I'm not too sure what to say about this book. I enjoyed the fast pace in the beginning, even with all the medical mistakes. I really wish someone would have proof read the medical parts of this to make it more believable. Seeign past that though it was a good novel, well written and fast paced. But then something happened and now this doctor has become a spy, is stealing and dodging death left and right. I had to suspend belief for this novel and then it got really political.

This one wasn't a win for me, I have enjoyed other books by this author but this one wasn't a winner.

Despite the fact that Maggie and her husband, Will, chose not to have children, Maggie believes they have a happy marriage. And when her husband comes into the ER where she works, Maggie is sure he was killed as a result of a burglary. After being told he committed suicide, Maggie begins to question everything she thinks she believes about herself, her husband, and their marriage.

After Will's funeral, Maggie goes solo to close up their vacation home in Croatia and finds an enigmatic letter from her husband. Recruiting her good friend back in England to try to help her get to the bottom of it all, she is shocked when her friend ends up in the ICU, victim of a hit and run accident. Strange happenings occur while Maggie is staying alone at their Croatian home and she narrowly escapes death herself. Initially she believes her first near miss is an accident, but the incidents keep on coming and Maggie becomes terrified.

Maggie eventually realizes her husband's death is connected to someone in his past, someone in a powerful position who wants to keep their secret well hidden. Battered and afraid, Maggie makes her way back to England to figure out the mystery and try to put an end to the person's misdeeds, Maggie must make a choice, sacrifice herself and the lives of loved ones, or contribute to the cover-up.

This one's tough to put down and recommended for those who enjoy thrillers and puzzles.

There are plenty of twists and turns in this one. I found myself completely hooked and unsuccessful at trying to predict where this would go.

I was instantly hooked by this one. It’s one of those books that pulls you in instantly and becomes completely unputdownable.

II’ve literally devoured this in just one sitting with no regrets. This is an absolute must read.

Maggie Kendall is stunned when her husband supposedly commits suicide--and when a letter suggests otherwise, she starts down a twisted journey following clues to find the truth. I love this author, and this book was no exception to his wonderful work--I enjoyed every page, right from the start. Highly recommend!

Thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC.

I love a great thriller with suspense that keeps me on the edge of my seat until the end, and this one fit that bill. Maggie's husband, Will, is shot and she is stunned to see his body roll into the ER during her shift. She assumes he was the victim of a burglary, until the police tell her that Will pulled the trigger. Then ensues that struggle, grief, suspicion, anguish as to whether she believes that her husband was suicidal. When she finds a letter, more secrets begin to unfold and things from his past come to light putting her life in danger. This was my first read from Bryndza, and I was not disappointed! A great one to add to your tbr for fans of twisty suspenseful thrillers! Thanks so much to Robert Bryndza, the publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this e-arc.

Dr. Maggie Kendall is on shift at the hospital in London saving lives with emergency surgery when she finds out in the most shocking way that her husband has been shot — a suicide, authorities later rule. Maggie doesn't believe he would have done any such thing, and as she spends time in an isolated part of Croatia to clear items out of their vacation home, she senses a threat. Someone is clearly looking for something. Here we enter into a highly entertaining and suspenseful search for the classic MacGuffin, all while Maggie wonders who her real friends are. It's maybe a little too convenient that Maggie is the only one who fully understands the clues and has access to just the tools she needs at the right moments, but who cares when the story is this compelling? (I also wonder whether a few pages were missing from my advance review copy, because at a key moment the MacGuffin needs to be hidden and then much later it shows up again without apparently having been retrieved.) The pace is fast, and the ending is gratifying.

Thanks to Netgalley and Raven Street Publishing for a digital advance review copy.

I'm a huge fan of Robert's Erika and Kate crime series, and 'Fear the Silence' was another favorite of mine. His books are so captivating that I can't put them down until I've finished. I highly recommend him as an amazing author.

A fantastically dark, nail biting thriller.

I was hooked! Fast paced, intriguing and gripping from the get go. The building tension had me holding my breath on more than one occasion!

Secrets, suspense, tension, thrilling… read it!

Will is dead, and Maggie’s whole world comes crashing down around her.

At first glance it is a suspected robbery, but when Maggie is told that it was in fact her own husband that shot himself, she is consumed by grief and an overwhelming sense of guilt. How would she not know he was suicidal? He couldn’t have been, he had his whole life ahead of him!

After travelling to their holiday home on a small Croatian holiday, Maggie finds things left by Will, that lead to a dark secret. And when strange things begin happening, she questions everything.

Did she even know her husband?

Okay, so everyone and their mother knows I am Robert’s biggest fan, after falling in love with his Erika Foster series many years ago! Did I think a stand-alone would hit the same way? Honestly.. no! I love the build up and character backstory’s, HOWEVER! This was perfectly executed in my personal opinion. It is everything you want and need in a standalone, and I will never be able to doubt Robert’s ability to create such compelling and addicting thrillers again🫢

This one, as do all his others, really freaked me out, I can’t lie! To the point I didn’t want to sleep in the dark or be home alone… because you never know who is lurking in the shadows👀

This book is a story full of conspiracy and corruption, and I just loved it! You never expect the endings of Robert’s books, and this was no different! It kept me on my toes the entire time, and I highly recommend it to all of my thriller loving friends!🫶🏻

This is another gripping book from Robert Bryndza. Maggie is married to Will. She is a trauma surgeon and Will had been a forensic pathologist until he suddenly decided to resign and become a property designer. Maggie’s world is turned upside down when Will’s body is brought into the hospital where she is working. He had fatal gunshot wounds so Maggie thinks it must have been a burglary gone wrong and is shocked when the police inform her that they think it is suicide, Maggie decides to spend some time at their holiday home on one of the Croatian islands to digest this information. She discovers a letter from Will that makes her realise that he had been involved in some sinister events. As she begins to investigate she uncovers some shocking secrets that result in her own life being in danger. I found this book a compelling read with plenty of suspense, secrets and twists and turns. A little far fetched at times but still an excellent read.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book,

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read Fear The Silence by Robert Bryndza.

This is not the first book that I have read by Robert Bryndza and it definitely won't be the last. The Erica Foster series of books is amazing.

Now, back to Fear The Silence. Maggie is the central character to this book, she is a strong female who when her husband commits suicide (or so it appears), she tries to find solace in their summer house in Croatia, but when a letter arrives everything spirals out of control.

This is a great gripping read and I would highly recommend it.

This is exactly what I needed, a thriller that moved at a fantastic pace with a lead female character. I loved the Croatian island set piece and the locals. I don't want to spoil anything but I will say tragedy turns to intrigue and readers will certainly have some fun with this!

This is a nonstop rollercoaster from start to end. Not sure why it took me so long to get around to reading but glad I finally got around to it.

I was completely caught up with anticipation at some points and although some bits were unbelievable it did not spoil my enjoyment. Overall it is an excellent suspense/ thriller.

Thank you to #NetGalley and #RavenStreetPublishing for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This was an excellent stand-alone thriller, which is a cracking read. Full of suspense and intrigue, this book will absorb you and that makes for an engrossing story.
At times, some of the action appears a little far-fetched, but that does not diminish from a proverbial roller-coaster of a read, with some huge surprises throughout.
This is a brilliantly crafted read, and I would highly recommend it.

When Maggie's husband Will commits suicide, she searches to find answers that make her question the life they had together. Who was Will? What secrets did he keep from her, and will those secrets continue to haunt her from his grave?

Maggie's search for answers leads her to a favorite holiday spot where she makes some unlikely allies in a bid to stay alive.

I had mixed emotions about this stand alone from one of my favorite authors. I did feel he did a good job of creating a back story for Will that explained his actions, but everyone else just seemed to be "missing" any type of character development. The "big bad" was not bad enough, and the people who were collateral damage deserved more thought.
I had a hard time caring about Maggie, Will or the whole reason for his actions, and felt that it just needed "more," although more of what I had a hard time defining

I do plan to read it a second time to decide if maybe some things make more sense, but it was hard not to compare this effort to the other series I read by the author that appear to develop the characters more. As a stand alone, it was interesting enough, but only as a quick mindless read.
* I was given a copy by NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.
