What the hell did I just listen to?! And better yet, why did I absolutely love it??

Tanis is a Canadian country bumpkin that wants to escape her family farm. Her favorite pastime was to climb on the roof of the barn with her sketchbook and draw the Allosaurus’s that worked the mines near the farm.

Big Al is an Allosaurus that has been watching Tanis for a while and decided to shoot his shot with her. He touches her forehead so they can communicate and tells her that he wants to be with her. Tanis feels the same and they run away together to find a community where their love can be accepted.

I requested this book on a whim - with a title and cover like that, you can’t NOT be curious! I got exactly what I was looking for! It was spicy, it made me question my values, and it was a wild ride.

I enjoyed listening to Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer. The narration I kept me entertained and hooked the whole time.

I loved this audiobook and the completed story, I read this book physically a few months ago and was sad that it stopped on such a cliffhanger, and listening to the completed story was a such fun time the narrator was what I would imagine tanis would have sounded like and also what big al would sound like. The narration was so engrossing and appealing.

I knew going into this that it was just going to be a silly, good time. This book was exactly that. At the end, I asked myself, “what did I just read?” But I got exactly what I was expecting and hoping for, a crazy, wild time.

3⭐️ 3🌶️

I know, I know. This book has been making the rounds and I’m here to tell you it is not as ridiculous as everyone is making it out to be…it’s far more. Everything is chaos. Everything is insane. But the writing itself is excellent and I couldn’t stop cackling, nor could I seem to put this book down despite not liking nearly every single event that happened…I mean who thought I’d be jealous of some random cult member wanting to get with our FMC’s allosaurus lover? Certainly not me. However, each new twist and turn had me right back to laughing out loud…sometimes you just need a good ole’ “dinosaur ate my arm after we did it” palate cleanser and this is it. There wasn’t a whole lot that made sense plot wise (was there actually a plot? I’m still not entirely sure), but Lola Faust is certainly a superb writer and she knows how to keep you entertained.

I snagged a copy of the audio book from NetGalley and I have zero regrets. I give all the kudos to Katrina Medina because her performance is outstanding and if you can successfully record this level of foolery while staying true to character, you’re a superhero in my eyes. She did a fantastic job with Tanis, as well as all the bizarre and quirky side characters. I’d certainly listen to more of her audiobooks in the future.

I regret this decision. I can’t unread this book. After reading and hating Dino Stud by this author I decided to give her books one more try, still waiting to have a fun time. Our MC gets shot in the shoulder by her dad, rescued and then ravished by an allosaurus immediately after and then he eats her dead arm. I think that was all in the first chapter. I did not have a good time. I regret this decision and I will not be back for anymore by this author. Nope. Can’t do it

This was a guilty pleasure. I noticed it on bookstagram, but am not brave enough to post about it. It is something that if something mentions they are curious about it, I would suggest it if they into smutty books. I did love the terrain where it was based out of Alberta Canada and into the states, what is formerly known as the 'badlands' which is rich in dinosaur history.

Well who knew dinosaur porn was a thing, but hey anything goes these days anyway so when I saw this available I couldn't help but request it, the idea was bonkers and guess what, it was, it was so bad it was funny and it is not erotique in slightest. I have to admit, I did not finish it so I will never know what happens to Big Al and Tanis, but I think i can live with that. I give this audio book two stars just for the novelty value.

This book is batshit. Absolutely entertaining. But incredibly wild. So many plot points ignored. Such an insane time.

This was absurd and less fun than I hoped

So our heroine Tannis does it with a sentient dinosaur named Big Al, an electro engineer ‘bad boy’ with a honky tonk haircut who loves the taste of her blood. They communicate with each other in thoughts and pictures and through their mutual lust. Then they set off on an adventure that made me feel like my brain wasn’t working. Honestly, I checked my carbon monoxide detector to be sure I wasn’t oxygen deprived. During their adventure, Tannis gets shot in the arm and it needs amputating, her Dino lover chews it off and eats the stump of her injured arm - this is described in great detail.

This is -by far- the weirdest thing I’ve ever read, and I’ve read some crazy crazy shit. It was too distasteful to be funny, descriptions of his fishy smell and meaty breath made me want to heave. But there was lots and lots of descriptive dinosaur sex that I had trouble picturing in my head. This isn’t a shifter story, as many Dino-erotica, he is a full on 10 ft allosaurus and they do it in Dino form. I’d describe it for you but I’m not ready to talk about it. I may never be.

Kudos to the narrator for even doing this, I hope you are ok. Maybe we should set up a GoFundMe for her so she doesn’t have to take these kinds of jobs in future.

Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Well…..that was….an experience? A book? A story?

My brain will never recover from the following (SPOILERS WITHOUT ANY FRAME OF REFERENCE):

• gnawing an arm off.
• being turned on by that.
• a spunk room bunk room.
• an orgy with other Dino lovers.
• a Dino in a business suit.
• heady scent of fish and flowers.
• BUT DADDY IM 18 YEARS OLD.
• I’ll work for all the meat.
• HURRY THE ORPHAN EGG IS CRACKING.

AND THESE ARE JUST HIGHLIGHTS.

I can’t give it one star because as disturbing as it was and wild as this journey has been, the book is called DINOSAUR SMUT so it’s on me really.

I listened via audio and I will say that the narration and additional voice effects were excellent.

BONKERS! Absolutely bonkers but absolutely entertaining. Sometime people need listen to a dinosaur/human threesome while doing laundry and I am here for it. Big Al and Tanis experience a wild journey from escaping her father to a commune to North Dakota.

If you can watch Belle fall in love with the Beast, you can listen to Tanis fall in love with Big Al (as he eats her arm).

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC

So, there I was looking for something interesting to listen to and I ended up with this story between my ears.

I'm not going to lie and say it's pretty, but it's not unpleasant either, that is if you don't take into account that the main character's arm was ripped off.

Basically, the story is about a girl who - according to me - is obsessed with dinosaurs.

Big Al, the dinosaur protagonist, licks her like a chocolate ice cream when they first meet and rips her arm off. At first I hadn't processed this, and in fact in my head she always had her injured arm attached to her body, but I just found out that she didn't.

Thank you Goodreads, never die.

They are both found and forced to flee her family's farm and embark on a journey that involves infidelity, kidnapping, many hours of driving, and rampant sex.

Is there blood? Yes, and lots of it.

Is it listenable? Actually, yes, it's quite entertaining, it has some shocking twists, and the truth is, it's juicy.

Is there sex in every chapter? 🌚

If none of the above convinced you, I'll tell you that the narrator's voice is more than enough to get you off. She has a sexy, decadent voice that makes the story feel like the real girl is telling you about her experiences.

Gracias Goodreads, nunca mueras.

Here’s my first audiobook review!

Welp. According to my own definition of my star system, 3 stars means I didn’t love it; I didn’t hate it; I may have liked it but wouldn’t necessarily recommend it. In this case, I’m not even sure if I like it. To be honest, I only chose this because I have seen this on #booksta so often and the reviews were so funny. I wanted to see if the book was as funny as the reviews were.

I have to say…. Between Big Al’s cylinder of love, the corn cobs (that didn’t go where I thought it would), the blood licking and the arm eating…. It’s something but I wouldn’t call it funny. And seeing as how Tanis keeps comparing Big Al to oversized fowl, I’m trying to figure out the mechanics of sexual encounters between the two of them. Not to mention the other sexual encounters that happen. Hello fist, meet first time. Am I allowed to say that?

This is definitely dinosaur page porn, aka erotica, and I can’t get over Big Al’s, ah hm, being called his “cylinder of love”. But if there is one positive it is that the narrator did a great job reading the story. I honestly don’t know how she did it without giggling awkwardly the whole way through it.

I was given a free ARC of the audiobook from NetGalley in return for a honest review.

3.75 hilarious stars. Honestly, go into this with zero expectations of reality, and a mind to absorb as much humour as possible, and you’re in for a great ride! Obviously, with all monster erotica, you have to keep in mind that there will be zero chill whatsoever, and that every single thing will be so far out in the realm of ridiculous you can’t even see the shore. With a book like this, you can’t take anything seriously, and you’ll have a ton of fun. I cackled multiple times, and some of the descriptions will stay with me for years. I’ll never look at a corn field the same again 😂
Big Al and Tanis are a bizarre match made in heaven, and the journey they end up on was a roller coaster from start to finish. If you’re looking for a slow burn romance, turn back immediately! These two have a courtship that lasts about 3 1/2 minutes long, and Im thrilled to say I had a great time with it!
There was just so much to laugh at and enjoy, and I know I’ll be coming back to this authors work forever more.

Upon seeing the book's cover art and title, I couldn't help but laugh. My curiosity piqued, and as a book lover, I'll read almost anything that comes highly recommended. However, I must say that "Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer" is not a good book. It falls into the category of strange fiction that you might find on the fringes of the internet, where people eventually joke about its bizarre and ridiculous content. It's hard to tell if the author is genuinely serious about their writing or if it's contemporary satire, given the Bookish community's recent resurgence of "spicy" content. While this type of content isn't new, it usually stays in its respective places on internet forums, etc.

As one might guess from the cover, the book tells the story of a young woman named Tanis, who falls for an Allosaurus named Big Al after he saves her from her abusive father. However, before we can dismiss the book as simply a "woman violates animal" storyline, we learn that the dinosaurs are just like humans, with feelings and the ability to communicate telepathically, thanks to some recently invented technology. This leads to lust and, unfortunately, bloodlust, as Big Al is, after all, a carnivore. The plot is basic, featuring a star-crossed lovers and misunderstood trope that quickly wraps up with little character development beyond the characters' mutual attraction. Although I understand the purpose of an erotic novella, I would have appreciated more substance and depth to the story beyond Tanis's unwanted suitors.

Fortunately, the book is short, clocking in at less than 100 pages. If nothing else, I recommend picking it up for a good laugh and to be grossed out by this hysterical novel. I apologize to all the dinosaur enthusiasts out there, but this book is not for the faint of heart. It's best enjoyed in the company of like-minded friends who aren't easily squeamish.

TW: Xenophobia through immigration implication

This was such a odd, very questionable read. The story was very nonsensical, and although supposed to be fun ridiculous escape but it was too far in the weirdness that’s not in the monster fucking variety. The cult commune aspect of the book was interesting.

Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer by Lola Faust is the definition of an f* around and find out erotic story. This book was ridiculous and hilarious and I laughed out loud so many times that my husband started walking around with T-Rex arms singing "I'm a dinosaur" to the tune of the Jurassic Park theme song (thank you TikTok).

The author knew exactly what she was doing with this scintilating dinosaur story. It was full of sexy romps and inter species drama. The narrator did a great job on the audiobook and I actually really liked how the end of the story went down. If you like monster romance that requires zero thoughts in brain, this book is for you!

I received a free copy from Netgalley for an honest review.

I know, I know! What the hell is this?!
I laughed out loud when I saw the the cover art and the title, curiosity got the best of me and I couldn't resist. Let it be known that I will read almost anything for the sake of excellent recommendations for book lovers.

To start us off, this is not a good book. This is the type of strange fiction that you find through a hushed section of the internet that people eventually openly laugh about because it's so strange and ridiculous – 'My Immortal' comes to mind – so much so that I can't tell if the author is genuinely serious about their writing or it's contemporary satire, given the Bookish community's resurgence of "spicy" content. This kind of thing isn't new, but it usually stays in its respected places on internet forums etc.

As you can guess from the cover, the book details a young woman named Tanis who falls for an Allosaurus called Big Al after he saved her from her grim and ghastly father. Before we have a chance to stick this in the pile of 'woman violates animal' we learn that dinosaurs are in fact just like humans with feelings and the ability to communicate telepathically due to some recently invented technology, this is followed by lust and unfortunately blood lust – it is a carnivore after all. The plot is very basic. A star-crossed lover, misunderstood trope that wraps up very quickly with very little personality from the characters other than they like each others naughty parts. Yes, I understand the point of an erotic novella but I would have loved some meat and bones to this story – not just the flesh from Tanis's unwanted suitors.

Thankfully the book is short, less than 100 pages. If anything I suggest you pick this up so you can be equally grossed out by this hysterical novel. (Sorry to all dino-lovers! – Literally) Best enjoyed in a group of not so squeamish and easily entertained friends.

If you’ve watch Jurassic Park and wondered what it would be like to have “relations” with the dinosaurs this book may be for you.

Suspend reality for a moment if you will. Where humans and dinosaurs are alive together.

There’s a dinosaur who is able to communicate via telepathy with a human, she has many orgasms (he words not mind). It is an absolute wild adventure, and if this is your yum, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
