley

Absolutely promising and unexpected beginning....then I don't know how the reading became flat, and boring as the plot continued.Zero involvement for the two main protagonists.Too bad.
The antics of those debutant's seeking to trap a titled gentleman are always hilarious to me, author does a great job living up to that expectation. I liked Eugenie, she's independent, compassionate and a bit bold with great, supportive family and friends. Will is driven and determined to convince her, he surprised me. I was at a lost at times, I think mainly because I haven't read any of the other books in this series. Regardless this was still an engaging and steady paced regency with some suspense and loads of love.
This is book is an awesome read. It was wonderful. I loved the romance a lot. The world building was really fun. I enjoyed all the characters and found this book very intriguing. Go check out this book.
