Note : The version of the ebook I downloaded was off. The first page of every chapter was missing (and I tried on my e-reader and my phone), this did not stop me from understanding most of the story though.

Johanne's story is well translated, I felt like it was her talking to me throughout the whole book. Her experience was very hard to read and it is important that this story is shared as it is happening still (and to many more women and families). I definitely want to keep up with her daughter's future development.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this book in exchange for an honest review.
The dedication this mother has put into trying to get her daughter and grandchildren out of Saudi Arabia is incredible.
The Saudi law seems to be applied randomly by keeping her grandchildren on a no-fly list for no apparent reason. There are so many instances that gave her hope only to be pushed aside by government. Such a tragic story of being stuck in an abusive relationship and being a prisoner of a foreign country.
